@@gbrown3783 it was a bit icy on the slopes so i got bruises on my butt and knees.. but this video really helped me esp how to put the board down cause at first I placed it face up and the board went downhill luckily no one got hit..
I've just booked a snowboarding course for Jan 2021. It'll be my first time snowboarding ever. I don't have snow where I live. I'm really excited! Thanks for sharing these tips, I've been watching all your beginner videos.
I went today for my first time I'm inlove with it it's not easy you just cant give up but so much fun I didint get off of the bunnny hill but with in 5hrs of time of time at the hill I was getting her going real well at the end !! Cant wait for the next ride
Thanks Kev, I'm planning to go snowboarding for the first time soon, and these videos are quite informative... I will definitely be studying the material. Thanks again.
I'm at a winter resort in Vermont doing a winter chef got & have just purchased my snow gear for boarding. These videos are a big help, thanks so much. I'm gonna get on the mountain for my first time tomorrow morning. Wish me luck.
Greetings from Heavenly ski resort Lake Tahoe. Your vids really helped me become an advanced rider. I remember when I first snowboarded I was absolutely terrible but now I can do 360 jumps and some butters. Thank you man. Appreciate it so much!
Kevin, glad to see more frequent content! Could you do a video on proper stance and how to prevent/reduce leg fatigue? Thanks for the great vids! - Robb
Robb Rotramel good idea, I consider myself a good rider but this latest trip killed my back leg , had a freestyle lesson and she said I was leaning back and I hadn't a clue
Hi I'm 16 year old Lucas from Quebec and thanks for the tips, it really helped me today while snowboarding. Me and fifty ish students from my school are actually coming to Whistler in February 2017. Its going to be a blast! Hope we meet you in person and thank you for the lessons and the many tips you gave for snowboarding. I have my own board and its really heavy and stiff but as I heard, its better for a beginner because it helps for balance. I also do sking as an instructor on mont habitant. Sorry if im being oversharing but I just wanted you to know how much you helped in snowboarding with your videoes. Thanks again and hope you have an awsome riding season at Whistler.
More snowboarders need to watch this. I saw three runaway boards today at Breckenridge. Great tips! I'm not even a beginner and I still watch this haha
I actually got up and down a run on my first day ever riding because of watching you! I’d love to send the video to see what you think I can do different to better my ride
First off, Cheers for keeping it up!I personally learned everything I know from your lessons. And I would love to learn more about intermediate stuff from your perspective.
Omg, so that's how you walk with one-foot strap on the snowboard!!! I'm a beginner and I'm still learning how to walk with one-foot strap on. I looked like an idiot. I couldn't walk!! I'm going to try this move when I go snowboarding again in a few days. Subscribed to you :D
I'm doing a lesson tommorow can't wait. I snowboarded on mount Raoupaeo (don't know how to spell it) in New Zealand. First ever lesson. In 2 hours I managed to get to the point where I could do "leafing" as well as a few turns on both the toe and heel edge. My instructor said my progression was amazing. What do you guys think?
I'd love some videos on more advanced dynamic turning. I can do it, but would love some tips on improving. Also a video on tips for snowboarding in deep powder (like near 2 feet worth of powder).
I snowboarded for the first time yesterday (never skateboarded, never ski'd, never surfed, bad at rollerskating, never ice skated) and I should have watched these videos. I could stay on the board if it was going straight but I didn't know how to slow down at all and since I would accelerate so quickly facing straight down hill I would fall on purpose to keep myself from going too fast and falling even harder or worse going off a cliff. I spent like 2 hours to get halfway down the beginner area and I literally just walked the rest of the way down lol. I figured if I kept going I was going to seriously hurt myself. My knees, shoulders, butt, back, and ankles are all sore. I absolutely should have watched all of these videos first AND went out and tried practicing on somewhere relatively flat because the place I went to there were either little kids around and was really crowded or it seemed too steep for me to practice anything safely, especially with other people trying to ski and snowboard at the same time. I really didn't think it would be that difficult. I thought there would be a lot more traction so I wasn't expecting to move around like it was ice or something lol. So thanks for making these videos. They'll help me a lot if I ever go snowboarding again.
I’m intermediate level but I haven’t snowboard since 2005. I only went snowboarding w/ my family in Lake Tahoe but it’s hella expensive. For me, skateboarding is more economical feasible since I live in the SF Bay Area & I barely go out to the Sierra Mountains anyway.
i just want to say thanks like a million other people. But more than just because of the tips, more than just because of the videos i share with my beginner friends, but mostly for inspiring and supporting other newer creators like David Jones and Matt Maniaci! I love the way you have shown them support and in turn they show little guys like me support and we all grow together! its really incredible. anyways, thanks kev. thanks tj. thanks all of you! I hope one day one of my videos comes across your screen, id love to know what you think!
Im going snowboarding for the first time next weekend but I'm in Japan so I won't be able to get any help since I can't speak japanese. hopefully i can learn enough from youtube beforehand
i love youre a goofy rider it helps me look at your riding and learn posture better and also the tricks and tips feel more made for me since im a goofy rider too
Not a beginner but the upside down board is such a simple tip that I didn't even think of, I'd just not let go u til one foot was strapped in, or just be on flat.
So last sunday I was snowboarding. First time ever. Had been skiing for about five times but always wanted to learn snowboarding. Watched couple of RUclips videos and on I went. I think I did pretty good. However watching this now I was like wait, the lower strap goes on your toes and not across the top of you foot? Righty then, next time I'll know 😂
New boarder. Having trouble tightening up my bindings, or specifically, getting close enough to them to easily tighten them. Not sure if it's a flexibility issue or a positioning of the board issue. Would love to see a video on the topic. Thanks
First time I went snowboarding was New Year’s Eve eve of 2017 lol it was in Big Bear California, first try was amazing, my second try not so much.. I fell on my ass and ended having bruises on my ass as well lmao it was fun though !
I went snowboarding for the first time yesterday I have a bruise on my ass and I’ve learned many of personal lessons. As a skateboarder I advice everyone who think it’s transferable that the lessons are completely opposite no matter what lean forward will make you eat shit. no matter what lean back
hey man I love the content. really been liking the stuff that you've been putting. I'm actually looking into getting in to snowboarding back after probably 4 or 5 years so seeing this stuff really motivates me. by the way do you know any good stores to buy gear from anything? you recommend?
What’s up Kevin! Waiting for the snow here in Italy, can't wait to strap on again I just have a question.. when you put on your bindings, do you leave your pants in or out of them? Keep up the awesome work, been really digging your videos lately! (Sorry for any mistakes, as english isn't my first language)
My best friend is a skier, she has been a skier for 2 years and I'm a snowboarder I've been doing it for 5. When we go to resorts together she always says I look like a fish when I roll over.
Just got back from the slopes for the first time and I think I will be sleeping on my stomach for the remainder of the trip. My ass enjoys the snow for some reason.
Once when I was out riding slow with my beginner friend, I got hit with a sliding snowboard. It takes you out man. Putting your snowboard upside down is very important

I just paid for and had my first lesson and none of this was gone over so I love your videos!
we didn’t get thought how to get up. so after my lesson i had free time and was struggling!
I love that sound of snow under a board

James Hymel yes lol...XD
Yep
Popcornpuff meeeeee

the sound of the boots squeaking in the bindings is heroin to me
Sydney Hawthorn what is drugd
It’s all about the board moving in fresh powder
I also like when he compounds the snow, I’m addicted.

I personally can’t stand it, but when the snow is perfect and he flies past that is the best
I'm going snowboarding tonight! So excited hope I'll get 360😇👍
Minitrokid good luck!
I accidentally did a 180 and kept riding. Maybe you will do 360 on accident. Who knows? Good luck

These videos on the basics are easier to relate to than videos of big jumps so the feeling of being at the snow takes over
It snows a lot where I’m from and I’ve always wanted to learn how to snow board lol

Keep the pants outside of the boot but inside of the binding!
