    Cousin Billy I can't Convey to you on how much our family enjoyed your Luau ! Now your gonna think I'm a crazy but but your family and show made our vacation. With all vacation with a large family your bound to encounter a couple of bumps Bruises along the way on a long trip but you and your family made them all fade away through music and song and the food ! Holy cow Cousin the food was unbelievable! My family and I have eaten our way across Oahu and back and haven't Experience the quality of food that we had at your place ! So once again thank you and your family for ending our vacation on a high note and I may add a note that will never be surpassed

    I love how traditional chinese cooking is so mellow and in traditional polynesian cooking is so jazzy and cool

      Hehe... another Kenyan here. Very much into pacific islands culture, by way of rugby. I even know the Samoan anthem by heart lol... We eat the taro root in Kenya too. It's called 'nduma' in one of the local languages... or arrowroot

    Great video; I enjoyed it very much and it stirred up my appetite. Its always interesting to see how foods are prepared in other cultures. I love taro ( malanga ) but have never had it with coconut milk; will have to try it! The guys' sense of humor was also very refreshing! I have two trouts that I bought yesterday and am going to try to prepare them in a similar way, but in a stove of course, since I live in New Jersey and it is winter outside right now; and besides, there are no palm trees to climb and the pine trees refuse to grow coconuts! I also liked the exotic outfits, especially the seed and bone necklaces and the palm frond decorations! Can anyone tell me what the word toa means?; there are two cities in Puerto Rico: Toa Alta ( Higher Toa ) and Toa Baja ( Lower Toa ), and since I am convinced that the Polynesians arrived at our island long before Christopher Columbus did, probably from Rapa Nui ( Easter Island ), and mixed with the indigenous native Amerindian Taino population, I want to try to figure out the connection!       "Toa" means warrior, a strong man (singular, two-digit, multiple), "luau" means (in Hawai'ian language) a big/good meal, a feast, usually together with some chants and dances, "hula".

He was the Puerto Rican ( Boriken ) based leader of the Taino Federation of the Greater Island chain in the Caribbean archipelago in the precolombian era, and he was beloved by all the islanders from the various islands for his kind and gentle ways.     This is great! I white with some Polynesian/Samoa blood in my veins. One day, I want to go somewhere and learn more about the culture I never got to experience on east coast USA.

      There's a Polyfest in Virginia Beach on the first weekend of August every year. Maybe not this year, but definitely next. Friday and Saturday events.
