  • This is a re upload, some of my older footage in this video compilation was pretty bad quality so I decided to get better quality from the original tapes and re do it. This video includes many rare EMD diesel engines, several models of note are, F3, F7, BL2, NW2, SW1, high hood GP7 & GP9

    Great video! Sure do miss the Clinchfield over here, loved hearing the horn on the weekends and being able to walk downtown to see it

    Very good work. In the future, show the rolling stock so viewer can pick out road names

    to be fair, I have a bit of a weird opinion on diesel. I like the usage of diesel engines because of their ability to run on anything ranging from coal dust to vegetable oils, however I have a slight distaste for its usage in trains, but not in road vehicles. What's even weirder is some go great lengths to modify a diesel engine to emit large amounts of black or grey sooty exhaust fumes which I believed got the name rolling coal from the train world.

    Man, American diesels are so bizarre looking compared to UK ones. The way they have a coach door on their back-end, WTF?!

      The early American diesels were designed with streamlining in mind as that was all the rage in the 40's and 50's, the units with the door on the back is for access to the motor and electronics since there are no access doors on the sides. I think they look great.

    Why film at a crossing? All you can hear is that stupid bell and bloody air horns. No idea what the loco engine sounds like.

      I try to not film at crossing all the time but many times it's unavoidable if you are chasing and trying to keep up with the train to get video, especially if you are not familiar with the route. Also very rude comment, I spend alot of time filming, editing and uploading video for people to watch fore free. Also many railfans like to hear the loco bell and horn or whistle.

      @@baldwinloco12 sorry old chap I don't mean to be rude. I do appreciate your efforts thanks. I suppose you are used to the row your trains make. You see we are spoiled in Britain our trains don't have to warn people they are coming as every bit of track is fenced off. I do like to hear the engine in the loco but on many American video's they are usually filmed on crossings. I have one video of a US built loco a class 66 but it is mainly coasting down hill so the engine is not too distinct. Keep up the good work. David.

      @@ddpeak1 No problem, I may be going to Britain with my Brother in Law next year. I'm hoping to see the Flying Scotsman if I get to go.
