We're closing in on 50 years since this was released, and it's still being covered by so many guitarists. If that isn't the definition of a classic, I don't know what is.
Fantastic!! I learned so much from your interview about EVH with Rick Beato. Such a great story about Eddie coming to your house- and don't even get me started on the genius that was your father!
Eddie never played it the same way twice! The goal should not be able to play it exactly like Eddie, sounding like Eddie on the record, the goal should be to learn it and then use what you learn in your own playing.
It was because of you that I started learning to play guitar. You were a guest VJ on MTV maybe with your sister. You were noodling around with an unplugged electric playing the Walk This Way riff. I thought, that doesn't look so hard. Next week I was taking lesson and been playing ever since. Glad I didn't see this one first. Thank you.
Just want you to know that there were nights when your dad was the GREATEST live lead guitarist on the planet: I remember a tour to MN back in the 80's with purple amps that was absolutely spiritual in its power. All this to say I am really glad its YOU carrying the torch of his music, you have the heart & talent for it!

The intro made me not care AT ALL if he was only able to hit like three notes. The fact that Eddie gave him that guitar is all I needed to hear. AWESOME!
It seems he's intentionally changing certain parts, that I've seen him get right before. I saw footage of Dweezil at the NAMM Show I think it was from years ago, playing Eruption with note-for-note perfection. It's awesome to watch this solo done right by someone who actually knew Eddie Van Halen.
Hi Dweezil...great to see you keeping Eddies music and spirit alive here.
