I don’t play Siege anymore, but this really does embody what I enjoyed about Siege the most, setting up scenarios to tip the scales in your favor. Using all the tools at your disposal to either gain an edge or trip up your enemy. Then it became all about wiggling like a worm, and running around like CoD with equal toxicity to match… (In my experience at least.)
This is an excellent breakdown! You've got a great grasp on how to use Deimos effectively! I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for your future work. Cheers, -Deimos' designer
Thank you so much! You and the team did a great job with Deimos, and your recent X/Twitter thread on the intricacies of designing Operators was fascinating!
I main Deimos and Brava in attack and soon realised shooting through the floor is just wasting a ability as you hit about 1 shot then it’s done so only do it if there is a hatch and they are close to it
2:15 prior knowledge of the area is my problem so far. So many new maps and map reworks since I last played. Not complaining, I just need to put in some time. Videos like this are perfect to learn this all so much faster, thank you.
Most of the time, Deimos likes to tunnel his target and ignore anything else, so my favorite strategy on defense is to play cav, purposely get spotted, then grab a teammate and set up a trap for Deimos. Works a lot of the time
Taking lion on attack is a pretty good solution if defenders haven't been identified, I recently came to know that Lion scan reveals the enemy ops so a quick lion scan right from spawn where most defenders don't care about pings is pretty useful. Also I love playing blitz with my diemos teammate to hunt cav 😜
I just started playing again after years.. last characters I had were lion and finka.. I'm wanting Deimos just because I pick characters over looks b4 abilities 😅
I have a few more tip I have but never use it yet cause I don't have Deimos. 1.If there 2 enemies on site and another is missing, you can use gadged to scan and if he on site then no need concern about get flank. 2.Use to push roamer back on site or attack him, some roamer is problem like cav or pulse, if they get scan most likely they get kill if they not run away, and if they run away into site they can't do anything cause they skill not good to play on site either.
Honestly I think that deimos' .44 vendetta is easily the best gun in their load out. The .44 has the only 1.5x in the game and it is probably the best pistol too
Because you have the advantage of already being in the building and letting the attackers come to you. I love using shotguns in this game, they’re way more fun than your typical rifle.
Creating rotations and holding close range angles. I don't see anything wrong with using shotguns on mute and smoke. The smg 11 is basically a second primary weapon anyway.
A better way to play him, Is like in chess when you want to take out the queen... Figure out which player strategically makes sense to eliminate e.g... Echo.. Can't stop the plant, Mozzie can't move the drones, solis etx.. Use the death mark to put a hit out on one of the key enemy players... And have your team sneak in and hunt that person out while they are distracted on your ping Macgyver.SORT
@@SekiroSlothbecause you have a better chance of hitting the beams within the hatch. The hatch only breaks if you destroy the beams in it. Thats why crouching/proning works well

I use the shotgun over the AR every time. I use Deimos vertically most of the time, so I like to create my own little rotates beneath site so I can bounce back and forth if I’m tracking someone who is also bouncing back and forth between sites
I use shotgun because its better than his primary weapons, and the shotgun is better than it at close range, meanwhile the ak is good at the same as the pistol
apologies but 3:59 was horrible decison making. you forget to ping the castle barricades and for some reason tracked the thunderbird over the lesion who probably commed your flank. Thats a huge mistake for a deimos, not to mention castle would be the most obvious pick since prep phase had just ended. no hate if it was a solid effort, but that to me really ruins the credibity of this video
Yes, I missed the castle barricade, that’s valid. But I still had no idea if it was castle who was in warehouse or not. Also the prep phase had not “just ended”, this was nearly a full minute into the round. You can also see that 10 seconds after I get off drone the lesion is dead, which is why I pinged thunderbird since she’s literally the only person I could ping
it still seemed like a scuffed attack for a deimos, you were on the flank and by pinging the thunderbird you gave yourself out if they made the comm (you might have been able to sneak past the cam). your right about the lesion, but that makes it worse because in a 4v3 theres almost 0 chance theres 2 roamers off site, with especially thunderbirds tending to anchor. missing the castle was a huge mistake to add to a video@@Willusive
@@cccbowers914but in the clip I’m talking about what to do when your Deathmark ping turns out to be useless. You’re right in that I missed the info of the barricade in warehouse, but that doesn’t invalidate what I’m saying nor what the clip shows. I found myself in a situation where I had one op to ping and when I pinged them it was basically useless to me, I never claimed that it wasn’t my own stupid fault that I found myself in said situation. You’re also right in that pinging TB gives her the opportunity to call me out, which I address in the clip and state as one of my reasons for cancelling the DeathMark (what the entire clip was originally about). I’m also not really flanking since I’m pushing rafters head on knowing someone was playing up there. You’re very much right, I made mistakes throughout this clip, but the purpose of the clip is almost showing how I overcame such mistakes through the cancel and re-activation of the DeathMark. Inherently finding yourself in a situation with limited info and no drones is always derivative of a mistake/mistakes in some form or another anyway. If I’d just shown and talked about clips of flawless rounds and situations where everything went perfect, that’s not exactly helpful for a guide since then anyone following the guide has no idea what to do when something goes wrong. This isn’t some unintended mistake I meant to cut out of the video, it’s essential to what I’m talking about in this part of the guide. Sure, if I’d wanted to paint myself as some godlike player who makes no mistakes and can guide others to the same level of success, then I wouldn’t have put this clip in, but I’m far from that and I thought the clip worked well in showing how to overcome less-than-ideal situations (that I put myself in through a series of errors), and so I put the clip in. If that reduces my video’s credibility in your eyes then that’s fine, but I feel it’d be more disingenuous and less credible to only use clips of me using Deimos perfectly without fail, since that’s not what happened while I learned to play him. Hence why I cut to the same embarrassing clip twice of me tunnel-visioning in Border workshop and getting destroyed by the Jäger when detailing what *not* to do.
@@cccbowers914 let me summarise then: that entire paragraph is me saying that the “bad habit” in question was entirely essential to what I was talking about and I never claimed to present nor aimed to show a video full of flawless gameplay, because who is that helpful to? I literally cut to a clip of me dying to tunnel-vision in the video twice, and you seem to take no issue with that. If you’d read even the first few lines you would’ve gotten that. Why is it that regardless of what dialect the English speaker speaks, they have to mispronounce everything and every name? Or recreate the name or word in a stupid off way? And that is why English will always be the simpleton’s language, just as at first it was the barbaric one. Compared to the Latin descended languages of the people who made Europe what it is. Aka Romance or Italian, Spanish, French and Portuguese. The Latin dialects of civilized people and conquerors. What’s even funnier is how people in the states confirm that stereotype of ignorance by thinking it’s funny to mispronounce things. Anyway it’s dee-mohs (almost, thee-Mohs. Very silently on the Thee) not Dey-Moz. As an American of Mexican Italian descent who’s also an amateur historian. And who’s lingua-franca (mother tongue) is Latin (Roman) Spanish and therefore also Distantly related to Greek. Which is why many Latin dialects sound akin to Greek. And that’s what Deimos is. Greek. (Not the R6 operator) but his namesake. Which is also in connection with Ubisoft’s other popular longtime game series ‘Assassins Creed’ in odyssey. With an identical role to the one in rainbow six.
My apologies. My pronunciation is influenced by the way Harry said Deimos’ name in the first cinematic in which he appeared in. Given he’s written to be a man of high intelligence, and shares a British accent like my own, I took it upon myself to believe that this was at least somewhat close to the correct way of saying it. It would appear that was wrong. I completely agree that there’s a distinct ignorance about many English speakers across the world and particularly their pronunciation of words from foreign languages, and I in some cases (evidently not Deimos’) try my best to attempt a somewhat authentic pronunciation of operator names (Kaid, Azami etc.), and yet I still do fail according to many whom speak the dialect fluently. The only reason I can offer is that I cannot help that I will be influenced by not only fellow English speakers, but also the typical phonetics of the language and how those are generally said in my accent, and hence why Deimos comes out in the way it does. For example, I formerly said “Azami” as “ah za me” as opposed to “ah zar me” simply because my regional accent from the Midlands of the UK pronounces “a” as “ah” instead of “ar” (Grass is “gr ah ss” and not “gr ar ss”, same for “glass”, “bath” etc.) I can only believe that this is the case for all languages and dialects across the world, and that non-English speakers similarly mispronounce the English names of Siege operators. But with English being as popular and diversely spoken as it is (and like you say, with many of its speakers being so painfully ignorant to other languages) I understand your frustration. Thank you for educating me, although I cannot promise that my pronunciation will change right away, if at all. Pronunciations are a hard habit to break in my experience especially when you formerly thought there was no reason to consider any other possible pronunciation, like in this case given that I had only ever heard it spoken this way.
If the target is getting too close, canceling the ping and using the shotgun works like a charm.
