The scale of the solar panels rendered me just speechless. They literally covered the whole roof of this super mega construction.
I haven't been to Xiong-an yet but I've been in the Shanghai south railway station for many times. You wouldn't understand how big a railway station could be in the major cities in China. They are literally as big as a small town. So imagine cover an entire town with solor panels.
Just think all those solar panels only provide a % to the stations power needs,with the power cuts at the moment in china they will have a huge problem going carbon nea

Carbon emission per capita of China is way less than Europe, let alone US.
The power cut recently was intentionally done by the government to elliminate heavy-pollution factories.
Why on earth would you think that Chinese government will be stupid enough to cut the electricity of a central railway station?
@Joe 47% of electricity uses coal to generate electricity, which was many years ago. Three years ago, we closed all the thermal power plants. The main reason for this power outage is to reduce the inventory of products and restrict the export of materials.
@@joe2395 china is responsible for 27% of the world's pollution, while at the same time, also responsible for over 90% of the manufacturing! And that alone puts all the developed countries to shame! You guys dont make anything but still emit a major percentage of the world's pollution!

What I like abt Xiong'An City is, besides the impressive above ground development, is its super structure underground ... eg dedicated tunnels for utilities ... no digging up the roads above 👍

當時說了雄安大計時，香港很多人都茫無頭緒，但大約五年以後即看到整個車站的完成，這有點不可思議，就像當中香港興建新機場和高鐵車站，不知不覺就完成了。
但是車站的外型和裡頭的風格有點樸實，沒有太多精美有如商場的高雅，但這認該是實用主義了吧。個人感覺空間的高度有點不足，而且感覺很多廊柱形成有點擠，在人數眾多時聲音會不會迴盪，做成音箱效應。
但不管怎樣，我能感受到現在中國就像七十年代的日本，經濟在廢墟中復甦，三十年後突然變成了現代化甚至未來生活都市，當然從歷史上看，日本在九十年代陷入停滯，現在的日本的一些基建都顯得老舊，甚至一些地區失了活力，希望中國的發展週期和高峰期能長久一點。
日本经济的放缓本来预计不会那么快发生，but，广场协议的发生，像一只手强行按住日本的经济发展。内地终有一日经济会变得乏力，但是是那种自然发生的，像人类会变老一样，所以还有一段时间。
日本的崛起是建立在分了美国一份蛋糕的基础上的，直到美国不愿意再让日本分蛋糕了。中国也是在分美国的蛋糕，但是美国没有能力阻止中国继续成长。

Great example of the scale and pace of getting things done in China. Love to see an objective comparison between these projects in China and HS2 in the UK.
In Chy-nuh CCP owns every square inch of land, can kick farmers off and pave over at will. Uk citizens have property rights.
@@jakleo337 The CCP owns the land but must compensate its users. They minimize the bill by reducing HSR footprint, building in viaduct above the more productive land. In the end, land acquisition costs were about 5% of HSR cost in China, just like in France or Spain where land is bought slightly above market prices and cheaper embankments are standard.
HS2 land acquisition costs went up because the Book of Reference now list properties totaling 70 square km. HS2 Phase 1 being only 192 km long with 51 km in tunnel, the UK is acquiring a 500 meter wide piece of land for every km of surface HSR! The bill should come to about 10% of HS2 total cost. The UK can be proud of her property rights but they don't explain much of HS2 high cost.

In contrast the USA spent $10 billion on a Ford class nuke aircraft carrier that can sail around world carrying 100 aircrafts and projecting US military power. I am hoping my country Malaysia to have high speed rail from KL to Singapore so that I can travel to Johor for work without driving but when government change, the whole project was scrapped. Its very tiring driving 3 to 4 hours. Now retired... so not hoping any more.

Looks amazing but i just learned that Chinese railway stations are more like airports than railway stations. That means long wights like airports. One of the aspects that make using trains more appealing is that you can be in and out of a rail station to and from your trips in no time!! But the station is amazing!!!

It will not become an unfinished building. Some government departments in Beijing will move to Xiongan. Even if there are no tourists, there will be government office buildings there.

@@user-lu8jg3bv6s i think i saw somewhere they want to build xiongan into special economic zone but in the North and connect Tianjin and Beijing. And ease Beijing companies and industrial zone so Beijing can more focus to become Capital and Administration centre.
That's a pretty impressive looking railway station. It's too bad that it's all underwater now. Maybe China should focus more on drainage.

Wow, a huge beautiful and tech-equipped train station. I think BeiJing is preparing for the 2022 winter Olympic game also.
I just spent 7 plus hours driving from downtown LA to San Francisco on the major California highway I-5 that is only two lanes in each direction filled with uneven pavement and the occasional pothole. The richest country in the world should have a world-class bullet train that whisks you from LA to SF in two hours in a state of 40 plus million with the fifth largest economy in the world.
Compare that with NYC Penn Station, how sad. But then they don't even have high speed trains so why would they
need new trainstations. Maybe with the new "infrastructure package" in 20 years and three times over budget.
