I have used a 1a blade for a wahl 1, 2 blade for a wahl 2, 3 1/2 blade for a wahl 3 and a 3/3/4 blade for a wahl plastic 4. 5/8 blade was a #5 wahl plastic guard for me.
maria martin I have mine 0 gapped yes, if you were to have a fade blade gapped, it would be closer than a taper blade, since the tip of them fade blades are thinner than taper blades 😁

Wrong on some of the sizes 3.5 blade = 3/8 3.3/4 = 1/2
You could be right, but most ppl know that detachable blades always come out shorter than what they appear on the labeling
@@Jdthebarber760 go by the mm sizing on each blade .that is a true indicator of the length
How do you fade the line between open and close with the detachable blades? Because detachable normally are equivalent to close guards

Really good question man, I would not know, I usually do not use detachables for fading, only for buzzing.
1, 0A, and 000
Learn to flick
00000 BLADE = TRIMMERS
000 BLADE = CLIPPERS CLOSED (IT'S A 0)
0A BLADE = CLIPPERS HALFWAY OPEN (IT'S A 1/4)
1 BLADE = CLIPPERS OPEN (IT'S A 1/2 SO IT'S LIKE YOUR 1/16 GUARD CLOSED)
1 1/4 BLADE = 1/16 GUARD HALFWAY OPEN ( IT'S 3/4)
1A BLADE = 1 GUARD CLOSED
1 1/2 BLADE = 1 GUARD HALFWAY OPEN (IT'S A 1 1/4)
1 3/4 BLADE = 1 1/2 GUARD CLOSED OR YOUR 1 GUARD OPEN
2 BLADE = 2 GUARD CLOSED
2 3/4 BLADE = 2 GUARD OPEN (IT'S A 2 1/2)
3 1/2 BLADE = 3 GUARD CLOSED
3 3/4 BLADE = 4 GUARD CLOSED
5/8 BLADE = 5 GUARD CLOSED
I agree with you. I also use 3/4 blade with a wahl plastic six guard
If you 0 gap the magic will it be closer to the other 0
