Bro, I've been thinking about doing Preply for a while now. I've been with another company but I'm really struggling to get students because the company is very small. And I've been really stressed about it, but just watching your videos makes it easier for me to get into. I'm gonna give it a shot and use all that you've given here and in your other videos and hopefully some time in the future I'll be doing well enough to consider this an actual 'full time' job. Cheers mate
@@teachercook-e2572 thank you. My videos are still not as good as I would wish them to be. However, I’m pleased to say I’ve made some awful videos: some with the background music being too loud, others not edited suitably, etc. One thing is certain, the more videos you make, the more you learn and the better you get. Keep going with your videos and it would be great to see you get 100 subscribers.
@@ELTExperiences I only made the channel less than a week ago so the fact I’m act 30 subscribers already is really cool to me. Thanks for the support and kind words. Look forward to more, hopefully better, videos soon 😊
Cheers for this. Putting time and dedication into your profile as you said is key. That extra revision or two could lead to hundreds more bookings down the road. It may not make as big a difference as your price or education, but it’s a worthy investment of time. ⭐️
I would advice to not have online teaching as your only source of income I did that for 3 years and it felt off to half. Algortythms change and they want new teachers to refresh the search for old students. I regret not saving and starting my business sooner. So many people want to teach online too.
I'm a new Spanish language teacher on Preply. I'm just looking for my first students, and let me tell you I consider these tips will be so useful for me. So, please keep going sharing you knowledge with us. Dude, I have a kindly suggestion for you. It would be nice if the nest videos sound a little bit louder 'cause I could understand what you said thanks to my headphones but without them it's a little bit more difficult.
Hi i took inspiration from your video and also recorded a video on youtube to share my experience of having taught via preply for 3 years. Hopefully this content might be helpful for some going on with their tutor journey.
I wouldn't mind paying 2 more dollars, but if someone told me they have to increase their price after 5 lessons, because these were a trial period, and they hadn't mentioned this before, I wouldn't have kept going on with them even if I had "bonded" with them.
Hello.. Am new English tutor on Preply.. I have literally no idea about my 1st trail lesson .. What should I teach in trail lesson ? Plz response soon.Thnx
Thanks my friend for the video. What happens if there is a trial student who I dont wanna block nor dont wanna teach again ( she is hard work)..I wanna up the price for that student only alot because I don't wanna attract her BUT I hear the price change will only happen if she clicks "accept" right? She hasnt booked for the 1st lesson yet and I hope she doesnt...lolz.
Hi there, I know Cameroon is in the same timezone as here in the UK. I would say that the evening times from 5-8pm are typically the busiest. But this'll change dependent on who you're teaching and what subject you're teaching
I've been teaching the Japanese language on Preply since 2020. This video is very instructive, especially the part you explain the importance of the reviews. Yeah, I agree with that, teachers shouldn't be pushy for students to leave reviews, it must be annoying for them.😅

@@teachercook-e2572 how to speak introductory line for the English Teacher
Excellent video, clear and coherent. Thanks for the information.
And preply take quite a chunk off the asking prices so you need to consider this too.
This may be true. However, there is an incentive to teach more hours on Preply since the commission decreases the more hours you teach
Good job , your tips and tricks were great.
Glad to hear that!
Thank you ❤

New teachers to refresh the search for old students? You mean old students prefer to get new teachers?

You made a good point, there's definitely a fine line with this and it's difficult to gauge when you should increase the price with some students.
Great job:-) love the vid my friend

Glad you've had a long successful adventure on Preply too fellow teacher. Thanks for the kind words regarding my video. Hope you're doing well
Will a tutor be penalized for canceling a class?
Yes they can be, it can hinder your ability to become a 'super tutor' and can lead to your profile being hidden from potential students too
How much did you start with per hour ?
$7
Do you have still students at this low price ?
@@teachercook-e2572 This is ridiculously low...So sad that people have to sell their services for so little.
Hay I'm also a new tutor on preply.
Thank you for great video. Kindly explain how to link preply to Facebook n Instagram.
