I could never forget the magic night I watched Black Christmas on tv in 1983: I was a child and was enchanted by its atmosphere. Love at first sight. No other movie could outbeat it. My parents couldn"t stand my talking about it any time at any place since it was unavailable and seemed nowhere to be found. A love relationship still standing nowadays ❤

this movie will forever be a Horror Classic! No Movie has scared me none other then what Black Christmas did with it's cinematography, and score, this movie will always have a special place in my heart! Bob Clark really made it his own and this is coming from the same Director who made A Christmas Story! I Find it so insane in a good way that you Never see Billy you really only see his shadow reflection or eye which is the most iconic and most chilling scene in the film! Props to Bob Clark this movie is honestly Underrated and deserves alot more love! The Character Billy is an underrated slasher villian he is so creepy, that i think not seeing him makes it more scarier in my opinion!

BC is absolutely THE OG progenitor of the North American slasher. Before this, we just had giallo and Psycho. What most people don’t realize is that Halloween was first born as a spiritual sequel of sorts to BC. John Carpenter asked Bob Clark if he was going to do a sequel to BC. He said no, but if I did. I’d have the killer escape from a mental institution on Halloween night and call it-you guessed it-Halloween. Debra Hill and Carpenter then ran with the idea and popularized the genre 4 years later. BC is one of those films that is really disturbing, not to mention obscene. Those spine chilling calls. You’d be hard pressed to name a horror film that can boast the same. We can isolate Oct 1974 as that precise moment in tIme that the slasher film was birthed. An absolute under appreciated horror classic.

Silent Night, Bloody Night was the first sasher film to have an escaped mental patient that terrorized the victims with phone calls and then killed them.....Black Christmas and Halloween copied this movie.

@@MK356BC It doesn’t fit all elements which would come to define the slasher genre. No final girl, for instance.

This reboot is so campy 😭 from the fake TV spots to Michelle Trachtenberg refusing to NOT die on camera! I know 2006 isn’t the best film, but definitely does justice for 1974

The granddaddy and progenitor of the North American slasher, BC is one of my absolute favorite horror films and probably my all time sentimental favorite.

They could have did a sequel more of the night he came home. What happened next lol. What's billy do? What happened to Olivia? That'd be cool if we saw direct sequel like they did with Halloween though I bet it'd be the situation with carpenter like what do you do now. The story was told in the first what else you going to do. Tell billy origins lol. Could have it be like fever dream film with flashbacks of origins which maybe that's constantly happening with billy that's why he had to do those calls. Not like he wanted to he had to same with the killings that's why he was saying at one point to help him stop him he's obviously crazy something wrong with him. Schorprenic like Michael maybe lol. Both him and Michael very similar lol which is more crazier lol????????????? Cool seeing

One of my favourite scary movies, slasher movies don't normally scare me but Black Christmas & Halloween really creep me out. I think it's because unlike a lot of slasher movies they're both so atmospheric & both have very creepy music & the houses in both Black Christmas & Halloween are incredibly eerie. Plus I have a fear of home invasion so for me the plot for both Black Christmas & Halloween is like something from my worst nightmares, & it terrified me that in Black Christmas you never find out who the killer is.

I recommend "Full Circle". It's also centered around a creepy, eerie, rambling house inhabited by something evil. Little gore, suspenseful, atmospheric, tragic. I love all three movies and watch them again around this time of the year to set the mood for the Halloween/Thanksgiving/Christmas holiday season. Another good movie is "Don't Look Now". Love suspenseful, creepy movies with minimum gore.

Tombo Vitale According to Olivia Hussey there were not one but several actors doing the killer’s character in during various of shootings.
