As one of the olds, I can confirm: the body changes never stop. I was diagnosed with a chronic disease last year, and the medications I need to be on to treat it caused some intense, drastic body changes for me. Keep your good attitude about change and celebrate all the things you can do with your body as it is!

The body changes just never stop but now that a I am 49 they are getting easier to deal with. Things just keep shifting around!

This is how I am going to describe myself to my kids from now on. One of the olds sounds oddly metal. I’m proud of my babies. They learned how to pronounce decrepit properly.

I have a very minimal neutral colored wardrobe that I too became bored with. I tried adding more patterns and colors but they just felt a bit off and sometimes even overwhelming. I then decided to try and add a little funk and style in my footwear and for me this was the winning ticket! It’s amazing how a fun pair of shoes can transform an otherwise basic outfit!

I love this idea! I'm honestly dying for a pair of colorful sneakers so I'm going to keep an eye out for a used pair :)

I’m 57 (I love your channel !) and I can tell you that the older you get, the easier it is to accept changes in your body. 30 is a bit of complicated age but I promise you that you are a beautiful person ❤

It really does! I had a partial hysterectomy in my 20s, gained weight, and got super insecure as someone who had been stick thin all her life. I lost the weight, and now that I’m 41 it’s back up again and this time around I’m like 🤷🏼‍♀️ time to dig out the stretchy waistbands!

Hear me out: add colourful accessories!
Scarves, hats, elaborate hair clips, sunglasses, jewelry, etc.
Way lower investment, lots of texture options, doesn’t clutter up a wardrobe the same way printed fabrics do.

Accessories in general. Whenever I compare my outfits with my aspirational outfits/looks by influencers, the biggest difference is me being underaccessorized and not paying enough attention to the other details like makeup, hair and nails. It's a lot of effort but a good outfit is not just the clothes.

I finally came to the conclusion that while my style can be an external marker of my personality. I also shouldn't give it that much power. If I dont feel like my style represents me a 100% thats okay they are still pretty good clothes that serve their function.

Yes the feels, especially the lacklustre events and body changes - I had a baby this year, people bang on about weight (never bothered me) but what people don’t mention is your actual skeletal structure and dimensions change so much such as hip width, rib cage expansion etc. so I’m finding I’m now just accepting this new structure and slowly moving out the items that no longer serve me, and it’s been liberating!
Hugs to the mammas out there that are stuck in a style jam as well!

I watch all of those creators as well, including you obv, and even tho my style isnt even close to any of you 4, i still get inspired and pick up on little things here and there that I incorporate into my own style. I think its important to remember that we are all different. And I'm sure those creators would look at your videos and outfits and maybe have some of the same insecurities that youre having. Social media is such a highlight reel, that even those who appear to have it all together, wear perfect outfits every day, and have a seemingly perfectly wardrobe from the outside, they might not think they do at all. Try not to compare yourself to what you see online. You are inspiring in ur own way, and we like u for who YOU are

Things that have helped me are:
    1) Finding out my colour season. I found that wearing colours that were in my palette helped give me energy and that those from opposite palettes were quite draining,
    2) Trying a capsule wardrobe for a month helped me put together different combinations of outfits and helped my identify my favourite outfits,
    3) Shopping secondhand is great (more than half of my wardrobe is secondhand) but it can be very hit and miss, especially when buying online. Some pieces that are secondhand have become “placeholder” items for me as I’ve realised they haven’t quite hit the mark but have identified whether the “gaps” really are gaps. I’ve sometimes gone on to purchase another item that ticks all the boxes and then sold or donated the placeholder item
    4) Go “shopping” in department stores, but don’t buy anything. Use it to take changing room selfies and find out what cuts and colours look good on you and feel right. Take photos and sit and wait for them to come up secondhand or search out for similar items when thrifting,
    5) Use Pinterest with very specific search criteria. For me that is colour combinations and styling ideas such as scarf styling or belt styling. Screenshot your favourite photos then delete Pinterest off your phone for a while. Try these ideas out for yourself and go analog, look at people on the street, art museums for colour combos, old magazines etc. Find out what YOU like, not what the algorithm serves you. For me I’ve found a lot of inspo in vintage photos and dressing.
    6) View your wardrobe as a curated collection. Do you have a colour scheme and certain silhouettes that you are drawn to? Imagine you are a designer putting together this season’s collection.
By giving yourself different challenges like this it can help you really find out what your own style is. All the best! 😊

That blue sweater looks great on you. It’s making your eyes pop. I’ve been having to come to terms with the fact I really only have 1 day a week to wear my clothes due to my work schedule and set uniforms and I keep being like “wow this shirt is beautiful I could… wait… when would I even wear it?!” I have a vacation coming up at the end of 2025 and I’ve planned and replanned the clothes I’m packing in my head probably 100 times because I’m so excited I can wear my clothes for a week straight. 😅
My weight fluctuates and I get rounder and sharper depending on … I don’t know, the wind I guess. I have a butt that needs its own zip code. It is something you get used to. Pro tip - a lot of corduroy slacks have elastic in their waist.

I have a very hard time in resale shops finding quality pieces that fit. I am retired but can relate to everything you said. I look for sustainable items on sale or with discounts. I resist polyester and look for cotton, wool, linen ( love silk but have not purchased anything silk in a long time) . I will choose tencel/lyocell if I really love the item. Great video.

Great video! My "problem" is that my style persona seems to go from one end to another way too much. It's making me so confused. It's crazy because I'm 32 so I feel like I should have my style figured out already 😄

Hi, I'm not your regular follower, this video just popped in my feed and I decided to watch. I don't know if you're into Kibbe, style essences, color theory and things like that, but i HIGHLY suggest to look into those things, instead of just blindly following OTHERS style. It really helps to understand yourself better and see YOUR OWN beauty and uniqueness. Also, ask yourself, what are your values, who you are as a person, what do you like, what parts of your personality you want to express, etc... I think, this more introspective kind of approach is much more inspiring and it helps to stop comparing yourself to others that much.

Honestly, it sounds like you might be feeling some burnout from being too involved in the youtube space. When you talked about what you want to feel from your wardrobe, what I was hearing was a desire to feel creative and inspired. You might be able to really tap into that inspiration through crafts. I know for me, my favorite cardigan is a simple beige cardigan I crocheted for myself because I look at that cardigan and know how much hard work went into learning the techniques and making the alterations. I see all the mistakes I made, but that cardigan makes me feel so much more special than anything else in my wardrobe. If you want to start with adding color, it might make it feel more special if you make your own jewelry and accessories. I might be totally off on why you're feeling that lack of color so much, but it might be worth a try!

Regarding second hand shopping: you can absolutely do that online! I would be so dissatistied with my clothes if I had to stick to local thrift stores. In Europe, Vinted is available in a few countries and in the US I think Depop is one of the biggest second hand clothing sites? But I really urge anyone to try it out who hasn't had success thrifting in person.

I find this video from Rita very helpful. She talks about 4 style stages, which everybody is going through in a spiral in their journey. It seems like you are at stage 1 (most unsatisfied), it's a prosess to get to stage 4, where you are happy again with your wardrobe. ruclips.net/video/JcSQfPIvX-s/видео.html

Well, interesting...I followed Christina for a long time and I stopped following her precisely because I see in her the complete opposite of you. She is supposedly a minimalist in her clothes, at least that's what she wants to be, she doesn't want to spend, etc. but she exudes insecurity and everything she buys and strives for are those things that are high on the wanted list of all influencers - from household appliances to clothes, through hiring a well-known private stylist. And yes, her style is a collection of everything that should be "in", but she bursts with self-doubt. Unlike her, to me you are someone who has much more attitude and style, but now I find out that unfortunately you don't notice that about yourself. Be yourself, you got more charisma.
