If you’re having problems with that camera, buy a Wi-Fi extender. Plug it in inside the house close to where that camera is, and connect to the network instead. Works like a charm. You can also use that for devices in the house that are further away from your router.
I just got this camera a couple days ago... I had to fight with the scanning the mark. I gave up up swinging the phone downward and it scanned.. lol. I like it so far. I ordered a couple more.
Have you thought about buying their DVR unit? I saw that's an option although not as popular, but you wouldn't have to pay a subscription every year. Just doing my research for a system for my home. Thanks for the great video
Awesome!! Because of your review I will be purchasing these cameras!! It’s our first time installing cameras at home & it’s overwhelming trying to find something easy & that works! So, thanks for this great review! 🙏🏼
The free version does allow you to scrub through the past 12 hours of recorded motion. You can save any of these recordings to your phone. The only thing I found is that it will only record motion that occurs five minutes apart. In other words, if it records a motion and then there is another motion detected three minutes later, it will not record that motion. And this system does allow you to view cameras on TV using Google Assistant.
Thank you for that bit of info. I have had these in my cart for a while now, I was just not sure if the free option was worth the purchase. I was afraid that they artificially crippled its features so badly that it would now be worth the purchase. That 5 min cooldown time though is a bit worrying. It seems most manufactures are goin this route. I would much rather have something that comes with a DVR and records locally with the option to go to the cloud if needed.
I see you got the EOS R6 congrats, I just started a year ago. Actually your videos were my fave for reviewing the t7i, very just honest opinion is how I felt they were. Congrats on the R6. Actually, question. For my t7i, I have the stock 18-55 and a zoom lens the bundle came with, bought the F1.8 50 which I love but what lens to buy next? I like capturing landscape but also have learned to love the closeups the 50 produces. I'm thinking you'll lean towards the sigam lens you really like, did hear you say something about having to calibrate it a bit.
I have 4 cameras, work fine. I have two used Zmodo cameras from my don in law. I cannot get them to connect at all. Hi, thank you for the video, verry informative. Do you know why I don't have a blinking green? MY are solid green and can't find the network on the phone. Any ideas?
Have you already connected them to your network? If so try unplugging them for about 10 seconds. Mine will occasionally lose connection and that reconnects them.
@@FitsandFun They were connected to another network and I have moved them to different location. When trying to reconnect had only solid green and can't find a way to connect.
I had all four cameras hooked up on mine and then I got a different Wi-Fi and for some reason it only hooked back up to two of them I don't understand but now it only one of them came unplugged and I hooked it back up and now I only have one camera so when you go back into rehook them back up I don't remember if it's zinc or whatever the heck it is and it says how many devices do you have? I have four total but one of them is working so do I put three then or just still put four? Any help would be appreciated
Wow, I have no idea. I hooked mine up a few years ago and haven't changed anything since. Other than the occasional unplug and plug back in to automatically reconnect to the router. Other than that, I haven't done anything past the original hookup and sync. Sorry.
How did you get your camera to move angles , mine just focuses far and near also do you know why there is a speaker symbol on camera view but not accessible, thank for your video very informative
It didn't move angles, I zoomed in digitally and was able to move around inside the image. As far as the sound, I guess other cameras Zmodo sells have two way speakers, or sound? I'm not sure about that.
I have a random question. You have your cameras plugged in outside correct? are the cords including the extended portion of cables weather resistant? and does each camera need a extended cable? Trying to figure out how many cords are needed. Thanks in advance.
I did buy extensions, each camera needs to be plugged in and comes with about a 10ft cord. Sorry I don't know the exact lengrh. I linked the extensions below the video, they held up all winter exposed to the elements. I did wrap the point of connection with tape just to keep the ice out. But so far so good after a cold, snowing winter.
I’m trying to figure out what to do in regards to the camera and power for it. You don’t wanna plug it in outside, someone can easily cut the cord if that’s the case. Not sure if I should look for a battery powered camera, or if there is an easier way the power of these without taking the chance of someone cutting it…
I'm not worried about it, they'd be saved to the cloud before they cut them. Plus with the house alarm, and then our guns, I think they'd be in trouble if they tried anything. These are just nice, inexpensive, hd cameras that were super easy to set up and monitor no matter where I am.
By the time they cut the power, you should have gotten a motion detection and have them recorded, which is stored on your account for at least 12 hours.
I never noticed you don't have them going through the wall so that they cannot be unplugged. I drilled holes where ever I mounted mine so that the cords go through the walls so no one can unplug them. Anyone can just walk up and unplug them the way you have yours set up.
Yes they can. But I'd see them and it would save to the cloud for me to view. I'm selling the house very soon, this was a temporary way to keep an eye on things.
I'm sorry, but I made this video a long time ago and don't remember exactly how I set them up. I only remember it worked exactly as the directions said. And I've been using them every since with few issues.
Seems so easy until you have to set up yourself. The thing is that Zmodo found my cameras when it came to payment for the cloud service but when I try to link the Zmodo account to Google Assistant it says I have no devices registered on the app. I monitor both my cameras through the app so they must be there! Also Alexa does not even recognise that I have a Zmodo camera (two for that matter) attached to the system. Come on Zmodo get your act together!
If you have a good wifi it works very good and you can watch it on alexa show. I had at and t and it show up clear even at night. I switch from at and t now I having problems seeing clear at nigjt.
Does anyone know how to make these work good while watching on my pc? I've had these for a few years now and I think they suck big time!!! I work from home and have the camera live view up on my pc all the time and it is horrific!!! Stops working constantly, major choppy, delayed......just horrible! Their tech support never has any answers either except that maybe my internet is slow which it is not. I hate these cameras and cannot wait to get a good pair.
Yes you do have to keep it plugged in. Wireless is an understood term for wireless internet connectivity. It's not wire free, or battery operated. Would be hard to swap batteries daily.
It uses a wireless WiFi connection to connect to your account on your Iphone or IPad. You do not have to run a data cable from the camera to the inside of your home. He wire connection is only to power the camera.
@@FitsandFun actually having the cables and cameras in view might act as a deterrent. I would rather have a criminal see the cameras and cables and decide to leave my home alone, than try to identify them after the fact!
I don't, anyone can walk up and unplug it. However, they'd have to be on camera to do so, which would be saved to the cloud. So I'd see them either way. I installed them the lazy way.
We just got a four pack. I'm thinking about getting a few 20 foot sections of extension cables, a trickle charger, 12 volt battery, and using a cell phone as a hotspot to run the cameras. It may be a fun project.
