The 765 is got a great life right now with the Indiana rail experience but the day she gets to pull the joliet rocket again Will be amazing to many and I’m hoping I get an opportunity to ride it one day
Thanks for the class recordings. A very nice steam locomotive :-) Best regards from Germany. Danke für die Klasse Aufnahmen .Eine sehr schöne Dampflokomotive :-) Freundliche Grüße aus Deutschland.

Phillip Bonner that’s actually what the safety valve is for and if your talking about a steam locomotive it’s because a sort of celebratory thing and if it’s a diesel locomotive and there are railfans it’s just for the satisfaction
I wish Metra should welcome Pere Marquette 1225 to run on their rails, so she can run in that speed like she did in 1991 running side by side with NKP 765, all she did is running slow from Owosso to Alma or any place she run on. 1225 is long for a nice 60 to 70 mph run. Like what the real Polar Express engine can really do in the movie!
@@royreynolds108 it 480 volts and the roller bearings are a railroad requirement, not Amtrak! Railroads don't want equipment with plain/friction bearing on their tracks.
there was no place to turn 765 around at lasalle street station, so a diesel had to pull it back to joliet, and before you say it, NO they wouldnt "Strasburg" it.
@@maxwellsteam5810 You mean run it tender first. It’s not a practice unique to the Strasburg Railroad. Many other operations do it both in America and internationally.
It’s a pity that commercial airlines took over most travel; passenger rail by night just beats the pants off American Airlines, United, Southwestern, etc...!! And the service (and food) was a lot better in the heyday of passenger rail travel!
Neat seeing an MP36 pull streamlined coaches! Made for a great opening shot!
Seeing that locomotive made me teary eyed.
That was really nice thanks everybody for your participation
Really awesome
YAAAAAY! That’s me right at 0:02 ! I was wondering who that would be up on the hill, guess it turned out to be you!

Really great video, thumbs up :)
Great video!
Hey that’s me up there at 4:11 !
This has much more shots of her going forwards instead of going backwards when she's deadheaded back to Joliet!
I can see myself in the beginning!
This is the very reason steam needs to be brought back it probably bring back the rail industry to
That is so funny I was on the first run going to La sale I was at Providence Catholic reffing a freshman game😂
Isn't it a bit strange the 765 has its headlight and mars light on, and no red lights when it is at the rear of the train at night?
Do the modern automatic signal lights change whenever steam trains of today pass each and everyone of them?

Just waiting for all the "Why do American engineers whistle all the time :P " comments...
They need to blow off excess Steam
Haha no
Every time they approach a crossing

Where were you I was at tinley park
Which whistle was 765 wearing during the excursion?
11:46 12:21
I went on that today
Since there's no turning.
Is that diesel suppling power to train & leading it
The diesel's for electricity, emergency power and other side functions.
All passenger cars are required to have Head End Power of 440 volts for heating and hotel functions and roller bearing trucks to match Amtrak.

why was the train going backwards it doesn't need a deseil
