Nice apartments all…but I think I would choose the next to last one, the elevator noise would not bother me, and as long as I can go to the supermarche and pharmacie, I don’t really need much else. I think I can just take the bus to a busier part of the city for activities. Personally though, I would love to live in an area with lots of children and families, parcs, macaroons and cafes and I would be contente.

I used seloger to find it. I visited this place a year ago so it might or might not be still on the market.

Hi! Im moving to Paris soon! I wanted to find out from you how to navigate Seloger. Shouldni only contact places that have an agency representing the house, or is it safe to find a place advertised by a private individual. Could you also cover on the extra home costs that come with renting in Paris like home insurance, rent control, and service charges. Thank you so much!

Hello! 1st off...good luck with your search! It is ok to contact both agencies and private renters. Both have pluses and minuses. You have to be careful with all of them. Home insurance depends on your apt size and age. For ex: a 26 year old renting a 30m2 apt might pay 15/20e a month. There are many variables and the example I provided is not indicative of everyone! You can rent an apt that includes or excludes service charges. Lots of apt units will include certain charges but not all of them possible. You're gonna want to pay attention to a listing that says "chauffage (heating) collectif" or "chauffage (heating) individuels". I think collective heating is usually cheaper. What is nice about collective heating is that there are no curve balls or surprises about your heat bill at the end of the year. If you get an apt that has individual heating you will need to think about if it is gas powered or electric. If you are looking at seloger you will see that there is a letter rating system about energy consumption. If the apt has a rating of E, it is usually never a good sign. You will prob pay an arm and a leg.
I made a pretty comprehensive vid on apt searching. Hopefully it can answer any outstanding questions!
