- After surfacing on social media earlier this month, flocks of adventurers and photographers have taken to Utah’s West Desert in search of a majestic, blue canal.
I'm more impressed with the 80mph speedlimit
Nothing to see and places to get to.
Me too. Wish Tennessee had that.
I went to Utah and we couldn't believe the speed limit 80
@@nerissamartinez3669 there shouldnt be a speed limit.
The train gets to stretch its legs too right there
10 years from now we will see the commercial at 3 am:
Have u been to the brine waters in Utah ? Do u have rash, infallibility, cancer, 3 toes missing , can’t see?
Well let us represent you against this big bad company with a class action lawsuit.
Na that’s the vaccine!!
Bah
Its just very salty water just like the dead sea. Definately safer than any dam or river / creek water. Good grief.

Yep! For the fear of missing out, which can be so traumatic for some idiots.
The phrase itself is inherent to PRIMAL instincts, I hardly think it's a recent revelation, we've' been copying each other since the caves! LOL ;)
It's always been a thing bud
If I were the waterway mineral rights owner I would address it by selling online kayaking permits (with liability waiver forms signed) lol
Thanks for exposing the secret spot, this should help.
It has a highway through it, it's no secret.
They just shot off the starting gun...
News station does a story on it to bring more attention to it and tells you exactly where it is then tells people to stay away.
Right?! I hadn't heard of the place until watching this news story.
My thoughts exactly
They're probably shocked to see water that isn't gross looking. "Ooo it looks like ocean."
Social media is bringing too much, let’s put it on national television!!
I was just there 2 days ago. The canals were not blue but murky. Still rad to see these in the Salt Flats though. FYI, take exit 4 and go North to the gas station near the freeway. That road will take you back about 1/4 mile to one of the canals. This is public land and also the road that takes you back to the Salt Flats Raceway. Great little stop for some cool photos and the opportunity to drive on the Flats at any speed you like. Just make sure you stay on the road during the winter/early spring or you will get stuck in the mud out there.
Fun Fact: America has the most amount laws in the world, And even in history, there has never been a nation in the whole history of man with as many laws.
That's why every swinging dick wants to come here.
And we break them every day, one way or another .
More of guidelines really. No one enforces 95 percent of,them.
The constitution was written as chains to bind the government to never have power over the people protecting our natural rights...the government has broke the oath that they all swear to uphold and is currupted therefore it is time to ABOLISH IT!
You've apparently never been to England
Seems like an opportunity to add a revenue stream. Just put signs up to let people know where to enter the 'park' and charge for parking.
$45 per car. That'd be $450 for a total of 10 cars. Someone would be making a heck of a living.
Exactly what I thought. Sending people away? What a silly approach! Why not make it safe for them to stop and build a business on it.
You can imagine what would happen if the authorities let this go on without restrictions. Defective brain people, which make up a majority in this country alone, would be drinking the water and dying of thirst, drowning, fighting and killing each other, piling up on the interstate, etc. Hell, letting them do their thing might not be such a bad idea after all.
aka Natural Selection.
We should do less to get in the way ;-)
After all I think forest Gumps Mama said it’s a way to weed out the stupid son
Let's rebrand it Darwin Channel.
Considering there is nothing toxic on the water, and a lot of it is on public land how is this a bad thing... other than they haven't found a way to charge for it?
Wow you are horrible. Have fun in your world of over bearing laws.
And these same people probably fearful of a cough & a sneeze. Double masked.

@@ImageThisPhoto Thats not how a scientific theory works, jackass. "Theory" in scientific language is a completely different concept than "theory" in layman's terms. A scientific theory involves factual, proven, empirical information that is all connected in some way, and the only missing piece is exactly how those facts are connected. Its not the same as the common way people would think of a theory as a guess -- in scientific terms, that is described by the term "hypothesis", although a hypothesis is generally much more well developed and educated than a regular guess or layman's theory. Y'all really missed 6th grade science where you should have learned this very basic information? Are you proud of having the scientific literacy of a 3rd grader? You should be ashamed instead. Company property.
Liability if they drown or get hurt.
Now... the company should definitely post it, or fence it off since the hubbub has started.. but it's still private property.

If it was a Republicans three ring circus tent and they were paying politicians to set up the tent it would be a good deal then. Baaahaaqbaa
Why don’t the authorities embrace it and make a site out of it instead of acting like some power tripping force that has to put an end to all fun things! It’s pretty cool and they could generate some revenue maybe!

Salts are not equal.
Eighty miles per hour speed limit? That means people are driving 90-95 mph. Who obeys speed limits?

Which BLM? Lmfao.
Here's some advice, the last year has changed the way we entertain ourselves...... The masses have spoken, they want access to a unique area like this... looks like this mining company has been presented with an opportunity to develop a new revenue stream and solve the problem of people accessing their water by capitalizing on this demand for unique entertainment. I suspect the chance of getting caught adds to the hype, so, keep the security and continue to hassle them, but charge them for it. That's all you get for free, of you want more you have to pay me :)
They are interested in doing that.
Besides that blue water will be green after everyone pees in it.
Damn genius haha
"Hey Look at me!! I'm on Twitter, oh crap, where's my feet?"
As a long time over the road truck driver I cant even remember the amount of times I've seen wreckers on that stretch of road pulling cars (including a few big trucks) out of the muck.. I've been passed by cars going 120+mph easy on that stretch of road only to see them wrecked a couple miles later.. and people think its safe to park on the side and have a pick-nick and drink a beer.. sheesh.
Thanks, you boring old geezer.

You need to drive by miles of nothing to get there. Flat miles of nothing. It is like being on another planet.
Made a travel video with another one of these canals in a diferent state, however, I never reveal locations. I was horrified for a second thinking this was the remote and left alone canal I filmed last year. Thank god its spared for now.

"Perfect! Let's go for a swim!"
State highway right of way is 30 feet. As long as ya park more than 30 feet off the highway the cops shouldn't be allowed to say much. Get the property owners permission to park tho.
Or, "stupid people, trying to stop stupid people from doing stupid things"
So much for a free country
In 2021 with the droughts.
How is water now in same areas
Of course the mining company had to pick the state with the highest amount of misinformation being consumed and believed every second of every day!!
Social media has made humanity stupid AF or made what was already there more apparent.
If they want you to stay away that means it’s a gold mine lol of fun.
I've worked in the potash mines in British Columbia and we had ponds like this on site. The sodium content was so high that it would burn your skin if you were to touch it without protection on so I don't get why people what to kayak or even dip their feet in that water
If people are interested in visiting the waterway from BLM land, the government should try to create an access. The government shouldn't build a new exit on I-80, but if people want to go overland from another road, someone should find a way to allow that.
We have over 13 thousand "sky blue waters" here in Minnesota. Most lakes are open to the public.
If it's safe for use why not sell tickets and pay the share holders?
I just watched a video about the Blue Lagoon in Iceland. It reminded me of this, and that’s why I came here. So in Iceland, someone made a lagoon for bathing, from the mineral water that is basically a by product of a geothermal plant there. It is now part of a lush resort that makes a ton of money from tourists. This seems like a missed opportunity to me. These owners could probably make a ton of money if they made these canals safe for people, put in a parking lot and charged a nice entrance fee.
Welcome to Utah, DON'T TOUCH or Karen WILL get you!!
Petty, petty, petty, oh hell, lookey there, some people having a little fun and not hurting anything, we need to put a stop to that...solving crimes can wait, this is more important.
All the other natural lakes up in the mountains and people wanna swim in a salty ass water mixture lol
Yeah gringos😂
Yeah because the government is so very concerned about your safety
I'm sure it will be covered in trash soon
Very Good!..
How much is the parking ticket ?
Tax deductible business expense if you take a potential "client".
Or
Just Cost of living ( it up )
I thought this was a free country but damn you for playing in water
I live in America and I got to say everything is Turing into no fun and you get tickets for everything.
Puts waterway on public land in open veiw of a highway... doesn't want people using it.... Brilliant idea.
It's funny how the authorities always try to stop us from enjoying gods free gifts. I'm sure they are working on a way to cash in on this gem of a geological feature. I fully understand the parking issues. Please do not park on or near the freeway. This being said I hope people are careful and respectful and dont do things to damage the ecological area.
Rules.... where we're going there aren't any rules!!
americans: its blue so you can swim in it
Social media ruins it for everyone else
It's always something, I'd say, as long as they don't obstruct, tag too much and clean up after themselves, let them be, but it is what it is and you have to be safe and stay on public property.
charge them $200 per entry, that'll do it
Saw this aquaduct yesterday and it's almost completely dried up or drained.
just to make sure really? I am planning go there in September...
I went there yesterday its as beautiful as ever. But does kinda smell funny. Didn't swim but others were.
So because it’s Private property?
Seems like a place to build a toll road pull out and a paid parking lot.
Easy. Advertise the hell out of this place, build one parking lot for access, and CHARGE 10 per day bucks to park!
I’m afraid to even jump in my above ground pool people just don’t get enough of watching the news And seeing people die due to these canals rivers and oceans.
Well, the canal is beautiful. It's gonna attract interest.
Yeah I would leave it clean and pristine because I'm getting the feeling someone's going to pee in that brine pool...

I hope fun police show up soon. Karen! Karen!
I went here before it really got popular due to the news running story’s on it. After you get out you have to wash off the salt crystals that form on your body hair. But I drove past it last week and it was dried up and looked like it’s been filled in.
