New Allen Combined Cycle Plant in Memphis

Our newest generating plant, the Allen Combined Cycle Natural Gas Plant in Memphis, is now officially complete and ready to operate. The $900 million investment will deliver over 1,000 megawatts of electricity, enough for roughly 580,000 homes and businesses. The site also burns methane gas from a nearby landfill and includes a 1-megawatt solar farm. A great investment in Memphis that benefits the entire Valley!

I wonder what the total duration of the project was from initial announcement to completion as well as the total cost. I am gathering data for a college paper on comparative costs and time duration's to construct and put into operation various plant types as well as their anticipated service life expediencies. Working on my BS in Technical Management with my major in Project Management.
