Thanks Paul for continuously showing us ways to progress in an open minded and nice way! You tell us the normal things, that we forget, eager to progress with hand stand. And this is so important! It's so important to remember those things we take for granted. Hold on and continue this way!
Everyone else says get straight as soon as possible... banana's ard the worst thing ever... you are practical and appreciate that makes a good progression. Thank you!
@@PaulTwyman No thank you! Tried this out after 2 years of trying and managed 20 seconds on Thursday.... it really works! Then I realised... when a kid learns to walk they put their arms out... so why wouldnt you start with your legs apart. Awesome. Subscribed.
I started my journey tonight and I am excited to have reached level one. I could do headstands against the wall but with the help of this video I am starting to build my confidence in the handstand
I can happily kick up 100% to wall and float legs/heels so not a hard hit anymore, I still find under balancing a real challenge, more so than over balance. I think I am now at the point of free handstand and learning the exit of over balance (cart wheel) but also L sit, straddle and regular yoga practice all helps with this skill in terms of strength but it definitely is a skill more so than I thought a year ago! great channel keep up the good work Paul
That’s awesome! Great progress and sounds like you’re enjoying the journey. Under-balance control will dramatically change your Handbalancing and take it to another level
Your videos are so excellent. Thank you. Such clean explanations and so helpful - I coach beginners but I often direct them to you and steal your cues with reference!
Thank you so much for this vid! I'm hoping to do all of these cool tricks soon. Just a gradual build up of confidence is what I need, and this video was the first step to that progress!
Thank you sir. How do you keep balance with split up legs? I can kick up to a hand stand but the moment one leg goes into the underbalance side, I lose it. How do you offset the weight of the leg behind? What could my weak link causing this?
Prioritise the shoulders and it matters less what the legs are doing. This video explains how to do this ruclips.net/video/dL_27dZWHEU/видео.htmlsi=cc_sk47KpOd3PjjX
I’d check Head to toe mobility as it could be coming from anywhere or it could be layering of a few things. If you take the hands a little wider and relax the legs it might go away as it gives everything more space. It’s not really and issue unless it causes pain
@PaulTwyman thanks for the answer 🙏🏻. I have a little limitation in shoulder flexibility. Maybe I just learned the skill wrong from the start because if someone points it out when I am in the handstand I can correct it but it feels unnatural
For me, the case is 6/10 are fine but those remaining 4 are really bad fall. Are handstand affected by how tired one is? I practice my handstand after a run and light weight training but sometime I get right but some are like worst. Your kick up hand stand is amazing even you can balance overshoot and it looks easy but I really struggle with under- and over-shoot handstands.
Yes as you get stronger, more conditioned and better at the skill it will be less effected by tiredness or you will just have more room for error. I can be tried and not warmed up but because my window of balance is so big I will always catch 10/10 attempts
I can do a handstand and a handstand and l sit to hand'stand but i cant kick up to it anytime ...... I feell in front and i cant find a straight hand position

Brilliant just done it completely unexpectedly, thanks!
Starting on the box is definitely a game changer! Great way to introduce control into my previously flailing attempts at a press handstand :) Thanks!
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I’ve just started to learn how to do handstands and the tip on using a box to start is so helpful.
Great! Enjoy the journey

for sure that under balance takes a lot of control and strength. @@PaulTwyman

Kicking up not over is the best advice ever.
Awesome!
I’m @ the kick up but haven’t got a balance over 2 seconds yet. Been working it for a couple months

Thanks!
Tk you, the kickup is what I've been stuck on.. hoping a box will help me get my legs up
Thanks bro 🎉❤

Great test!

Yes this is common if you’re strong. Try kicking up slower and catch in underbalance (shoulders forwards and feet back slightly)
Great explanation, I am a beginner and my goal is do it as good as you, looks awesome, and easy but it is not at all hahaha
You can do it! Enjoy the journey
@@PaulTwyman I will keep you posted 🙇
just what I needed, and hes aussie like me lol
