Bob, like your enthusiasm and I totally agree with your assessment. Lucy has an outstanding voice, rich and full of depth. This rendition shows what I have said about her belting -- Reach without Screech. While belting she still has her excellent diction, vibrato, and you can still understand the lyrics. She can also hold a very long note and does not drift off key. Then after that long note she trails off into a excellent vibrato. Where does she get all that breath? Fantastic. Typical chills and tears. 😂
That's a great saying. I may have to use that at some point! Ha Her voice is so good that I wasn't really in a position to go into any detail on that (like I said, I'll leave that to the vocal coaches), but boy, did she sound great, or what?!
You were afraid that she will start to scream like most of the new singers. Lucy knows to control her voice and never, never, scream.

Hi Bob Lucy has released a cover of Eva Cassidy's version of "Somewhere over the rainbow" it is brilliant knowing how much you like Lucy I thought you would love this.
Lucy did this just a short time ago at 18. She turned 19 just a few days ago on Feb. 21st. She's always been beautiful inside and out, but just gets more stunning vocally and visually. She's a blessing from the God of Heaven!

Bob, one of my favorite Lucy Thomas videos is "Wind Beneath My Wings". It is about a year old. It's pure serenity. It just makes one feel good by hearing Lucy's outstandingly pure peaceful voice. It also shows her range by going low enough to feel the bass resonating with my chest. It even causes me to cloud up during the last verse.
That was beautiful and she didn't sound like she was screaming.

Bob - thank you for reacting to Lucy's music. Also thank you for listening to so many of her songs from her RUclips channel. Lucy, in my opinion, is an international treasure. Her 'understated' presentation without all the vocal gymnastics is a refreshing change from all the Whitney and Mariah want-to-bes. I noticed that Anthony L has commented - I look forward to Wilbur and Steven's posts - they go into a lot of background and history that I am not about to spoil. Lucy is already fantastic and will only get better.

Lucy has nuances to her voice.she doesn't just be.t it out.
I have become facinated by her singing I prefer her covers to the originals Sriesand, Houston, Dion and others. Her original songs from Roasie are also very good, I like to think of covers she would blow away and recently thought about "Killing Me Softly With His Song" by Reberta Flack it would be amazing.
She does a beautiful version as always. I am glad to see her Album up on your wall.

Hi Miguel. I probably didn't say it right on the video, but the "emphasis on the words" is what I was alluding to. Some people can be choppy with their words when they sing. With Lucy, everything just flows together so beautifully.
@@ModernLifeForThe70sMind Yes, in her other songs like Pocahontas and Run when she was very young she already pronounced the words very clearly (although with some struggle) and how she delay some lines in most songs just to give emphasis on the message did wonders to the song.

Bob, sorry but I can't let it go without commenting. Note the final word of the song. She took "love" through a long hold, into a decent vibrato, and then out to finish love. No drift on the long hold, a very even symmetrical vibrato, then to the finish. Astounding. Also, Bob, is that Lucy's album cover on the wall up over your left shoulder?

Lucy is on her way to stardom. I hear people comment about Chris Stapleton being the most humble person in the room, but I think Lucy could give him a run for his money. She doesn’t have to have tattoos or purple hair to be a Star. All she has to do is sing like the angle she is and I hope she stays that way.

You are screwed, you have gone down the Lucy Rabbit hole, and you cannot get enough of her. Lucy is only 20 years old, and her voice will not mature, for another 10 years. So we are only at the ground floor, we have another 10 years to watch, and listen to her perform, the best music ever, and it is going to get better, and some cannot imagine her voice getting better then it is, it is like improving perfect.

If you haven't yet listened to them, I would suggest Lucy's renditions of "Somewhere" from West Side Story and "Memory" from "Cats". Also, try hrt duet with sister Martha - "The Prayer"
