So beautiful. What a tribute. I can hear the mothers, all over the world, crying as they listen to this. Is there any force more powerful than motherhood? R. I. P., Maureen.
My Grandfather passed last Christmas morning and when he died, most of my Grandmother went with him. She had already been diagnosed with Dementia but the grief of losing her best friend of 67 years... this last year we've watched her fade away. This morning we couldn't find her, she had snuck out of the house while my dad slept and took off. luckily we found her. half a mile from home, in our neighbors cattle pasture, my dad and step mom's little shitzu mix stayed right with her the whole way. Thankfully she wasn't physically hurt but its to the point now that we can't care for her, we can't keep her safe. in all likely she's gonna have to from the hospital to a care facility. i hate it, i miss my Gramma, the fierce, vibrant, creative, and loving spitfire of a woman, the best grandmother anyone could ask for. My whole life, our family has been tied together by my grandparents, not just holidays but weekends spent with them holding us all in close like gravity. We all feel scattered to the wind now.
Listen man, I need you to know that your music has reduced me to absolute puddles more times than I can count. The passion in your work hits somewhere deeeep in the soul, and has a way of cleansing and healing all at once. You’re changing lives out here. The world needs more artists like you ❤ beautiful, all of it.
I lost my dad to mental illness in 2017 and then my mom passed 14 months later in 2019. I just found your music again after years. Thank you for your poetry
