A very good comparison video indeed. You should consider looking at the newer Mega Construx, as the Bone Shaker was their first car model and had some growing pains. The newer ones look better and feature better building techniques.
@@GundamMeister807 Street Rodder looks interesting, I might get that one. I'm not sure why Rodger Dodger is way more expensive than the others though, has a similar piece count.
@@RacingBrick I see now. Must be regional pricing. Here in Switzerland both are similarly priced with a difference of about 10 Euros converted due to high import taxes. Which matches up with the 100 parts difference.
The 42116 Skid Steer Loader has also a nice tiny hotrod as the b-model, I like its unusual steering system. It feels really good to "drive" around, they really nailed the feeling with that one. I recommend anyone who has that set to try building it! :>
Yea Man i bought this set and it was so fun to play with, I love small Technic sets, recently bought set 42133 telehandler. and it was even better in my opinion and preety cheap for the amount of functions you got, really recomend this one
I made some more modifications to my nico71's bucket hotrod. I stuck with the original wheels but I put light bluish grey dish's ( 6x6 on the rear and 4x4 on the front ) to represent moon discs, I swapped out the existing axels to be able to attach them. I moved the wheel arch on the fire wall forward 1 technic beam and filled in the gaps with the required technic parts. I lowered the height of the head lights and completely redesigned the lights from rims to two 2x4 round plates with a 2x4 round tile on the back and a 2x4 inverted trans clear tile on the front for a lens. I put a more realistic air cleaner on top of the engine and topped it off with a 1x1 round metallic grey tile to represent the wing nut, same or the radiator cap and petrol cap and tiled off the top of the radiator to remove to only visible studs. I added 1x1 modified plates in metallic grey for door handles. I also completely redesigned the front end because the original design fell apart too easily NICO71 did a great job using only parts from the batmobile but was obviously limited with what he could achieve, a little bit of brainstorming and some parts from my parts bin and it looks so much better.
Yep, I saw them, but so only this one was available around here so far. Rodger Dodger seems to be way more expensive than this one, I might get the Street Rodder though.
the 2004 set (10151) is a reissue of the model team 5541 set released in 1995, called Blue Fury (the new one is not even in the Model Team theme). I know, because I still have the original model team set when I was a kid, i just built it again (and replaced some old parts with new ones).
Interesting seeing Mega Construx getting into the Creator Expert game. Especially considering the enormous Cyber truck coming out. Really like the Technic Batmobile design, and though I'm not in the market for a hot rod that fan B model is fantastic, and makes very clever use of not only the pieces, but the functions as well. Vespa tires look amazing on it. Technic 8440 I think was the first Technic set I ever attempted, and though the hotrod A model is pretty fun, I have since had it built as the B model being I think a dirt track race car of sorts.
There were quiet many hot Rods as b model. As i remeber „formula offroader” has one and there was also black jeep style vehicle that has hot rod as b model as well.
Nico is such a talented and great builder. He had managed to make a really cool alternate and be the first one to who published an alternate for the Batmobile car set😅. And I'm not a fan of non Lego like sets, thus I'm choosing Nico's hotrod😁. Your modification makes it look even better, just don't hide it when recording a video for us😉
Why not? There are lots of other building block brands nowadays, some of which have sets which are just as good as Lego. Sometimes even better, as some manufacturers have abandoned stickers in favor of pad printed pieces.
Nice to see something different! Thanks for doing a comparison review of the MC Hot Wheels hotrod with Nico71’s MOC. Very helpful info as always. Maybe you can review my pullback mod to the Mopar Dodge Dragster too someday, 😉 😉
Very cool video! Could you rewiev Rolling Bricks's Rx7. It is an alternate model for the Speed champions Toyota Supra. The build is super cool with some very interesting building technuiqes .
honestly, the megablox one is better since you don't have to buy the manual apart from the set, if it weren't for the fact that you have to pay to have the instructions for this, the MOD would definitely win
I'm not sure what is the difference? You either pay for the stock experience in one package (bricks + instructions), or you first pay for the bricks and then you pay for someone's creative work to turn that set into something completely different. Making proper instructions is *tons of work*, it should be appreciated.
@@RacingBrick as you said, the first option pays for the stock experience in a pack (bricks + instructions), it's better, because you pay for 2 sets and then you pay for another instructions(I'm not denying the merit of the instructions creations) me It seems more like someone who has no imagination and well one can buy the set and make a hot rod moc that pleases him, but within the options that there are, the megablox is better, you can't find the difference because because you are reading it very literally, for that when you read it it looks almost the same, but when you act it is very different you spend more on the second option than on the first
@@RacingBrick Hmm… \:-) You should review the Mega Construx HW Rodger Dodger! The Rodger Dodger is like a late-60’s/ early-70’s muscle car with a GIGANTIC V8 engine with a blower intake.
@@franciscs1604 I've seen that one, but it costs twice as much as Bone Shaker around here with approx the same amount of parts and as I see it does not offer more exciting building techniques with the boxy body design. I might rather check the Street Rodder or the Purple Passion.
I need more money. I like all the sets I have, and the ideas that are out there for alternate builds are just fantastic, but I don't want to disassemble my Batmobile. 😂 I need more money to buy additional sets - anyone have suggestions on how to sell the idea to my wife!
Yes the silver is not perfect but lego is to dumb to use as is should. See Harley or Delorean. When lego would buy me, as they do it to you, i would the say the same.
So wait, it's actually challenging to follow a conspiracy theorist's thinking... I don't say the silver looks weird because it uhm, maybe *actually* looks weird but because LEGO "bought me"? You guys are truly amazing, really :D
