RIP Colin Grigson, Bass player, Bank clerk…..I still quote Bad News /More bad news / the album one liners after all these years ….the quality of writing and comedy was absolutely genius. I really miss the 4 of them, and always held out for a reunion, until Rik untimely passed away…..a fist full of travellers cheques was also absolute genius….bless these men for providing such light and laughter in my life for so long….btw I’m 53 now …time flys.
🙂
Bad news are above Spinal tap for me !
I completely agree
True
without spinal tap there is no bad news
@@nicklevitt6395 Bad News predates Spinal Tap by 6 months
@@nicklevitt6395Wrong Nick. Bad News came out 6 months before Spinal Tap. Do your homework
Nigel Planer & Peter Richardson are national treasures.
Den Dennis and Spider Web I think you'll find........🙂
The Comic Strip team are legends. Mr Jolly Lives Next Door is up there with the Bad News episodes….
Mr Jolly was the best.
Never ever bloody anything EVER.
@@merlin5476 I've lived my life by that rule
Yes, yes and yes. Still can’t hear the words “tonic water” without smiling.
@@mdf1671 exploding tonic water !!! I see Henderson's got off to an early start.😂
You’re not wrong.
God! Imagine being so important, you can open an off-licence!
"Shacked up with punks, dyed my hair all sorts of exotic colours. ALMOST had a drugs overdose. I was like a crazy man!"
"So what do you do now?"
That line is one of the best ever!
& what have you been doing ??? Working in a bank. 😂😂
I could watch " Bad news" & more bad news 24/7.
I honestly think my favourite lines in any comedy show
Bloody ell Vim, it’s a Marshall!
Maybe Brian has the key?

I loved Bad News.... Wow we are all so much older now 😮❤😊
I was lucky enough to see Bad News at a secret gig at the Marquee, billed as 'The Mother F**ckers from Hell' - Introduced by Ben Elton with Brian May and Jeff Beck as surprise guests. And for the encores French and Saunders came on as the sexy backing singers.
And it got a write up in the Sun as 'Young One Neil glassed by stage lager lout' because Nigel got a small nick on the bridge of his nose and had massive comedy plaster stuck on his face.
The Encores were Mamma Were all crazy now and Twist and Shout.
Yes, they talk about that at 23:22. I was at one of those gigs, but I don't know if it was the first or second one. I don't actually remember that much about it, but I do remember Brian May coming on stage as a surprise guest (I have to admit I wouldn't have known who Jeff Beck was at that time). I also remember that at one stage the crowd were chanting "Colin is a wanker, Colin is a wanker" and Colin/Rik shouted "Scream, girls" and lots of the women screamed (including the girlfriend I was with) and then he said "At least I've got something to wank about".
Wow, that gig should've been filmed. lol

This was ace. Please put up the second interview with the fellas as well
Bad News was a massive part of my teenage years. I had t shirts, posters and all the albums but never saw them live, wish I had. Been listening a lot to the albums a lot recently and still know all of the words. Comedy gold.
How old are you Colin?
Bad news Bad news, for you and you and you you and you! 😂😂 fab memories
Oh wow! I wish Adrian had been there as well
Me, too!
I still quote from Bad News quite often. It's amazing how often an appropriate line comes up.
Whose that playing bass. WHO IS IT?
Well alright then
"it says sausages!!!!" 😉
@@skinheadjon901 🤣
STOP SHOUTING! It's beginning to get on my tits
Frightfully Groovy!!!!!!
Hang on. It says sausageS up there.
Where's me other sausage?
🤣
Can I have half a sausage for a quid
@@ricardoshillyshally343 no you can’t.
I'm not getting back in the van until Alan says we're heavy metal
I was at that Donington festival.forever pleased i was there !😂
I remember Donington,as fans we got the joke, from Tommy Vance in a crash helmet to “borrowing” Motörheads amps, and all coming together to chant “Fuck off bad news”. How is it so long ago now?!!!
Thank you .i couldn't get out from Dublin to see this . I was so looking forward to it . Thanks for giving me a chance to see it
Futuristic Metal!
I still have my Bad News CD and play Cashing in on Christmas every Xmas day morning (which is three days away, as I write this).
Even to this day I still can't decide if a cow is a domesticated animal or a wild animal.
Heavy metal cow gives me heavy metal milk.
@mayomonkey3810 Colin Gregson, oity toity faking oit!
An amazing time in British Comedy, so prolific and to think of all the other works mentioned that only existed at the time unlike today. BTW went to see Bad News playing at Hammeresmith and they had Brian May come on so it wasn't only the Marquee. Also meet them all at a signing promo at Virgin on Oxford Road and they were all really friendly.
" you didnt let the dog in for free did you !! " loved these guys in Bad News .
I got the first Bad News album on tape age 13 Christmas 1987....from my Nan! She had absolutely no idea bless er. Still got it.
I saw Bad News on the album tour. It was the funniest night of my life by some distance. What really struck me, though, was how good a drummer Peter Richardson actually was. The whole thing was, if not virtuosic, at least musically coherent, and some of the songs they never recorded were excellent...
Bad news were a great talented band, vym fluago 😄😄😅😅 rip Rick.
Richardson looks like David Attenborough!
loved this
Absolutely loved this,thank you 👌👌
Brilliant - thanks for posting
Thanks for the upload.
Thank you for the recording. Glad I got to see it
best Donnington ever 1986 had them all including bad news
Has anyone ever seen Peter Richardson and David Attenborough in the same room together?
That was pretty good that!
The first gig I went to was Bad News in Hanley in 1987. It was fantastic and fantastically funny.
They like Beefheart and Zappa too. Oh that cheers the heart.
"Come on, pretty baby
Wanna take my hand?
Come and fuck the singer in a rock 'n' roll band!!"
The Warriors Of Ghengis Khan!!! 😀
It's political.
'Blood wont wash away..' 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great Days 😁
I was at that Marquee gig….. I got a thank you from Ben Elton for holding the door open for him. 😄

If memory serves me right I can remember Vim Fuego smashing his guitar on the Donington stage and they hadn’t even played a song at that point🤘
I have a copy of the album signed by all except Colin Grigson as Rik was ill. Was Mike Lloyds Music in Hanley.
it was amazing to think bad news was produced by Sir Brian May !
And he also played with them live - along with Jeff Beck
@@SamLowryDZ-015 and Jimmy Page
Spider webb and den dennis lol my fave comic strips were both bad news and more bad news
"Working in a bank!"
Saw em castle donington 1986 and Reading 1987 where they were seconds from being bottled off
Daphne & Celeste, unironically (and a bit ironically) great band. I Love Sushi is still a banger.
Although sausagesS is a part of my lexicon I objected to paying to play at Donnington - had not seen it for years until it popped up on my feed and here we are - don’t think some of it has aged well but it’s up there with the Tap
"All comedians think the are rock stars, and all rock stars think they are comedians"
Would like to hear keith Allen speak about the comic strips.
Opened for Mötörhead, winning. 🤘
Day 17. Things aren't going quite as well as we hoped.

Hello Brian?
Not until vim says we're a heavy metal band
Where’s Adrian?
More importantly, why was Peter not in The Young Ones?
i think there was a lot more to Lemmy than meets the eye
I'm unplugging.
Hey Mr Bassman... Get the fucking nightbus home

It's ugly of me to say this, but it has always given me satisfaction to know that Nigel is famous and Peter isn't.
dont know why you say this but I think Peter is one of the most underrated comedy actors around ,i know he dosent do much acting but his little remarks are perfection and priceless, like his one in the comic strip robbery at the meet when he says 'have a goes on every corner ' will stick with me forever, funny man but my opinion 😊
goers*😊
