Thanks for the basic tutorial. I was able to come up with my own simple design based on the principles here. It was my first time making a hat with Tunisian crochet, but it came out great.
Wouldn't it be easier to use Tunisian hooks with long tails? Am I missing something? I'm afraid that I find this doing a small section at a time very confusing. I do like the design and intend to try it; many thanks.
Yes! This is actually one of my first Tunisian crochet projects ever. I am not sure if you're already familiar with it, but if not, I highly recommend trying it out to see if you like it. I started with a regular crochet hook and a small square Tunisian project first to see if I liked it.
Sure! I got mine at Joann’s. Here is a link to one of them. I believe they have most sizes: www.joann.com/clover-double-ended-tunisian-crochet-hook-h-/10207553.html
Would’ve been nice to see how to make it the solid color… did you use 2 skeins of the same color; one skein and just make it by the row; how did you do it????
I’m confused because the smock stitch tutorials I have watched up until this video were done differently. When pulling the yarn under the two maybe it don’t matter any air from that fan crossed over loops you are pulling it through the front loop first instead of the second loop all the other videos I watched on how to do the smock stitch did the opposite.

I am very happy to hear it!

Interesting, I might just try this. Thank you

I just used two skeins of yarn that were the same color and followed the pattern the same exact way.
Thank you 😊

If this is beginner I think I'm out lol 😅
This was my first Tunisian crochet project! But if you have never crocheted, I wouldn’t start here.
