I'm about to start my sophomore year of college, and I'll be living on campus. I just thought you might enjoy the Brita water bottles if the pitcher doesn't fit in your fridge. I got one from Target and I love it! The filter is in the straw, so it filters while you're trying to drink it. It's perfect for college and everything else.
Hey!!! A couple tips (I am a junior and living in the residence halls for a third time this year). Your mattress topper: take it out of the box the night before your move in day. They need time to expand although it will be a little more challenging to pack it will save you that awkward sleeping on the dorm mattress even though you have a topper but can't use it because it hasn't fully expanded. Also they tend to smell really bad and airing it out will help with that. The second thing, I've tried all the sheet brands under the sun, jersey sheets from target are the only ones for me that actually stay on my bed and don't pop off the corners. Bring extra pillows and a body pillow you can always use them either for friends stopping by to hang out or people who sleep over. Bring disposable cups, plates, bowls and silverware. You will be telling yourself you are gonna do your dishes, but there will be times where 100 other things sound better than doing them, so just get the stuff you can toss and don't waste your money on reusable stuff. I had the same exact shower caddy too =] a tip with that is to rinse it once a month cause they get gross and for your room get one of those memory foam dish mats (they are usually packaged folded in half and in awesome colors) keep it folded it half and you can put your wet shower caddy on it when you get out of the shower and won't have to worry about water all over the floor. The last one I can think of right now is to stock up on all the different types of command strip products. I used the velcro and the medium clear hooks the most but I'm positive I used almost all of the collection at least once. Good luck!!!
Shayna Ferguson Oh my goodness, these were all SUCH helpful tips. Thank you so so so so so so much for taking the time to type all this out. I appreciate it more than you can imagine! Thanks you also for the well wishes! Good luck with your junior year :)
I would recommend getting a shelf or pouch for your bed to act like a bedside table if you have a loft. They come in very handy for phones, earbuds, food or just whatever.
if you want to hang the multi-picture frames on your wall I recommend using command strips! I'm going to be a freshman in college this year too and that's what my school told me to do ☺️
I suggest for future buyers of the bed rest pillow, to buy one that isn't super fuzzy and also buy a cover for it. You're going to want to clean the cover as much as possible.
Loved watching this! I'm actually from England but I'm also starting university/college this year so I'm buying all my stuff at the moment and love these types of hauls!
JEBeauty thank you! I've pretty much decided to bring both of my pillows (plus a few throw pillows) now! I can't give up that kind of comfort hahaha. :)
omg, you're the cutest :-) I'm going to be a college freshman this year, too, but I'll be going to the University of SoCal! (the same one as Katherout lol, so when you mentioned her I kind of freaked out)
You should get a mattress pad to put on top of the topper! They have it at bed bath and beyond for about $25 and it's so soft and it'll make your bed even softer! I'm going to be dorming this year too
ahh this is crazy, this is the first video of yours I've ever watched because I was watching dorm hauls, and I live in Dayton!! that's crazy! you'll love it at UD 😊
That lip color is so pretty! It really compliments your skin tone (or did, I know this video is almost a year old so you might have a tan now or something). Also love your hair, it's really pretty.
I just finished college and one thing that I highly recommend to get if you don't have one available is a mini fridge and microwave :) Good luck and they are truly the best 4 years of your life!
SweetMisMichelle the mini fridge and the microwave come with our room (or trust me they would have been in this haul!) Thank you so much for your sweet words! :)
I am literally so happy I found this video, you are so awesome! I was a freshman in college last year and I remember how crazy excited I was to go shopping for all of my bedding and dorm room items. It was so much fun putting my new room together. I hope you have an amazing first year (:
I know I'm going to sound a bit stupid, but I'm from the UK and love your 'comforter'. Is it like a quilt/duvet that you change the covers on,or does it just lay over your bed and doesn't need to be washed, kind of like a throw?x
Alice Dent you don't sound stupid at all! A comforter is a mix between the two. It keeps you warm and is the statement of your bed like a duvet, but it doesn't have a cover that gets changed. The pattern on my comforter will always be the pattern on my comforter. Also, I would occasionally throw my comforter in the wash to make sure it's clean. I hope that cleared it up a little bit!
Nikki DeGroot I have a few older friends, and I know my roommate and a few people she knows, and I have a few people I met on the Facebook page, but other than that, no! I'm not to worried about it though. I'm pretty good at making friends
Im not speaking from much knowledge but i think most colleges have like plastic covered mattresses. So you may want to look into that before you buy a bed bug cover, as it wouldn't really be necessary. I know my college does at least!
Delaney McNulty I know for a fact that my dorm has an actual mattress and not a plastic covered one, so the bed bug cover will be 100% necessary for me!
megan Thank you so much! You can definitely expect many more college videos from me. And I think I want to go to grad school to study law! We will see where the next four years lead me :)
I'm really loving your college dorm hauls and move in videos. They are way more helpful than a lot of the other ones I find! Are there any items that you or people you know brought to college that you would recommend not bringing?
Okay so in actual Dayton there are no major stores lol. Malls are in Centerville (Dayton Mall) & Beavercreek (Fairfield & The Greene), 15-25 minutes from UD. Dayton mall is ratchet but, it has a Forever 21 & H&M which Fairfield doesn't. The Greene (my fav) is like a outdoor mall (if that makes since) it's amazing! Has every store you'll ever need & Great food places. There's a Walmart like 5 minutes away from UD in Oakwood. Target, there may be one in Oakwood. Dayton does not have a a Target. There is a Target by both Fairfield & Dayton Mall. The best thing about UD & the location! Brown street is the best thing ever!! So many food options😂 What else.... Idk, if you have any questions I've lived in Dayton my whole life & I go to school on UDs campus. (Senior at DECA... Dayton early college academy) it's a high school lol . My Twitter is @lexigrande__ if you have any questions I'll be happy to answer them so you're super prepared lol Btw I LOVE your personality . New subscriber 💖
alexis Brie Alexis!!!! This is by far the most helpful list of things anyone has ever told me about Dayton. Thank you SO MUCH for taking the time out of your day to tell me all this. I know all about the schools on the Dayton campus because up until the last few weeks of my senior year, I thought I wanted to be a teacher. Again, thank you a million times this is so helpful. Thank you for the subscribe too! PS: I just followed you on Twitter xoxo.
Hang those frames with the 3M command strip velcro strips! They hold the weight of heavy frames and are super easy to take down and change photos when you want to change them! They are one of my holy grails in my dorm room! I hung everything that I could in my dorm room last year with those!
CityEquine went out and bought these the night you commented! Thank you for the tip!!! I'm so excited to be able to hang those really heavy picture frames :)
Girl you will definitely need a bed bug cover! I live in ohio too and while I'm not going to college till next fall I had bedbugs before and it sucked sooooo bad trust and believe I will have one the second I get there. Better safe than sorry
I completely echo your dismay at the pricing of sheets! I splurged on a nice quality sheet set at Macy's because I got a gift card (seriously who gets someone a Macy's gift card as a grad gift?) and the Twin sheets were $70, but the Twin XL sheets were $120! How is 1 ft of fabric worth almost 2x the normal?! Also, and extra pillow case was 70 freaking bucks! Ugh! Anyway, you seem really cool, and I liked this video. I wish you all the best next year and beyond!
Amy Cutlip wow, that is some crazy pricing! But really, I have enough knowledge of sewing to make my own pillow case if need be, so I don't need to be spending $40 on two of them, or even an extra $20! I'm glad I didn't seem frugal hahaha. Anyway, thank you for your kind words xx
Just be careful with that storage ottoman! At my school we aren't allowed them because they are considered a fire hazard (all stuffed furniture is at my school?). Seriously want that lamp! someone else talked about it but I was like nah, now I want it so bad ugh! Honestly obsessed with your comforter too!!!
LadySportStacker Oh, I will definitely check to make sure I can have one! Thanks for the heads up :) It's such a great little lamp. I've set it up at home to try it out and I give it a 10/10
you're so cute!! Thank you so much for your help with my college preparation. Im already freaking out about towels and power strips XD I love your peppy attitude and excitement, so thank you!! I will definitely be getting the shower caddy from bed bath and beyond rather than target (double the cost there!) Im going to American University in the fall and my roommate is still kinda distant but i want to be as prepared as possible before we decide colors. Anyway... thank you! If you have any tips after your first year of college, I would definitely appreciate them! -Meghan (ignore the account, its from like 7th grade lol)
Congrats on American! I know a few people that go there and the love it! So glad these videos helped you out. My biggest tip for going into college is to make the experience your own! Do what you want and don't feel like there's anything you have to do. Any college experience is a real college experience! :)

I'M WATCHING THIS AND I APPRECIATE THE SHOUTOUT! keep doin whatchu do i subscribed
Katherout • AHH thank you so much! I appreciate it
You can hang your picture frames using Velcro Command strips! That's what my roommate and I did for our mirror and all of our canvases! :)
I love your bedspread that is on your bed right now!!! where is it from????
Use command strips hook thingies. They have specific ones for picture frames.
You have an amazing personality that really shows through your videos! Im surprised that you don't have more subscribers!
I would definitely bring more than one pillow, always would recommend getting body pillow.
You should probably get one of those over the door full length mirrors!
Ariana Rassooly that is on my list! Thank you
I would recommend getting a shelf or pouch for your bed to act like a bedside table if you have a loft. They come in very handy for phones, earbuds, food or just whatever.

To hang the pictures u should use command strips and hooks. They dont mess up your walls.

I'm only a sophomore (almost a junior) in high school but I've been watching college hauls since Christmas.
+Bella Arriaga that sums up my life
+Bella Arriaga I did the same think for a long time! You have no idea how much joy it brought me to film my own :)

Loved watching this! I'm actually from England but I'm also starting university/college this year so I'm buying all my stuff at the moment and love these types of hauls!
Katie A. glad you liked it/found it helpful! I watched them obsessively before I went shopping :)
How did you make that canvas?! It's absolutely flawless. I'd love to make one for my school!!!
My high school spanish teacher (and close family / church friend) gave me the same cross for graduation!! Love it as well(:
Love your haul! I'm going to be a sophomore in college this fall, definitely recommend bringing 2 pillows! You won't regret it!
(the same one as Katherout lol, so when you mentioned her I kind of freaked out)
I was going into my freshman year last summer and my mom and aunt hoarded Bed Bath & Beyond coupons like nobody's business. They are fantastic.
I have that comforter on my bed at home lol I looooove it
You should get a mattress pad to put on top of the topper! They have it at bed bath and beyond for about $25 and it's so soft and it'll make your bed even softer! I'm going to be dorming this year too
Malilifire funny that you should say that, because I just bought one of those today!
I'm going to be a high school freshman and you are the most relatable RUclips's I've seen
You have such a great energetic spunky personality, definitely subscribing :)

Nikki DeGroot I have a few older friends, and I know my roommate and a few people she knows, and I have a few people I met on the Facebook page, but other than that, no! I'm not to worried about it though. I'm pretty good at making friends
You're a freshman going into college? Me too. lol I haven't even went dorm shopping yet.
Miley Carterr yes I am! Don't worry if you haven't. I'm ahead of the game because I have to be at school a week earlier than everyone else.
I live in Dayton! No one talks about UD in videos! I thought it was really cool you are going there!
Kathryn W I'm head over heels in love with UD! Go Flyers!

There's a Walmart like 5 minutes away from UD in Oakwood.
Target, there may be one in Oakwood. Dayton does not have a a Target. There is a Target by both Fairfield & Dayton Mall.
The best thing about UD & the location! Brown street is the best thing ever!! So many food options😂
What else.... Idk, if you have any questions I've lived in Dayton my whole life & I go to school on UDs campus. (Senior at DECA... Dayton early college academy) it's a high school lol . My Twitter is @lexigrande__ if you have any questions I'll be happy to answer them so you're super prepared lol

You can use command strips to hang the frames up 😬
I know this video is a year old but where is the bedding from thats on your bed in the video?! Super cute!!
JCPenney! It was part of a Teen Vogue line and you can probably still find it on Amazon. The last time I checked it was available there. :)
lol I would be excited about that lamp too soooooooo helpful
Even at home I use the USB to charge my phone. Best investment ever.
I loved UD when I toured this year but it's so expensive. Going to be a freshman at Ferris State!
Laursey H I was extremely lucky to receive a large scholarship for Dayton. Good luck at Ferris State! I'm sure you will have a fantastic year! :)
I completely echo your dismay at the pricing of sheets! Good luck at UD! I will be attending UC!! OHIO REPRESENT!!!
Tony Dinh Good luck at UC! Yay for Ohio colleges!
I'll be attending UC as well!
I will be attending uc also! #bearcat
that comforter looks like a vera bradley
I bought the same UO bedding! It is so pretty!
Lauren Fuchs Agreed! Yay for twinning :)
Best one!
DIY video on the flowers please???
makeupmorgan23 that video will be up tomorrow!
I've set it up at home to try it out and I give it a 10/10
in love with your comforter!! where did you get it?
Jamie Courtney the one on my bed is Teen Vogue for JCPenney from years ago (beginning of my 7th grade year)
Amanda Krutsick :((( aw okay, thanks for replying anyways!!
Yay for BC!
you're so cute!!
I'm going to Wright State! :)
I love your hair.
I'm in LOVE with the bedding on the bed behind you!! Where is it from or who is it by? I need it in my life!
Wow, just got to the part when you said you've had it since 7th grade... Needless to say, I don't think it's sold anymore 😂😂
Savannah it was Teen Vogue for JCPenney, so maybe that would help you find it online!
You can use command strips for your picture frames
Thanks what kind of desk lamp do you recommend? Friends are saying either a Knoll or a Lumiy Lightline 1250 LED desk lamp (about $50)
Paul Gates I recommend the one I showed in this video, the TaoTronics LED lamp!
in all of the dorm hauls i've seen, almost everyone is up north in ohio and i'm over here in texas hoping to go to the university of arkansas.
