The best analogy I can think of for visiting fans going to a night game against a top opponent at Tiger Stadium for the first time would be to imagine yourself as a high school freshman going to your first really big party out in the woods where there's no adults around. It's dark and you don't know exactly where you're walking to. The campus is awash in obnoxiously loud music pumping through DJ speakers. Beer pong and keg stands are happening everywhere. Smoking hot co-eds are steadily walking by in packs with beverages in hand. Everyone except you seems to be deeply under the influence. The general level of rowdiness is unnerving. You think making your way into the stadium will give you a slight reprieve, only to find out this sense of uneasiness has intensified. It's Saturday night in Death Valley.....
A high profile, night game at Jordan-Hare is the most dramatic, electric atmosphere that ive ever experienced. Ive been to packed concerts that didnt have quite the buzz that JHS had.

As a die hard Alabama fan, I can’t believe the swamp wasn’t in here. Death Valley is hostile because Louisiana is full of fucking crazy people, but I’m telling you I’ve never heard a crowd like I did in Gainesville. I’ve been to Bryant Denny, Neyland, Kyle field, Sanford, and The Swamp and it is simply different.
I was rather dissapointed you fail to rank J.W.Renolds Razorback stadium you must attend a game there and experience the "HOG CALL" especially when the visitors are Alabama , Texas , LSU , Tennessee , or Ole Miss , Put the Sooners on that list as well. So come visit Fayettiville for a game and try calling the Hogs !!!
Saturday night in Death Valley, it doesn't get any better. 💛💜. I still love reading about Bear Bryant talking about playing in Tiger Stadium, he said it was like being in a drum. GEAUX TIGERS!!⚜️🐅
Well, I’ve been to almost all these stadiums and it’s either Neyland or Death Valley. 1a and 1b. We’re talking atmosphere, though. If you want nicest, it’s Bryant-Denny. But it’s also the quietest 100K stadium I’ve ever been in. The team is intimidating, the fans aren’t.
As a Bama fan, I completely agree with your assessment of Bryant-Denny. The noise is missing for several reasons. One of them being the design; there's nothing there to hold any sound in whatsoever. Another thing is just the overall fanbase. We've seen a ton of absolute blowouts in that stadium over the years so it's hard to get 100k plus rowdy at all times. Also, I was at a Western Kentucky game once and when they came out I started booing like a lot of other fans do to at least TRY to be a factor in the game. I had a lady turn around and say, "aw, don't do that hon, it's not hospitable". lol
@@JSchaffer214 See, as a Tennessee fan, we have been on the receiving end of so many blowouts for the last decade, all class left a long time ago. Booing is absolutely encouraged and rowdiness will happen against WKU and Alabama alike. “F*** you, Florida” chants are commonplace.
As a UGA fan imo Tiger Stadium is #1. The fans there will yell TigerBait or GueixTiger at you or somesuch as you walk by, but that's about it. Then they offer you up some gumbo. They are drunk by 11:00 am and the place is rocking. Oh yeah, hot girls too, but they are everywhere in the SEC except Auburn.
I believe the title of this should have been "Favorite SEC Game Day Experiences" instead of using the word "stadiums". When you bring up unlimited ice coffee, how media is fed, fans, uncomfortable walks, light shows, etc.... that is more about the experience. The structure itself, the design and such would be the stadium for me. However, I do still appreciate your list and your work. Keep it up. Thank you.
Here is the thing about LSU fans at Tiger Stadium.... they see you in opposing colors, your getting the tiger bait chant. But if your cool and a good sport they will love you to death. They are very interactive with opposing fans but really don’t mean any harm. Just having a good time.
Very well put. I was a student at LSU last year and have been a fan since i was 3. People think LSU fans hate other fans of other teams. We don’t hate the fans. We hate the team. But if you’re friendly and can give and take some trash talk, everyone is super friendly
The trash talk and yelling "Tiger Bait" is just the way Tiger fans show affection. They're generally very lovable and if tailgating will offer you food. If they really, really don't like you, they have been known to throw empty whiskey bottles.
If some guy wants to get offended because an 8 year old yelled Tiger Bait at him when he came to LSU wearing red and white, that's on him. Most people know the drill and talk back with a smile.
When LSU came up to Syracuse to play a few years back, the LSU fans were absolutely awesome. Had a blast interacting with them before and after the game.
We have season tickets at LSU stadium. And it is true. If opposing team fans are cool. We all treat them like one of the family. But out of all teams in the SEC. Auburn has the most friendly fans that show up at our stadium. And also as friendly at theirs. We have the most respect for Auburn even though they are a rival team.
I'm not saying it should be #1 but how does the swamp not even get an honorable mention?? BHG is shaped differently from other stadiums in a way that puts the fans significantly closer to the field.
yeah, it is only 100 miles between Austin and College Station, and in terms of Texas, that is nothing. That is at worse a 2 hour drive based on traffic near the BCS area, but if you go the day before, it is 1:15 to 1:30 depending on how fast you are willing to drive.
Tiger Stadium is greatest NCAAF D-1a venue as rated by many adversaries, coaches & media reviews, and the atmosphere is the most hostile but most gracious recipients of opponents. They share everything until gametime and after we end. Where else can you see a 6oo pound Bengal-Siberian mix across the pedestrian mall (street) from the stadium ???
FunFact… Bama was 1st stadium with LEDs. People assume UGA was since seen first nationally against ND. IMO BryantDenny’s do look better especially how they’re mounted semi circled along the high rise covers and not on light poles like every other stadium.
What a waste of time...... Lol.... Kyle field and South Carolina?? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA... You crazy bro? I am an Auburn fan but for me top 5 SEC stadiums are: 1) Tiger Stadium (LSU) hands down, 2) Swamp (Florida) I was there this last season and it is crazy AF 3) Jordan Hare especially during Amen Corner 4) Bryant-Denny 5) Neyland (Tenn).
I think he's ranking them based off of how he's been to them. Not just how big and loud they are and the feel of it during the games, but also behind the scenes and what they have to offer, etc.
I completely agree with your list. He is ranking them off of the food traffic and media box. Not as a fan going to games and sitting in the actual seats.
When Arkansas has it going Fayetteville is very underrated. Love the stadium and how you can see Ozarks from the top row and Dickson Street is very lovely area.
Hey Josh Ik this comment is pretty late but I just saw this video anyway. It’s nice. But man, that 2018 Tennessee-Auburn game was like watching a Vandy game in Nashville. The fans didn’t care one bit. It was an 11AM kickoff, though, so I understand. I need to go again for a UGA or Bama game at night.
Wow Josh Pate ! Loved your report on best SEC statiums, cuz you've been there & not judging from TV. Not many of us SEC fans get to go to those games - too pricey for us Po Folks. From what I've seen on TV - they're all great and I appreciate your first hand experience. I was in the Swamp for the night game vs LSU tho. LSU won in overtime on a FAKE EXTRA POINT !!! I stopped watching as soon as you said Neyland wasn’t in even in the top 3. Have you not heard interviews from other players like Baker Mayfield and Brady Quinn talk about the atmosphere?!
A few of these were based off how they treated press? Surprised UF and Mississippi State weren’t on the list. The only video I’ve probably disagreed on a topic with you.
Garrison Ridgway you clearly haven’t been there, we’ve had a poster stuck up in the top left corner from the 90s “slap em silly gators”. We also don’t have seats in our stadiums, you literally sit in bleachers, we’ve kept the same type of stadium for a while, the lack of modernization shows how loyal our fans are. The stadium is also open to the community every day of the week, so fan can tour it and jog stadiums there, something not common at all and very unique. But your statement that “the UF stadium isn’t unique at all” is a true sign of ignorance.
@@craigpegasus I've been very happy with Beamer. He has the right idea of what needs to be done and really wants to be here. You never got the feeling that mustchump liked the school or fans and was simply here for the money. NO WAY he would have won more than a couple of games last year. If any.
@@claygreen4723 Yeah as a Georgia fan I agree. Don’t get me wrong, WM a great defensive mind, and I’m glad we have him as DC (or co-DC ig), but he was never good at running a program. I thought Beamer had potential since the Georgia game, the level of energy and passion he kept on the sideline, even when Carolina was getting blown out. What really sold me though was what he said after the Florida game: “for those of you who didn’t show up, you missed one hell of a game from our team!” That’s a guy who takes PRIDE in his program. I’m hoping y’all have a great season next year, there’s tons of potential for sure.
@@craigpegasus I agree with Beamer and the attitude change. Some guys just aren't cut out to be head coaches. And even head coaches at particular schools. That's what makes me scratch my head sometimes and wonder what makes some guys different? They all know the exact same things and have worked with and under the same ideas. It's crazy!
Neyland is the best stadium in the south maybe the entire country you e never been there when it mattered and let me tell you it feels like the damn place is gonna implode! Go Vols !
Ok where is the Swamp on this list. No matter what team we play the stadium is packed and the crowd is rowdy. The fan pressure that can be created to mess with the other team is insane. Gators should at least be 3 on this list
Neyland at 5 that’s pretty dumb everyone that plays against Tennessee during their college career always says that it’s the hardest to play at and is very, very loud
South Carolina's stadium is a train yard. Have been there 3 times and I kept expecting the stock yards to open up. Neyland is so far ahead of Williams-Brice, it's ridiculous. Have you been to a big night game at Neyland - especially when Tennessee is good ? It has been named by several past opponents as the loudest stadium they played in during their college careers. Sure, the Vols have been down for a few years, but even now, Vol fans fill the place up and support the program. So ............. go back in a couple of years when, hopefully, Tennessee starts to get good again and you will see a game-day atmosphere that is electric - without any wacked out light shows. The two hours pre-game and then into the game itself is the best in the country for a big game.
Keith Barnes Go VOLS! The fact that Tennessee fans show up in sell out numbers DESPITE being large underdogs qualifies them to be on the list. It’s one of the loudest stadiums not just in the SEC but in the country. Our respect is coming soon.
Chicken4life But you said it was a joke. Why don’t you name the announcers? I don’t care what the national media says about the Gators. Nobody thought we would beat Ohio State in football or basketball and yet we did for both championships. Have you even been to the stadium? It’s louder than your stadium.
Not sure how media food affects a stadium ranking. Is it all about your experience or the fan experience? Where would you want to go to see an away game? As a 🐊, I missed the Spurrier ass kicking between the hedges. It would have been my favorite stadium to see an away game. Auburn was awesome. Tennessee too. But ice coffee? Good food? But after your Best Jobs Rankings and Favorite Stadium rankings I am seeing the Florida negative bias. Brice above Ben Hill Griffin? You are showing your bias.
There's another reason why Neyland Stadium isn't on this list. It's an enormous trashcan. Seriously, they never did a good job of upkeeping on that place. I was in college marching band, so I've been to a few stadiums: 5. South Carolina 4. Texas A&M 3. Georgia 2. LSU (mainly for the food, but also for the atmosphere) 1. Alabama (I'm biased, sue me. But you would simply be lying if you don't think Bryant Denny is a work in art) Specifically not on this list: Tennessee for reasons above. Florida because it's weird. Auburn because their stadium is just simply underwhelming, and I'm not being biased here. Seriously, no upper deck endzones, play clocks on ground floor, can't fill out their own stadium except the Iron Bowl.
By 2023, Neyland will be completely updated. Here’s a link: www.rockytopinsider.com/2019/11/08/fulmer-updates-plans-for-neyland-stadium-renovations/ Then we’ll be #1 by a mile😃. Bryant-Denny is a great stadium, but it resides in the state of Alabama, so it’s a net negative because Alabama is the 2nd worst state in the South. But at least you’re not Mississippi, I guess.
@@TheMacC117 Get over yourself. The Vols-Bama rivalry has always run in streaks and Tennessee owns the longest streak of all Alabama opponents. Tennessee has had several 4-7 game winning streaks vs Alabama through the years - late 30's, twice in the 50's, late 60's, early 80's. We owned your sorry ass in the 90's through mid-2000's. The team will be back soon enough and Neyland, which has more tradition than Bryant-Denny ever thought about, is being internally renovated as we speak. You used to play your big games at Legion Field in Birmingham - how bad is that ? We just needed to get a real Athletics Director back in charge instead of the pencil-neck geeks they were hiring after Coach Dickey retired. Coach Fulmer is correcting a decade of bad management and bad coaches.
Kroger Field is not huge like some stadiums, but it's the most optimized for a TV experience. Every aspect of the remodel was about how things looked on TV. That's something not everyone thinks about, but it matters for fandom and recruiting.
Wait, Neyland Stadium is not in the list because you’ve never seen a game there when they were any good, but then you include South Carolina???? 🙄🙄🙄. And of course more ridiculous over-rating of Georgia, as usual.

Chill Will wow man so cool...
Garrison Ridgway just wanted to inform you since you felt the need to reply with an ignorant statement.
Maybe UF, but MSState would be on the bottom 5 list.
Neyland💯 Period.
Love a fourth quarter at Sanford
Guess we'll never know what could be at Williams-Brice under will mustgochamp and mike bobo. Maybe the next guy can get it done.
How do you like beamer ball so far
Go Vols !
Lsu is the best
Kyle Field is better......... and the Aggies BTHO LSU
You really do hate Florida.
Topographically.
Awesome list‼️ #GeauxTigers
jordan hare then lsu and swamp for sec, ask, saban about dye field
In what world is Jordan Hare better than Tiger Stadium? It's a fantastic place and extraordinary to watch a game there, but c'mon man!
Eric S Kyle field runs circles around Auburn’s stadium
Ok where is the Swamp on this list. No matter what team we play the stadium is packed and the crowd is rowdy. The fan pressure that can be created to mess with the other team is insane. Gators should at least be 3 on this list
Jordan Hare should be on here
Lsu stadium is built to amp the noise up. Remember against auburn the crowd registered on the rector scale for a earthquake
One of my favorite moments from an SEC stadium was 2012 UGA - SC
LSU has the best stadium hands down
The Swamp doesn’t even get an honorable mention?!
Disagree Jordan hare has to be top 5. No matter what the ranking Auburn fans believe Auburn will win at home
Sanford Stadium was rocking against the Notre Shame Crying Irish
YesssssSirrrr, Go Dawgs!!!
Neyland at 5 that’s pretty dumb everyone that plays against Tennessee during their college career always says that it’s the hardest to play at and is very, very loud
I know the Oklahoma QB Mayfield talked about how loud UT was in 2015.
Jonathan Ross yeah he called it a different type of loud
That is not true. Stop.
sean callahan it is true
Actually, he didn’t even rank Tennessee in the top 5. Deal with it.
Yeah...USC? I was thinking...did it get some major overhaul? It reminded me of a poor minor league baseball stadium.
Neyland is so far behind Williams-Brice, it's ridiculous. Been to a night game in the orange jailhouse. IT'S A SHIT HOLE. Go back to bed!
No Florida Field? I've been to all stadiums accept Texas A & M and Missouri. UF is a top 3 stadium at least. USCe and UGA are nothing compared to UF.
Doesn’t Arkansas have that new stadium?
Not new stadium, but new north end zone addition/enclosure. Increases seating near 80k.
Well I watched for about 30 seconds.
Poor Tennessee. Your time will come.
Lol
🍊GO VOLS 🍊
Keith Barnes Go VOLS! The fact that Tennessee fans show up in sell out numbers DESPITE being large underdogs qualifies them to be on the list. It’s one of the loudest stadiums not just in the SEC but in the country. Our respect is coming soon.
Go damn Vols
Showing my fandom here, but hard disagree about how "good" the crimson and white look at Bama. Looks like actual trash to me.🤷♂️ Geaux Tigers
No Ben Hill Griffin stadium?
Scary James lol what? That stadium is a joke.
????? idk even know what team plays there 😂
Chicken4life
That’s an indefensible take.
Bucs Fan lol nobody says “Ben hill griffin stadium is the best” or some shit like that. I heard from announcers and shit that it’s horrible
Chicken4life
But you said it was a joke.
Well I do not know which is my fav stadium
El Mexico
B-D-Stadium, especially beating lsu, auburn, Georgia, etc
How’s Jordan-Hare not in the top 5?
The list is top 5 stadiums to cover games in. JHS hasn’t been modernized nearly to the degree these others have.
Kyle Field is better
Now to rank the worst sec stadiums. 1. Mississippi State
William Wright Vanderbilt Stadium has entered the chat....
There's another reason why Neyland Stadium isn't on this list.
It's an enormous trashcan. Seriously, they never did a good job of upkeeping on that place.
I was in college marching band, so I've been to a few stadiums:
5. South Carolina
4. Texas A&M
3. Georgia
2. LSU (mainly for the food, but also for the atmosphere)
1. Alabama (I'm biased, sue me. But you would simply be lying if you don't think Bryant Denny is a work in art)
Specifically not on this list:
Tennessee for reasons above.
Here’s a link:
www.rockytopinsider.com/2019/11/08/fulmer-updates-plans-for-neyland-stadium-renovations/
Then we’ll be #1 by a mile😃. Bryant-Denny is a great stadium, but it resides in the state of Alabama, so it’s a net negative because Alabama is the 2nd worst state in the South. But at least you’re not Mississippi, I guess.
@@justamaninTN It's painful, really, that Tennessee fans continue to do this to themselves.
Come on, really? Even a Bama fan should know better than LSU at #2.
@@JosephBKora Where should I have put them? Two out of 14 is pretty fucking good
@@TheMacC117 Get over yourself.
Maybe people will talk more about Kyle field if they stop making us play at 11 Am
11 am in Texas heat is no bueno. Always loath those games. Let us tailgate and have some fun prior to the game for a 4 pm kick off.
I overrated something on a list that's solely based on MY personal experience? That's interesting.
Geaux tigers🐯🐯🐯
USC does not compete with Tennessee in any way possible.
False. Tennessee is an overrated POS stadium. You don't compete again! Quit crying, child!
LSU and Gators 🐊
Shane 1178, LSU and Gators, what? Both have mostly knob gobbling, cum guzzling flamers for fans?
