And second of all, if you're talking about the current strongest in the crystal gem, Lapis is more powerful and stronger than garnet she literally beats garnet , pearl and amethyst (ofcourse steven can beat any gem) and if you're talking about the season 1-3, yes garnet is the strongest but they don't need to know in the reaction videos since they already know she's the second strongest crystal gem besides rose quartz.
