Check out this video www.youtube.com/watch?v=vGmlW... from a few years back where Steve raced his son Ben in a night race at Glory Days. Yes that's Ben's wife Michelle in period correct attire, backing him up just like they did in the 60's!
I think Paul Mcartney had one built for him.Used to see the Willy's Studes and Anglias race on the dragstrip in the sixties. That tiny Anglia was the meanest of the bunch !
Neat pair of “period Anglia gassers”. Great entertainment seeing them up on the wheelie bars. Check out the Outlaw Anglias here in the U.K.. Santa Pod 2021, for some 6 and 7 seconds 1/4 mile racing.
Over here in merry olde England we have a special place in our hearts for these mad men in their Anglias and back in the late 1970's there was one red Anglia which we nicknamed Puddlejumper because of it's habit of lifting one, two or sometimes three or even all four wheels at any random time on the strip especially at our beloved Santa Pod. Long live these crazy brave fools and their wild rides ! - the Anglia is the perfect body shape for such a car and I've seen one street-driven madman using a 661CUI engine - Lord only knows how he controls that beast.
Almost traded my 72 Sportster 1000 for a 72 Vega GT, as I was getting married soon. I changed my mind, WHEW ! However, divorced of that abomination of an engine, they could be a terror with a small-block V-8
Too cool car ... Looks super dangerous, though what with the short wheelbase & 50 yr. old front suspension .... Wish I could have lined my e85 / ZL1 up beside you and given you some fast (& safety) lessons ...

@@jeromebreeding3302 That's interesting thanks for watching!
The cool factor is off the charts!
It must be tough to control that short wheelbase monster. Looks like great fun!
Nasty little car. Gotta love gassers..

Those are some BAD GIRLS
what a bad ass Anglia, sweet. I've got a friend with one, it runs B/G-S/C (500ci BBC), it's a handful too, 8.60s @ 150mph
Nice!
Wow, that is a nasty little critter! Are you guys coming to Cordova on the 12th?
10.47? Is that the best you can do in an all out lightweight door car? Only about a second off what it should do.
He had trouble with adjusting suspension that day.
Naturally I was expecting a flip front-end. But stock? Looks like it could be 'glass but made to open like the original. Either way,,kudos
reminds me of jack merkels willys.and stone woods and cooks.
Awesome car could have called it Baconator
Man o man. When u do a burnout before a run and it just can't push smoke any faster
.....thats AMERICA
It needs an 8-71
I don't think it needs more power than it already has 😄
@@RACEYOURRIDE never have too much power I raced a Chevy Vega with a big block with a blower it's a handful
@@leesmith9455 True... I had a '71 Vega love those!

…but even the lowly Tesla Model 3 would leave him at the tree, unable to catch up.
Wait you're comparing this to a Tesla? 😄👌

The music junked another video 👎👎👎👎👎💩😬😬😬
I guess you prefer silence or random noise in the pits huh 😏
What home hack welded that cage? No way this car would not have passed tech in my lanes. I'd hand them a rule book. Booger welding in a bad way.
Nhra track im guessing it passes.
