    What has gone on here is not inappropriate it is animal abuse . It ain't an error of judgement it is engrained behaviour. Why it came out now is incidental....are we bothered someone like this misses the Olympics? Although the issue should have been raised at the time to possibly spare more horses from this woman over the last 4 years.

      She went to the other Olympics so I don't feel that sorry for her and she's got a medals from that and she's made her money from those medals and she's been giving copious amounts of cash from the lottery funding which will now stop however she will not be living in a caravan on a trailer park so I shed no tears

    The fact other people were there watching means she wasnt fussed about hiding it. Suggests it is common practice and I doubt she's the only one, the only one to be caught though

      Exactly right, she was clearly familiar and comfortable with that whip in her hand.
      There have been a number of whistleblowers recently, though. The Helgstrande footage was appalling. Dressage has become a farce and a disgrace. It used to be about partnership, harmony and relaxation.
      I hope the British intolerance of animal abuse means this particular leak will force change. It’s sorely needed.

    Why would you take a whip like that into a training area if you had no intention of using it? Does anyone seriously believe that this doesn’t happen in other dressage stables?

    • @jule3480
      @jule3480 2 месяца назад +3

      Actually that part isn’t true and whips are supposed to be GENTLE tools of communication . So pointing or a tap ( as in if I tapped you on the shoulder).
      A horse can feel a fly land on it , so that’s how soft it should be.
      And lunging a horse, that is generally non contact, so you use a long whip to block a horse’s forward movement or to indicate to trot canter ( and that generally doesn’t even touch a horse at all)
      There is zero need to put force via a whip into training a horse unless a person is taking their temper and frustration out on it and then that’s abuse imo

    • @xhaltsalute
      @xhaltsalute 2 месяца назад +3

      Whips can be used as just an extention of your hand, or leg. The amount and quality of whipping is obviously something she is quite used to do. It is beyond unacceptable to do that to that horse. The horse is obviously unable to do the actions demanded. Any dressage movement must be ASKED of the horse, never demanded.

When Dujardin refused, the blackmailer purposely went public with the video just a few days before the Olympics began. As well as jumping horses at unreasonable heights pulling them up by the bit to get over the next jump when they are exhausted! Bits whips spurs all deemed fine by calling it "aids". The equestrian world is warped towards tradition and ego it's mostly negative. Sports involving animals at such high stakes should not be supported because the animal always looses, always.

    If the story had come out before, it would not have made headline news. In 2022 former equestrian and racehorse trainer, Sir mark Todd was suspended from training after a video showing him hitting a horse ten times went viral. At the time of the incident he was a patron of the charity World Horse Welfare.

      And that guy got off Scott FREE basically!!! It's the corrupt authorities. Nobody advocating for the animal sake. That's why anything involving animals and money, should be automatically outlawed. Animals are life and they have rights to that life. They are callous & evil, treat the majestic creatures as if they're a punching bag. The problem too is they are around them too much and fame, it all goes to their head where there is no accountability and no self control. They are crazed and psychopathic.

    No part of cruelty is never part of training a horse for dressage. The timing of bringing this to public discussion was vindictive as it could be. It should have come to light at the time and the perpetrator given the chance to rehabilitate their control on their stress levels.

    She’s definitely finished her career is no more that’s a given it’s too shocking and no one will want her in dressage events. My main thought here is she knows you only tickle the horse as an aide so it understands to pick its legs higher which gives the dancing aide. The ? here is why did they tell on her 4 years on something is definitely amiss here. Brutal!

    You are completely wrong relativating. She did this only 1 time to a horse she's not owning? I saw this as daily praxis on low level dressage trainers. Why now? The question should be why not earlier!

    If there's any justice in the universe, she'll be a dressage horse with a sadistic owner in her next life (come to think of it, all dressage owners/practitioners are sadistic so they all have a lot of bad comeuppance coming to them).

    everyone continues saying 'error in judgement' when in fact she has been abusing horses for years (e.g. bloody mouths). She is not a good human. Period. Quit trying to downplay what she's done and that she isn't the only rider, professional or otherwise, who abuse horses in the name of the sport. Dressage itself is terribly problematic so that should be another discussion.

    The poor horse must have been thoroughly terrified. As, probably, are all the horses Dujardin “trains” (read “tortures”) much of the time. What an utterly despicable, heartless creature she must be. The sooner a lot more is found out about this horrendous practice the better.

    This was not an error of judgement, this looks a usual training method for her. This entire billion dollar industry has to be brought to an end. Let's see whether anything sustainable comes out of this, if the FEI really acts accordingly. I suspect Charlotte Dujardin is not the only top-level rider with such practises.
