NOTE: After 2 years of use it still runs pretty well however you REALLY need to have books to prop up the laptop for cooling circulation. It can easily overheat so get some books or a cooling pad to maximise performance 2 years later.
I've upgraded mine with 64gb RAM and an NVME and I find the battery is being drained because the 200w adapter can't keep up with the power draw. Trying to find a solution, but I can only play 5 hours straight before having to stop and wait for the battery to recharge.
ive just noticed this, its not over heated but it does get hot and the fans keep kicking in?! im confused because my laptop is supposed to be SSD... do they still have fans??
Don't forget that gaming laptops like this will perform at 40-50 fps most of the time if you're gaming unplugged. Sometimes the fps can be below 30, so if ur gaming unplugged change the nvidia setting in the control panel to prefer max performance and turn off battery boost + go into windows power settings and change ur power plan, and make one with high performance regardless of battery life. This won't greatly decrease battery life but it is still worth doing if you get this laptop. I learned this the hard way lol. After doing this, its been a blast gaming on this rig.
Literally was about to buy one, but in the UK you can get a 1050ti with the same specs just for a little less. I will not be getting the 1060 as I only do light gaming. This video overall helped a lot. 👍🏻
I’d disagree with gaming not needing 16GBs of Ram nowadays, 8 is a minimum but 16GB is pretty safe for gaming nowadays too. Playing Forza Horizon 4 or FF XV can easily get more than 11GBs of ram usage nowadays even when I have nothing else running in the background.
i totally agree, i had only 8 GB and it was pain in the ass when i use a second monitor where i open some chrome tabs and open a main program in my main monitor, it just keeps freezing. after i got an extra 8 GB it just became so smoooth
So this laptop will thrive with 64GB of RAM, like deadass run everything but I think I'm understanding why these things were under-powered from the factory. Toss in an actually fast NVME and enough RAM to keep the system from bottlenecking, then you'll find the battery dies when plugged in faster than most laptops do unplugged. Granted I run StarCitizen at highest settings and record it, I think they just can't get enough power to the boards without, idk, legit a second charging circuit?
@@Dolvondo Also imo 16 is a bottle neck. The most RAM intense game I have, Star Citizen, would crash constantly before I upgraded. After the bump to 64, that game will regularly use 20+GB of RAM and that doesn't start counting in other things the computer might be doing. Even Modern Warfare can grab 12GB for itself these days.

Really nice review but I think I think it's kind of "misleading" to imply that having a 6 core CPU isn't gonna have any impact on gaming. Also buying a new gaming system in 2018 with anything less than 16GB or RAM would be a terrible choice in my opinion, especially for future proofing. I'm pretty sick of red and black, but with this laptop, they did it right. It actually looks nice and slick. Other gaming laptops can quite literally look like toys.
GTAV is notorious for high rise temps I have this laptop even with a cooling pad it gets well over 150°F ++ && runs arma 3 like a dream on low settings every other game I've played runs just fine
I have the last year model. Monitor went out within a few month of using it. Screen kept flickering and stayed dark while doing it. Updated all drivers and no fix, but turning down the brightness all the way then back up helped. Hopefully doesn't happen with this new one
i have to same one but with a single hinge in the middle, same specs. I do not get much fan noise in mine. i do like the look of that mouse but i have to say i love my trackball more, nothing worse than dragging a mouse across worktops. nice review thanks.
I just bought HP Omen 15 with GTX 1650 4 GB, Processor i7 9750H and 512 SSD. I played last night PUBG and APEX on max settings you can play and the temps are pretty solid GPU 60 maximum 65 Celcius and CPU around 70-75 very rarely 80, but in command center if i click on performance and set it to comfort where it says to cool CPU and GPU it lowers the temps to GPU 50-55 and CPU to 60-65, while my room temp is 27 Celcius.
It seems Walmart is trying to throw all of these out before Black Friday this year. The top model (the one with the gtx1060) is selling at a few stores for $400
You really need to choose the 144hz 1080p panel on this laptop. It's on the one that I've got, not only does it support full Nvida G-Sync, but it's far brighter and has much better colour reproduction. As for not being impressed with the thermals, thank the i7 for that. I deliberately chose the i5-8330h model with the GTX1060. This results in far better thermals with little drawback with performance, or in gaming at least. Also, it's very easy to install precision drivers for the trackpad. It makes it far better.
I actually got an OMEN prebuilt pc as my first and it’s really good, I think they’re a pretty damn good brand my pc was a good price too, I’ve gotta say they’re logo is hideous though.
SPECS: GTX 1070, i7 7700, 16gbs DDR4 Ram (only 1tb HDD). I got it for 1,100 in February and at the time because of miners it would be literally impossible to build a pc that good for the price so it was a steal in my eyes :). Also it gets pretty hot sometimes and a little noisy but it doesn’t bother me, the cooling could be better.

I've been told back and forth that the keyboard on the Omen 15 isn't RGB, it's only either red or white based on which you choose during configuration. Is it actually RGB like the video says?
Road to 2ml! Let's go Ed!
I’m saving up for my first pc you are a great influence.
Best rewiev of all of em for HP Omen!
Bought it today and after a day use, I can tell you that it’s actually really worth it, I love it so far
Still love it?
My product name is OMEN by HP-15-dc0050ur. Monitor flexibility. I flexed my monitor a little and some fields of screen changed their colour to white. Is it normal process?
@@Aphixy 1:33 is it harmful for monitor or screen view?
I have the 17t, its heavenly and extremely awesome, ive never loved gaming as much as i do now
This is a great gaming LT computer, however it has a static electricity issue... it will turn off if you zap it without grounding yourself first.
Szia!

Your voice is so relaxing....
i think i'm gonna buy this
thank you for this amazing video^^
Nice video tech source just watching your pc guides building my first rig on Wednesday post a video on all my hardware on twitter :)
Mine arrived two days ago, and you are right, loud fans hahaha The boot is super fast and the screen (i have the 144hz) is just gorgeous. It does heat up, but i still need to update my bios and do a proper long session game, i hope it doesnt go to 90.
You mentioned the speakers quite fast, honeslty, the sound is clear and loud, i like it.
Im satisfied with my purchase, good laptop
I’m glad you enjoyed it 👌🏻

Did the headset and mouse come with the laptop or do you have to buy them separate?
i have to same one but with a single hinge in the middle, same specs. I do not get much fan noise in mine. i do like the look of that mouse but i have to say i love my trackball more, nothing worse than dragging a mouse across worktops. nice review thanks.
Really like the design 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I love you😂 keep up the good work I love watching your vids.
60 hz and I told myself that's a no go real quick...
Is the laptop good? I'm thinking about buying how is your long-term use with it?😊
It seems Walmart is trying to throw all of these out before Black Friday this year. The top model (the one with the gtx1060) is selling at a few stores for $400
Headphones and mouse come in da box?
You have a point
SPECS: GTX 1070, i7 7700, 16gbs DDR4 Ram (only 1tb HDD). I got it for 1,100 in February and at the time because of miners it would be literally impossible to build a pc that good for the price so it was a steal in my eyes :). Also it gets pretty hot sometimes and a little noisy but it doesn’t bother me, the cooling could be better.
Simon when he fell on his face how did you get an gtx1070 soo cheap
@@jackson-2871It was a prebuilt.
My uncle works for hp so I got myself a great deal on this laptop. Recommend it highly, and I run a lot of fortnite and bo4.
Looks dope! I’m rockin the omen with the i7 7700 and the RX 580 8gb model
