  • HOORAY! The club is coming out of post-Covid “Hibernation” and having meetings and operating sessions again. We start the year off at Jake Master’s home, his HO Scale 21.5 by 16.5 foot layout is awesome. Set in 1956 west of the Chicago area, Union Pacific rules the railroad roost. Awesome scenery and DCC make it so much fun to operate. A great start to 2023!

I always love to see these kind of projects; I havent done any realistic, adult creations but this takes me back to more simple times when I was a kid. I used to spend so much time on my Thomas the Train pieces. I would make all kinds of tracks and show em off to my family. And Christmas was special cuz I’d make a custom track around the christmas tree and gifts. Was a fun hobby! So to see this is especially impressive for me

This is one of the finest layouts I have seen! The thousands and thousands of hours in development not to minimize the 'great' financial costs. Thank you for making this video. Respectfully, why run the trains so fast? It's not a slot-car set. Why not slow it down, more prototypical to real railroads: go slower, enjoy the views, enjoy the tour, and make the track APPEAR to be longer. Hey, just my opinion.

I am modeling the U.P. in 1950s also. Besides the EMD F7, can you provide model-names of diesel freight locos used by U.P. in the era?

I don't know what it is but American rail roads as they call them look like children's toys compaired to England model railways.

Extremely poor camera work. Movements are much to fast for us to appreciate the work involved. Very amateurish. When recording, move the camera three times slower than you would normally and the videos will come out easy on the eyes.
