I've Can Hardly Wait To Go To See Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cinderella The West End Musical At London's Wonderful Gillian Lynne Theatre Aka The New London Theatre In London's Glittering West End This Year. Wish Me Luck. Thanks Mate. X
Loved the video and good honest review. I wonder how it will do in the west end, and if eventually it will make it's way to the States on Broadway where I can see it, because I don't think I'll be in London anytime soon. Love your review videos. Keep up the good work.
I'm totally with you on Victoria Hamilton-Barritt. I'll be honest I hadn't heard of her before seeing this the other week, and I've totally fallen in love with her. So much. She's just phenomenal. Probably the best actor I have seen live on stage. It was worth every single penny of the ticket I bough and much more. I did enjoy the show, I get where you're coming from with the negatives, but myself I actually really enjoyed it all. It doesn't take a great deal to please me though so it probably says more about me than the quality of the show haha.
YAY, great review I watched it at previews and I enjoyed the cast especially Carrie, Ivano and Victoria but thinking about it all the Cinderella remakes this year didn't do much of a story to validate a remake. (Act 2 opening was so fun) and I loved the costumes. This one had such potential especially the world-building. making a perfect town where everyone spends money on making themselves perfect or on her relationship with the sisters. There's so much that could have been fleshed out but wasn't and I feel it's because of the music.
What a fun review; and it did give me a good idea of what the show is like at this stage. If it comes to the States, they will probably work on the staging and maybe cut a few of the repeats. With a good book, at least that's something to work with.
I absolutely love your guys’ videos and this review of Cinderella! Will you be doing a review for heathers at the other palace that’s starting in a few weeks?
I loved it when I saw it back in September I was meant to see it the same week as you guys I also had tickets the week there was a covid case in the cast. so saw lion king instead. but finally got to see this west end live weekend and loved it. Another fab review guys : )
I've been anticipating your review of this show more than the show itself. The music is really lame. Great video as always! Will you be reviewing the Diana musical on Netflix?
I absolutely hated this show!!! I agree the cast were great but I hated the story, hated the music. Bloody awful! Was the worst show I’ve seen in years!! PS - your pic you have put up for Laura Baldwin, isn’t Laura! Xx
Absolutely agree. 5 star cast and performance. But the music and lyrics were so underwhelming and lazy! Plus I don't think there was much of a spin at to the Original Cinderella. We still get a girl who is hated by her step family and ends up with the prince. Show me a Cinderella, that tells the prince to F off or kills her stepmother... But this was a story we've seen before. except she was a bit rebellious. Not a show I want to see again. But oh my god, the stepmother was amazing!
You've nailed it. If the lyrics had have been more gritty, I could have forgiven it. "Bad Cinderella is the catty name that they call me". "Catty"? What the fuck?!
This is odd because the reviews from the papers and theatre world generally gave the show a good write up, but the reviews from the bloggers and you tubers all have various issues with the show, be it the music, the lyrics, the actual story, the acting and small plot lines that went nowhere or were not basically required. My wife and I saw the show last week (Carrie Hope Fletcher was not on that night) and I have to say that by the interval, we were both wondering what was was going on and where was the buzz. For us the second half didn't get any better and we basically summed it up as a total car crash; when you start to wish the thing would just end, it signifies it ain't a great show. Evita it certainly isn't. The one question that keeps coming back to me though is why did Andrew Lloyd Weber decide to do it in the first place?

SHE. IS. EVERYTHING.
I’d never heard of her. Totally in love with her - everything about her is funny, and so talented!

Awww, thanks Danielle! So glad to have you along as a #FellowLegger x
I think the Bad Cinderella song sounds very much like Nick Kershaws ‘The Riddle’

@@TheBreakALeggers "with you trophy wives and interchangeable spouses" is a line that makes my skin crawl 😅

Bad Cinderella sounds exactly like “In my own little corner” 😅
ALW is a hack but I enjoyed the experience of being in the revolve when I saw it. I felt like a giddy kid at 40 years old.
...and to think that ALW sacrificed Phantom for THIS... 🙄😓. Great Vlog as always, guys 🌈.
This Musical was really dumb. Disappointed it was in my 2nd favourite theatre
Flash Dance was underwhelming.....just saying
and Adams Family was basically the plot of- La Cage aux Folles
LOVE your words about ALW's voting biting him in the arse.
Forgettable score, clunky lyrics, cliche story
