I like the scene when Michael Cooper made Magic Johnson and Norm Nixon apologize. It was really good when Kareem enforced what Michael Cooper said. Please make more videos about Winning Time!!!
Im sorry it was touching, but embellished. The shaked hands and promised to move on. Magic has 2 pass books out one about his personal raise second about being Magic in the Lakers Organization
I learned about Bird and his dad over 30 years ago! In his playing days I just used to think Bird was the greatest white player I ever seen, by the time his career was over I saw him as one of the top 3 greatest players I saw play. Once I saw that video Larry Legend and learned about his path to the NBA. It was full circle. In my eyes, Magic is my favorite, Jordan was the most relentless but Bird is the most respected.
They didn’t claim that Kareem first wore the goggles in the 80s. The first episode of the show (set in 79) has Magic looking at the Lakers locker room, including a close-up of Kareem’s goggles, in awe. Meaning they were already iconic by then in the show’s canon.
Imagine if a mob of Black fans chased the Bird led Celtics out of L.A. They would've called the police & all of the fans would've been arrested for harassment, assault, & for making terroristic threats. Also, David Thompson & Magic on the same team would've been awesome. David Thompson's numbers & career would been twice as good as it already was. Also, both Norm & Magic say they really liked each other & when Norm got traded it had nothing to do with Magic. Byron Scott wasn't accepted by Magic, the team, nor the fans after Norm got traded. He played his way into likeability
you know it's amazing how this show Tell's and hint's at not only what we think happened, but what actually happened., in other word's this art imitating life.
Philli had too much size for Boston in the 80 playoffs, so red got parish and McHale to be backups. Cowens then retired during training camp. I wonder what else this video got wrong.
It was the NCAA tournament Championship. There was a lot of fabrication and blow up a bunch of stuff. But it has been entertaining. And for those that look for foughts Need to just stick to documentaries and stats
Why the spin, I caught it. Game 1 race riot outside the garden did happen because I was there. Traffic was crazy because they were trying to get the Lakers out of there. So don’t spin that into the later Boston win and celebration. Please if you do more, no biase, fact changing to fit your view.✌🏾✌🏻
i don't want to drop names. Many of the people involved in the show i actually know or have met. Both front office and management and players. LAKER'S 🏆 CHAMP'S FOR THE AGES.
Not going to pay/sign up to watch them. I will say they shouldn't had made it look like Larry Chewed Tobacco, that's just bull crap lie. So I figure there's going to be a little to much of that in These Series.
true or not...they managed to Joffreyed Jason Segel's Westhead as one of the show's "villains". i hate him...and it's GREAT for good television show. look, I'd google and do other stuff to research and find out about the real stuff. I watch this show and most others to BE ENTERTAINED...and entertained I was indeed watching this show. can't wait for the next season already.
They got an oscar winner playing Riley, what else are they supposed to do? He looks alright in season 2 and they’ll show his style evolve over the course of the show’s run and eventually the Godfather will be there.
I watched a couple episodes of season 1, and their derogatory portrayal of the overall Greatest Laker of All Time, Jerry West, told me that this was BS. Never watched another episode.
I don't understand why Magic didn't like the "System"...And the "System" sure isn't the "System" Westhead ran in Denver, they were up and down in 7 seconds or less. So what's the difference?...The Lakers played defense I guess
I was too young to remember Westhead's run with the Lakers, but I definitely remember Loyola Marymount. I thought it started there, but I guess the philosophy must have germinated in his time with the Lakers. I can see why Buss fired him.
cos westhead won't recognize him and play him as THE star of the team. and i really don't like westhead, at least the show's version of him...which is good for the show.
That’s a lie! One thing has nothing to do with the other! Laker won the first game of the series with Boston. How do get from there to Bostons game 7 win? Stop fudging the truth, spinning it so fast thinking no one will catch it. Terrible!
By the trailer of season 2, they’ll cover at least 5 NBA seasons in season 2, my guess they will stop with the Showtime Lakers final championship in 1988, Kareem’s retirement and Magic’s HIV story in season 3, then season 4 will be about the Shaq and Kobe era.
Actually, racism was going away in the 1980s. They were just passionate fans. They loved guys like Bill Russell and Robert Parish and hated guys like Kurt Rambis and Mark Landsberger. Racism is making a comeback in the 2020s thanks to people like you trying to find it where it doesn't exist.
I have no desire to watch these types of movies/shows that are "based" on real events but just make shat up for effect. I hate them and I wish they didn't exist.
@@ecobean3440 Because I'm a basketball fan, an 80's Laker/Celtic fan, and I haven't seen Winning Time 1 or 2. Now that I've watched this video, I know I don't want to watch the show.

Why does show Larry bird look more like Larry bird than Larry bird?
Lol, why did he call Jason Segal by his real name instead of his character's name 😆 found that shit hilarious for some reason.
Love this show. Hope they make a spin off from Celtics POV - birds bball skill and trash talk deserves a season 😊
I usually end up googling the events in each episode on my own to see what was real and what was made up, so this was great!
I know West says he didn’t really act like that but I sincerely hope he did 😂😂😂😂 that mf lose his shit so quick 💀
😂😂😂 his scenes on the show are the funniest
0 to 100... real quick 😂
It was hilarious at the end when Pat Riley challenged the locker room and started Rambis at the 4. West immediately said, “The hippie?!” 🤣
I’m a jerry west myself fuckin mad wanting control but not wanting it because of stress and being a hot head
Keep doing this 🔥
I looked but didn’t see a Season 1 review. I hope you do one. This was great!
Not the NCAA State championship it wasnt high school. It was the NCAA National championship. Cant believe that needs explaining
That was my comment too 🤣🤦🏾♂️ like dude WTF? Lost a little credibility honestly lol
Saw this at 1:40 and laughed immediately!!!!!
Love the series

What you’re describing literally happened to Boston in Philly lol. You should look into things before speaking
I don’t have to imagine it because in 2020 the riots went unpunished
Welll done! Thanks
The biggest state championship game ever!!
Imagine having 4 players wide open, but then decide to be a ball hog and airball instead.
you know it's amazing how this show Tell's and hint's at not only what we think happened, but what actually happened., in other word's this art imitating life.
Coop and norm got a RAISE
You did not even mention Bird.
The NCAA “STATE” championship
Like the KC Chiefs won “best in the COUNTY” last season???
@2:45…thats my uncle😁😂😁😂
Name?
michael jordan will appear
Yo system called “The System?” That ain’t sexy! 🤣🤣🤣
Philli had too much size for Boston in the 80 playoffs, so red got parish and McHale to be backups. Cowens then retired during training camp. I wonder what else this video got wrong.
Well, for one, Magic and Bird weren't playing for the state championship in 1979.

“Passionate” lol
The acting in the show was amazing
The NCAA State Championship? What kinda robot is doing this? Lol Jason Segal is an actor they read him off in between Jerry West at Pat Reilly 😆😆

Nobody cares what is real or not, this is the best nba series of all time!
Did u see the latest episode ??
Are they lying us?? LYING TO US* sorry please fix this typo on the thumbnail preview. My mind can't take seeing it 😂
Kareem was actually series MVP they gave it to magic cause of his game but mostly cause he was there
French Lick Indiana doesn't look like rural California.
Love the show, but HBO/MAX has done a poor job advertizing it.
The show is a 10/10. Five stars
The series has flawless material but HBO must continue telling Lakers legacy
Netflix or HBO (good in bio back then )❤
Anybody catch that Celtic fan in the “pizza planet” t-shirt.

NCAA ‘state’ championship?
Did you say “NCAA State Championship”?
True or not it's still a good show hate to see it go
The Center’s name is pronouncedBurr-Les-Son” not “Bee-YourL-Son”. Do some research!
Got weirded out when they had Dr J dunking on magic? Mf I said “did that happen?” 💀

is Showtime going to follow the Lake'rs showtime era, 1980-1990, in real time, as the actors age? So it's going to go on for 9 TV seasons?
By the trailer of season 2, they’ll cover at least 5 NBA seasons in season 2, my guess they will stop with the Showtime Lakers final championship in 1988, Kareem’s retirement and Magic’s HIV story in season 3, then season 4 will be about the Shaq and Kobe era.
The producer is already saying if the ratings don't start going up, the series will be canceled. So season 3 is in limbo as of now
