Manny, I love you. I have a very Mormon family as well. My 12 yo daughter came out about a year ago. She was always uncomfortable at church. I have never agreed with the church's gay policy. When my daughter told me she was gay I made the decision to stop going to church because my #1 job as a mom is to keep my kids safe. She wasn't safe at church. When she told my ultra Mormon family I had to cut off contact from most of them (I have 6 siblings and 100+ cousins) because they were so hateful. I admire you so much. 💋

If you actually listen to the story, he says that his parents needed to understand him more than anything else, It's not as if there was concelling for the parents 10 years ago. It is still considered an illness in some parts of the World, I'm not saying it is ok to be homophobic, just that information and acceptance takes time to Come through. My best friend is still not confortable to say he is gay, and I live in Belgium
I dont think his parents were homophobic, they just didn't understand or know how deal with the situation which is understandable. They didnt force him to go and encouraged him to quit therapy when it affected his mental health.

That's okay though, you can have friendships that are super rooted in the here-and-now and are still really strong and significant! Some people don't talk about their past much, or maybe they value each other for being able to clear their heads and get away from serious stuff. There's a lot of reasons that "surface level" can still be important :)
They already knew about each other’s families. Didn’t you hear when they were talking they were saying things like “Wasn’t it four kids?” Like they already knew and were confirming for the audience.
It’s true what Laura said about Manny being sweet to everyone that comes up to him. A couple years ago, I was at LAX with my mom. I saw Manny outside and I literally left the check-in line and ran out there to hug him. Even though I probably looked crazy running towards him, he was so sweet and hugged me back. We shook hands and introduced ourselves, and took a selfie as well. My experience meeting Manny for the very first time made me love him even more. He truly is genuine on and off cameras.
Stephanie Martinez he really is! i saw him & Patrick Star about a year ago in Corpus Christi Texas for the Selena Mac Launch and after the event we were waiting to take pictures with them (we were the last ones) and Patrick was being unnecessarily rude. There were no more than 10 people in line (we were the 10th) and Patrick kept screaming no more pictures and rolled his eyes at us as he walked by and Manny was a total sweetheart and stopped by us , apologized and took selfies with us and chatted for a bit. He's so genuine and sweet.

I actually really enjoyed this video! Just hearing everyone tell stories and sharing experiences really warmed my heart. I have to agree with Laura and Nikita when talking about how hard being friends with other females is. I personally find it hard to be friends with other women because of how judgmental and stereotypical this world has become. Females are usually quicker to judge one another versus men, so for me I’ve always found it easier to connect with my guy friends 😔 But if any lovely individuals would like to be friends, I’m all for it 😘💟🤗
