I hate that some people hate this anime for being gay. As an idea,I'm a straight guy yet i loved this anime.

i can hardly look at the lyrics and the music video because it pains me :( it's all sweet and gives you chills until you actually read the manga and/or watch the anime (though the manga makes it even worse on your heart)

"Whatever you left behind became all of me" this lyrics gave a lot of meaning and impact to me.
For yuki leaving that guitar and memories to mafuyu. Because of that guitar mafuyu met uenoyama he found new love and is walking the path he wanted, a life with music in it, and someone by his side making those music with him.
For uenoyama the thing yuki leave for him is mafuyu, uenoyama losing interest in music and basketball but after meeting sato he loved those things again. Uenoyama found this whole new world by meeting mafuyu.
Yuki is the most important character in the anime for me. It feels like it somehow revolves around him even though he's already dead. (Just my perspective)
the true translation is "everything that you left behind became my everything", according to the writers, which sounds a lot better to me.

I kind of agree, but then again Yuki did leave Mafuyu alone after their fight at the station went to his head. Yes, he may be important, but he is not the most important, and could certainly have been a better person.
@@caseykitsIts not only Yuki's fault. Either its both their fault or not their fault at all. They got miscomunnication. Yuki got busy but Mafuyu couldnt happen to understand Yuki situation. Their fight were so childish, but theyre still teenager afterall so its understandable.

@@marssaldua1327 yuki wants to make a song for mafuyu so he joined a band and being in a band is a bit expensive so he have to do some part time jobs and because of that he doesn't have that much of time for sato. And sato didn't know the risks of being in a band so he got a bit mad and jealous (since yuki mostly hangout with their other 2 childhood friends since they're in the same band) to the point that he said something terible ('would you die for me') and yuki got depressed and he drunk himself till he did what mafuyu said (hanged himself). They didn't have that much time to talk that's why they end up like that I guess. Miscommunication always leads the worst ending. So who's at fault is on the readers/watchers decision. For me it's no one's fault they're too young so they make mistakes.

Seriously one of the best animated shounen ai series... most of the time shounen ai or yaoi anime are low budget but this anime really surprised me with the art and songs
this anime has better animation than some big studios anime like boruto (yeah, boruto is a shonen and it has a lot of episodes, but you got the idea)

And they usually are basically about rape and making it cool (Junjou Romantica or Sekaiichi Hatsukoi for example). I'm so glad that Mafuyuu got a nice boyfriend who doesn't abuse him.

It hurts so much when you realize that Kizuato & Fuyu no Hanashi are both about Mafuyu struggling with Yuki's death.
The happy thing is that the ending song is about moving on .....its about mafuyu thinking if its ok to love someone again and that someone is uenoyama

The thing is, i thought this anime was going to revolve around i-still-love-my-dead-bf kind of thing, but damn it wasn't, it was all about getting new fresh starts, i was so proud of mafuyu. But it's just really sad between mafuyu and yuki. All those songs in the anime just hit right in the feels. They didn't just sang and somewhat called it "passionate", they really sang and gave everyone goosebumps, even the watchers. 100/10 i love this anime and their songs

Yes. I feel like it was a very hopeful message. Because at the end of the day, Mafuyu is still connected to yuki and loves yuki in a way he will never love anyone again, but that doesn't mean he can't go on and find happiness. He's found a way to express himself and his feelings, music, which is also a way to stay connected to yuki forever. And he found uenoyama, who stands beside him and helps him in this path of creating music to let out his feelings and remember someone. It's his new path. This anime caused me a lot of confusion and frustration because it was something I didn't understand, and it made me struggle a lot but in the end it taught me a lot. I literally think everyone should watch it, or at least listen to the goddamn soundtrack like-

It’s such a realistic portrayal of grief and healing. Probably one of my fav anime’s of 2019 and up there in my top anime’s of all time.🥺💕

I just picture Yuki's face smiling when I hear this and how sad his life ended and Mafuyu can't forget him and sees him, feels him, hears him everywhere he goes. Yuki was by his side but he lost him, that's the story. SUPER DRAMATIC

Yeah maybe it was so confusing. In the manga the lyrics where in this song but the tune of Mafuyu's lalala was like the Ending song
tbh I wish that it's a new song entirely and not one of the published OSTs, it'd have more impact that way
I doubt it will be the ED or the OP since the directors/producers have been very good about NOT revealing anything to us before it is revealed in the anime. For example for the first episode we got a piano version of the ED, because Mafuyu's singing voice had not been revealed until the end of episode 2 and then we got the ED with vocal. Second, we did not get official translated lyrics to either the ED or OP until episode 5, where get got more info about Mafuyu's past. Plus in the title of the song Mafuyu sings is in the Manga and neither if these song titles are it.

When I went to watch this show the one thing I did not expect was to remember dad and have my heart ripped out over his death all over again. Given understands grief. I don't know how, I don't even know why, but I would recommend anyone who's grieving to watch this show. Even the opening gets it. Not to mention what a great song it is to listen to. I'm seriously blown.

I watched this on Anime9 recently and the first lyrics in the intro was "Everything you left behind, became my everything."
From that line, you can clearly see that struggle of Mafuyu about Yuki's death, and why he was so surprised to find that Yuki's guitar could be fixed.
Imagine that Mafuyu wrote this song "by himself (You know what I mean🥲)" and after his boyfriend died, he gave these lyrics to Yuki's friends from band😭😭😭
This song hits me so so hard especially how it tells Mafuyu's story so well.. everytime I listen to this I get reminded of that. and yeah I am very curious to know what song will he sing in the live (still havent reached that part)

I can't believe that this was 2 years ago already. Time flies so fast. I remembered reading the manga weeks before it's official anime release and I was hooked on its story.. I was looking forward to the song upon reading this chapter and the song was perfect. It is really well written of Mafuyu's suffering. I still got the same chills every time I listen to this song.
I need more songs from this anime, they all have such good meanings and the melodies itself are so nice to listen to and conveys the emotions excellently

I’m currently binge watching this series and I absolutely LOVE it. They have banger music, sure, but the storyline and characters just blow me away. Now that I’m getting to the REALLY emotional part of the series (I’m currently on episode 8), this song really hits different. I just love this anime and the music so much.

This is one of the most beautiful songs I've encountered. You can feel the raw emotion he was trying to convey which fits perfectly with the anime. I watched it in only 2 days and loved every minute. Truly a beautiful story!

I love how given songs are so expressive. It's unique, and u can feel it. It shookt me to the core. I can still cry from listening to given songs over and over again.

This anime is not like any other BL stories. I love the story telling. I mean everything was just so beautiful about this anime. It made me cry every episode ♥

I absolutely loved this anime and the way that every song is written, is very powerful. Given is by far one of my favourite BL animes and just the whole show is so powerful. I especially love Mafuyu's song Fuyu no Hanashi because how it explains his and Yuki's relationship. Everytime I hear it I tear up. I love this show and the songs. They are beautiful and amazingly written!

As a straight guy I loved this anime it broke all stereotypes of its genre. I wish there were more anime with its qualities but there arent. Since its from 2019 i am hopeful that more anime like this are near :)

I legitimately have no clue which song is going to be sung in the live episode. Part of me thinks it's be the ending song because it matches to the la la la song, but part of me hopes it's this song.
This song just has sooo much more of an impact, from the hype of it, to the lyrics " whatever you left behind, became all of me". And with how the manga was drawn/how stunned the characters were, it makes me hope for a BAM song like this? Since the ED is a bit slower?
I'll love it either way, but this is the song I play when I reread that part of the manga

And in the manga, the second song is referred to as a love song by haruki, and the ED seems more like a love song?

"whatever you left behind became all of me" that was sad considering the fact that mafuyu blamed himself for yuki's death but it was their lack of communication which had led to it
