Somtimes it pays to pull it appart and see if you can repair it. It's a nice little engine shame that they seaze all the time. Nice one mate good job 👊👍👈
Hi yes 4 stroke on tools that get moved side to side upside down etc wasn’t the brightest idea from Honda, but then Honda are known for there 4 stroke (though I actually have an old Honda 2 stroke, quite rare). I prefer standard 2 stroke as the engine always has lubrication. These little engines do sound nice though, thanks for watching🙂👍
Hi imo they are not the best, I think they are ok if they are on a machine that stays flat when using, hedge trimmers done so they do suffer problems, but for under £15 it was worth giving the repair a go. Thanks for watching🙂👍
I think honda was one of the first, there are some chinese ones like makita but i don't know the quality. Mine have been great so far albeit with some fuel delivery issues from new.
Hi Mick yes they are small, I’m not really a fan, I always think hedge trimmers / strimmers etc should be 2 stroke. Lots of these fail due to seizing, as I’ve shown they can be fixed but I think Honda would say they are throw away units as there is a lot messing trying to fix them.. Thanks for watching🙂👍
Hi Luke. They're a funky little engine aren't they, never worked on 1. I had a binge the other day a rebuilt 6 Stihl 4mix, not my favourite engines cus of weight and vibration. But the torque is brilliant. I wonder if part of a ring broke and damaged piston, looks like something jammed in there. Guess bearings were OK still? I've seen bearings break and do damage like that. I've bought some cheap Chinese piping bags for the Dirko, works a treat and looks like factory when reassembled. You could just make your own piping bag obviously. Great job👍😛
Hi tbh I don’t really like these engines also I’m not a fan of the Stihl 4 mix, I have though replaced a crank on a 4 mix a few years back. Personal I like standard 2 stroke stuff as they are much simpler. I wanted to try and fix this as the hedge trimmers are £500 ish new, the parts were cheap and it does run now and doesn’t smoke, I think the tappet needs adjusted as you see I did them, but one did keep coming looser, I will do that and try it on my own garden. I will sell it as I prefer my stihls and tanaka as they are all standard 2 stroke. These are just basically a small version of the gcv mower engines. Thanks for watching 🙂👍
It’s right I suggest you watch the video properly 13:40 I explain all, it wouldn’t run as good as it did if they were wrong, so I suggest you do it how I did.
It really doesn't matter if you assemble it with the arrow up or down. The flywheel turns twice for each rotation of the timing pully. 16 teeth on the crank pully, 32 teeth on the timing pully!! Rotate the crank once and the arrow is up, rotate another time and the arrow is down.

Glad you found it amusing but I can’t understand why, it was a customers machine and still running good to this day, I only sanded the scored part out.

Nice work. I've not seen such a small 4 stroke on a piece of machinery.

HI LUKE WELL DONE.
Thanks Shane, I couldn’t resist trying to fix it, it did smoke real bad before. Thanks for watching🙂👍
There is a ball bearing ball fallen out from the engine and don't know where it belongs. Do you have any idea where is it from
Hi it was a very long time I worked on this engine, I can’t remember sorry 🙂👍
The GX 25 has a ball bearing supported crankshaft. There are two ball bearings.
You need small hands to work on this lol runs good mate..

You timed that engine wrong that arrow has to be up at the top
I explain all around 13:40 you obviously didn’t watch the video properly, It was 100% right ran perfect afterwards.
the timing arrow goes up on cam. not down 😆😆🙈🙈

So, you just used sandpaper and sanded the cylinder? LOL
Glad you found it amusing but I can’t understand why, it was a customers machine and still running good to this day, I only sanded the scored part out.
I couldn't understand his high follutting French accent so ; sad to say , had to pass it up ............
