@chantellharland7411 no, that's not how it works, we can see in change your mind that when white diamond pulls out Steven's gem that he ended up nearly dying and is so weak he can't stand up or even barely move without support because his organic half cannot live without his gem half, it is unknown whether his gem half can live without his organic half but judging that pink Steven's only goal was to merge back with his organic half, it's neither can live without each other Think of Steven and Pink Steven together as a full being, his organic part is one half and pink Steven is the other half, without each other they would never be a full being And besides that, his organic half most likely won't have enough DNA to live long if he stayed separated from his gem half, Pink diamond/Rose had to do research on human biology to have Steven, you have to get an x chromosome from your mother and the extra x or having a y is from the father, there's a chance that Steven got his x from his mother's gem (aka passed down DNA) which is why she couldn't be there while Steven is also there (Don't ask me how that works but that's my working theory on it since Steven couldn't have lived without getting an x from his mother as people with only one y can't live due to having no x chromosome and people with x chromosome only tend to have shorter life expectancy though it is possible to live with one x)
