Great spotlight Jay your Sand diver so awesome correct sizing tank you need 8-10 foot set up to breed. That's why i don't keep them. Rather enjoy looking on our community to enjoy. Not wanting to offend my other friends but Jay yours are the best.
Enjoying my day little tired as moved equipment in the small external shed so that I could put power in for the tropical set up. running two heaters over winter. Trying to get some insulation sheeting to encapsulate the base sides. will shoot a vid soon. Plus done maintenance to my Tropheus tank. No rest for the whicked lol.
lol 8 ft setup, i just bred them in a 40g cube over 2 month span, collected my 100 fry, moved my females to female tank and fry are growing out, male went to my show tank.
ive had colonies fail in my cube breeders, it doesn't work for them all but i would have to say that the rostratus is right up there with my phenos, very docile breeders, just provide lots of cave space for the females to feel comfortable and safe to start producing eggs. mind you i only use my cube breeders for short periods at a time, usually 2 months tops. in my 40g cube breeder i had 1m 4f rostratus.
That reminds me. I went to pull my red empress out of my tank and all of a sudden he vanished. it looked for almost 10 minutes before I realized he buried himself in the sand.
Jay what is the name of the bright yellow fish with 2 black spots? also you have a smaller fish that looks like a peacock that is light yellow with black on the fins what is its name?

Jay what is the name of the bright yellow fish with 2 black spots? also you have a smaller fish that looks like a peacock that is light yellow with black on the fins what is its name?

Did you read my mind? I've been looking into these guys recently
Chicken Tenders I did read your mind now I want Chicken nuggets! How did you do that!
Beautiful selection of fish it's cool you are not doing peacocks
walter otiepka thanks buddy
Love that cat fish, what is that?
Orlando Felix honestly I do not know.
Thanks
Moori's also hide in the sand. :)
Never saw this.
I have one and he’s started to gulp a lot any ideas all other fish ok water is ok I just added crushed coral on top of sand ??
You changed the water chemistry. If he wasn’t before the culprit would be the addition. Check PH and ammonia.
@@Jaywil07 do I take it back out ??
@@Jaywil07 ph is 7.8 and everything else is good
impatient people should stick to peacocks. Stunning fish!
Corey Hecker thank you so much bud.
Just ordered one
Aragonite sand any good?
+Deon 0026 of course
Malawi Croaker
Don’t you miss this tank

Do u own a dim kiwinge..yes or no
Would one of these guys do well in a 135(72"x18"x24")?
Yes!
Jay Wilson awesome. I've been wanting one of these guys for a while but was afraid it'd grow too large. Now to find one lol.
did the anal/ tail fins become long in due time? mine was bought as a male so i think its male but people tell me its female because of round fins
Deon 0026 they are getting longer
Jay Wilson thanks Jay
