I don't think there's a cooler tone than that. Very impressive!
Mate, 100%
I was gonna agree with you but i remembered Eric Johnson...
@@deathbypotato5030 I'm a hugr fan of him. iI ove Manhatan.
Quer dizer que não só é um mestre no ensino da Matemática mas um entusiasta da guitarra?!. Olha só..!
Every "Soundcheck" from Steve is like a new show... he has to play note by note to get the perfect pitch for all the songs. Thats insane
The sign of a good and trusted drummer. "You're going too fast. I'm playing the tempo on the record." Don't be afraid to say follow my tempo. After all, that's his job. He is the heartbeat of the band. And, good job Steve for not shoving that guitar down his throat....Lol.
That might be his only true contribution here. Got nothing against hard hitting drummers but this is ridiculous.
@@nuggestar Follow the drummer or gtfo. If you don't trust your drummer, he shouldn't be in the band.
@@roadpop5647 I'm a drummer myself but nothing could be more untrue. The band now and then sounded so fucking speedy and bad until I got my shit together and played live to a metronome without exemption. It's not about trust, adrenalin does shit to your brain and you get carried away, and this just sounds bad everytime.
Props to Mr.Vai for trusting the drummer and listening. Just try and compartmentalize the concept of telling one of the best guitarists on the planet the tempo of his own song...
Steve is always a good sport.
Definitivamente una leyenda viva. Que la vida nos dé por muchos años más a Steve Vai
4:30 The guy with red shirt: "Naah I'm here not to play guitar.. It's not guitar in my guitar bag"
Vai is great. He's in a league of his own.
aaronbergAPB - Guthrie Govan - end of story !

The best live version I've heard him play
Such an amazing composition from him.
Dude just tears it up with pure passion.
What a refreshing tone in the very starting...
Damm that's an amazing sound..
Great mix, and his lead guitar sound is great....
Wow..thats really.. really..really awesome sound check 😍😍
Ive seen him twice...awesome each time...
beat guitar player on planet earth, bar none. Not only technique, but takes the instrument farther than anyone else. I love the guy
Damm that's an amazing sound and So~~~~~~~~~~~~Good!!
Awesome!!!! the big Steve vai
u r legend man
He never plays this live. I saw him when I was in high school like 12 years ago and I was just wishing he would play this. Such a perfect song.
I'm by no means the biggest fan of Steve Vai.
But Tender Surrender really, really is quite phenomenal.
i heard him play live once in hard rock-we were queing up to get in,from outside he sounded amazingly as if it was played from a record
Steve Via is just so damn good his note choices his tone his entire approach to playing his creativity is on a whole new level
Hell yeah he’s on the highest of levels!
You're stating the obvious, which is not very necessary and looks corny on yourself. Just saying.
so much... .great. . .
Ohhh so good
A living Guitar God!

3:38 A local man with local bags.... God bless if he goT inspired. LMFAO
Actually that drummer is the real main point
he is making faces even for the soundcheck!!
Jeremy is a beast
u r legend man I
Anyone know what Marshall head he could be using?
i think jcm 800/900 modded with his carvin legacy preamp in front
What about to make a zoom?
What I can't get over, is how hard the drummer is hitting...damn, almost a Bonham feel. Isn't his name Josh...something....
i thought his name was DIck with EARS since he is acting like a dick !
Steve vai here is looks tired, but still good...👏👍
Cool stuff. & a few lucky bastards got a front seat!
Steve Vai: are you rushing or are you dragging?
Oveja Negra At least no one got slapped. Lol.
THis has such good sound... the Dublin Square Idiots were horrible .. a complete sonic mess! I went all over the venue to check sound ... it was clipping... echoing.. booming... blooming.
3 hour sound check???
Iluminat a simbologia
the great job,sub again yah
😲🎸👍
R.I.P. Carvin...
He came in Pune n I wasn't aware 😔
Well now we know Steve Vai is human lol. Him coming in wrong after the drummer gave him the hits for reference was funny.
この曲コピーしてあげてるアマチュアの動画いくつか見たことあるけど、wやっぱ本家は音使いが分かってるって言うか、音も本物の音ですねw素晴らしいw
👍
Guitarist in front of the stage seems challenging Steve vai to have once again a guitar battle like the movie entitled "" croosroad"""" hehehehehe
I h hope this means he's with Marshall bc finally his tone is good
jeffrey centra no. His sound is at his amp at the back. And not all marshalls sound good. Oh the Placebo.
Origin Music ok...so shitty sound again
Rehearsing on gig day...?
otro ilumunati o que pedo con ese triangulo
Is it just me, or does Jeremy seem pissed off. He's bashing that snare harder than usual. LOL
SamadhiStudios he does look kinda mad
hungry like the wolf
This song is a lot like "Villanova Junction" by Jimmy Hendrix .
LRoy Shreding, yes!!!
Triangolo 👁 occhio
Everyone thinks he's using Marshalls!!! Just like everyone thought Slash, SRV and a bunch of others use Marshalls too. I don't mean to crush dreams but there are Dumble circuits in each of those guys amps. And, after a lil' reasurch you'll find out that Dumble's are a bit more costly then most can afford. But kuddos to Marshall who does their proper marketing and get people so psyched they'll take my word for granted. After all, Marshalls really aren't bad.
Jack Mason are you saying that those Marshalls on stage have all been modded by Mr Dumble? I’m not sure what you’re trying to say.
Neil, I wouldn't be surprised. That's what SRV, John Mayer, Slash and so many others do even when they are endorsed. There are Dumble circuits for sale on ebay and Reverb. and you can install them into any amp. It's gives it an amazing extra kick on the tone. They are pretty pricy though.
I don't believe. They didn't even travel with amps. Many rent. SRV used Bassman amps
he did afford carrying a set of his private guitars and his "real" amp. BTW there is a Bassman amp head for sale on reverb.com with Dumble circuits in it from a guy in Australia. It sounds pretty awesome. And it's not that expensive because it's just a copy of a Dumble. check it out if you're curious enough. cheers, bro!!!
Have you got any links to reference material that says Steve Vai used Dumble circuits in Marshalls?
Steve Vai tells me it's too fast, click track or not, I'm slowing the F down. haha
drummer told Vai it was too fast, not the reverse. At 00:36 drummer stops playing and shakes his head, Steve turns around like "wtf" and drummer says, "that was way too fast", Steve says "it's the tempo of the record" drummer replies, "I'm playing the tempo of the record."
Heyyyyyyy... it’s you! Surprised more people aren’t commenting as fans. Love your vids man! They help me tons!
wow it's the man himself
I love steve Vai's music and as a guitarist myself I respect him even even more so, But what we must all remember is when it comes to performing the drummer IS the tempo and you do as HE says (tempo wise, within reason of course) also why doesn't Steve have in ears with a quiet click track? would have solved the entire issue.
牛逼
God people put away the phones, your basically getting a free Vai show. So put them down and actually experience and appreciate it...
if they put it down, we wouldn't be able to enjoy this video on RUclips right now.
Dale Enright Stage guys, there use to it.
I love the kid in the blue with the white hat doing air drums. bet he thought he looked really cool at the time.
Borrowed from Villanova Junction blues by Jimi (reprise Woodstock)
Iluminati
Man I thought that was Mel Gibson walking towards the camera near the end
He's using marshalls again!
I wonder if it has something to do with the whole Carvin Audio going out of business....I bet his signature Legacy cabinets and amps are going to go for higher prices on the used market
I'm sure it does... he sounds better already...
No, it was a fly in gig... One gig in Asia so he just took his guitar and pedalboard with him.
No, it was a fly in gig... One gig in Asia so he just took his guitar and pedalboard with him. Everything else was rental stuff and no Carvin available.
Bought?? :D :D :D :D He has soooooooo many that he won't be running out anytime soon. And didn't buy any of them.
