The dog not even being able to take all four of her paws out of the kennel is one of the saddest things I've seen. It's such a sign of anxiety about exploring its environment outside of the cage, and wanting to keep at least one foot in a spot where it knows its safe. Can't imagine what she went through before this.

When I was 5, my parents let me pick out a dog. All the other puppies at the shelter were jumping on me and scaring me, but this one timid 1 year old dog from a neglectful home just shyly walked over and sat on my lap. He was my pick, and we named him Tucker.
He was so neglected that my mom had to hand feed him and teach him how to walk up and down stairs. We had to teach him how to play. My parents later admitted they first thought he was too timid and wasn't sure about my choice, but he ended up being the best dog in the world once he came out of his shell. Intelligent, playful, well-behaved, extremely empathetic, good-natured to all animals. Whatever cats we adopted over the years fell in love with him. When fights would break out between the cats, or when our friend's dog would chase the cat, he would always break it up and stand his ground. He loved to play Frisbee and had a lot of personality, but he was also calm and very well behaved. Only ever chewed a shoe once, and if he was ever scolded for something, he'd never do it again.
He passed a couple years ago at 16 years old. I miss him every day.

This is why responsible shelters/rescues will do behavior screening of all pets that come to them and require ALL family members (human and animal although cats can be exempted) meet and interact with the potential adoptee before adoption. If there has been abuse or some kind of personality issue they will do pre-adoption training to make sure all in the family understand what the new family member needs in order to become comfortable. Nobody should adopt without already having some idea of potential challenges ahead.

Well you have the motivation and since you're able to access the internet you have the privilege and opportunity to access all the info you could need to become rich. All you have to do is put in the work.

This is also how I picture my retirement. Make a sustainable farm to rescue and provide home to as many dogs as I can.

Mavyn is a beautiful girl and you're the perfect parents for her. It took my abused rescue dog four months to leave the living room. I've had people tell me my girl is lucky I adopted her but I feel like I'm the lucky one.

Thanks for saving her❤ . The people who abuse animals deserve to be severely punished they don’t belong in society! Thanks again for rescuing her❤

Some of these videos really pull on your heart strings. My eyes are a little wet as it reminded me of our dog's adoption.
Those first days or week are important.

All they want is care and love!
I adopted 5 at once at one time. I took 13 puppies to the Humane Society with a donation. Animals are SO appreciative and good! I still have the youngest of the 5 I bought home. He is now 101/2.

I love it when people will go that extra mile to help a animal that’s been mistreated and then to get them a support friend.
I grew up with cats and dogs all my life, I do gravitate to cats simply because I don’t have the energy any more for a dog, as much as I would love to have both, dogs are such hight maintenance for someone who is not able-bodied enough for them I use to look after a friends dog for a long time until it got to the point I was just worn out after just 5 minutes of play with her.
The neighbours dog comes around every other day to visit me to make sure I’m okay and also to get his hugs and grooming in 😹😹 we now have a routing of doing one section of him at a time and as soon as I start feeling tired he hops up head buts me and then runs home😹😹😹
Having a sometimes dog is just enough for me😹😹😹for some reason the cats and dogs seem to like visiting my place all the time even though I have 5 cats who live in and around in the house or under the house.

What a beautiful fur baby Mayvn is - inside and out. A Pox on whoever had this poor girl before you, and hurt her so badly that she wanted to stay in a cage. Truly sickening! Thank You for giving her the time to start to heal and to know she finally found her Hoomans who will love her and give her the best life, AND a fur sibling to run, play and dog with.
