Hey man, that's crazy I was watching your video for the same issue and it's crazy that you live in Abilene as well. There really isn't any GTI's around here.
Thanks, having the same issue and attempting to take the whole seat cushion out like I originally planned is too much of a pita to even bother (would have just sourced a whole new seat).
The module's mounted to the underside of the front passenger seat, just peek under there from the footwell and you'll see it And as for the bypass method, it involves rigging resistors into specific connectors while also knowing the voltage output and other smart electrical lingo that's way out of my level of knowledge 😂😂 Just look up "DIY Seat Airbag Resistor trick w/ Pressure Sensor Trick" and you'll see a few threads :)
Thanks for the video, but there is a good chance that all you needed to do was to recalibrate the original/existing module, with no need to replace it. That was the case for me. Sometimes a jolt to the seat or backrest is interpreted by the computer as an accident and the module just needs to be recalibrated. Worth a try before any replacement. Perhaps this will help someone.
I have a 2011 Jetta with a seat code they said it was going to be 1600.00 to replace it I have to get an inspection done at the DMV And the light is on
I have a 2006 vw jetta and my passenger light came on and says passenger airbag off and won't ding anymore if a passenger is sitting without the seatbelt how do I fix it?
Driving to your Air Force recruiter or from….. makes no matter….. we all cannot be in the Navy….. yes…. These Volkswagen lights on the dash suck balls!!!! All kinds of over engineering with German cars….
Anger management classes for Volkswagen owners are cheaper than punching through walls and throwing things…. On second thought…. You would do great in the Navy….. skip the Air Force with that attitude…. They will fire you all angered up over a car…. Wait til your desk and chair fails you in the office in the Air Force…. Go to the Navy or Marines with all that anger…. You might last 20 years instead of 20 days…..
Thanks dude, very informative.
Hey, why is "Do not disconnect or change any component of the system" printed on the control module?
It's look like he is not responding. Why do a video explaining how to fix it whihout providing part number and also don't replying user doubts ilarius

How much was your intake mani lol and ya I have my air bag light is on 2 it was for a seat belt I think and it's like 200 ish
Just out of curiosity, how much time would you say you spent total on fixing this issue (video included)? Time = money.
Dude are you a pilot?
man only 50$ for recalibration was that a special hook up?
For real, VW is quoting my brother over $500 to reprogram it and a local airbag mechanic is charging roughly $250
please provide parts number?
