Wow ! I discovered your channel through this song. The casual opening banter and the front stoop setting initially had my hand about to click away. It only took a few bass and lead guitar notes to snap me to full attention, and when the vocals came in I was totally smitten. I love this song by Jewel, and your cover does it soooo proud! Amazing. Jewel is one of my fav female performers of the last 2 decades, so I was extremely curious when I saw the title of this weeks ShoutOut cover. I have to admit that you guys did a perfect job again, amazingly perfect... ;)

3:16 Hi, I have a question for the guitar player! I’m currently rehearsing this song for my very first open mic night and I have literally watched this video dozens of times because I want to master your specific arrangement soooo badly! So right before the chorus, what is this percussive strumming stuff that you are doing with the A Minor chord? It kind of looks like you are strumming down and muting with your palm and then on the very next beat, are you slapping it? Am I warm? It’s so subtle, but it really makes it pop. Also, if you have any tips for it, anything helps! I LOVE this cover so much. ❤
Right on! that's just something I did in the moment, but I listened back to it. The D chord sets up the Am so pay close attention to that part. On the D chord I did a down strum on 2, then a quick up on the and of 3, and the slap on 4 of the D chord. then an up strum/hammer on the Am chord with the harder/accent strum for the Am on 2....that may be much more technical then you wanted but hopefully it helps, I'm sure if you experiment you'll work out something that fits perfectly for you, Hope you Open Mic goes great!!!

An excellent cover. I find Jewel's more recent performances of this song lack the emotion of the original because she tries to embellish it with little vocal frills. I like the stripped down performance that you do. More enjoyable than the real deal.
