HOW TO COOK ASPARAGUS (OVEN-ROASTED ASPARAGUS RECIPE)
1 large bunch of fresh asparagus, about 1 pound
2 teaspoons extra virgin olive oil
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Snap off (or cut off) and discard the woody ends of the asparagus.
On a rimmed baking sheet, toss the asparagus spears with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Next arrange them in a flat, even layer.
Bake for 7 to 15 minutes (depending on the size of your asparagus - less time for thinner spears, more time for thicker spears), until the spears are tender.
Transfer the roasted asparagus to a serving platter and top with freshly grated Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes. Serve with fresh lemon!

I use a potato peeler to clean the ends, this way I save a lot of the Asparagus.

I have been cooking my asparagus this way for years. I just like to add some Herbs the provence or italian seasoning with the oil-salt-pepper. 😋😋😋

Hey Danny, I have been cooking asparagus just like you showed here but in the end when I bring them out of the oven rather than putting chili and parmesan ... I put little bit of balsamic vinegar. you can also try it... its very good.

I usually steam my asparagus because I worry about the loss of nutrients from

I prefer to shave off the lower end of the asparagus with a potato peeler, just taking off a little of the outer covering. It becomes delicious when cooked and you are not wasting a big and tasty portion of the asparagus. Try it

Break it individually, it doesn't take that long. Chewy woody stems might be why people turn their nose up at asparagus .

Good method, except much too much salt!! So much salt overwhelms the unique, slightly sweet asparagus flavor. The freshest veggies are noticeably sweet, so salting them as if you're making TV snacks really covers that up. Asparagus is usually pricey-- why wouldn't you give it the best care? The salt-cravers among your family or friends will get the biggest salt hit by sprinkling it on, themselves, afterwards.
Is it okay if I cook the asparagus with the rubber bands? I don't like to take things off of things because it's against my religion.
This is also great in capsule form and doesn't have that rubbery taste that comes with the rubber bands.
