I am always amazed when I think about how our earth's crust contains water pure enough to drink, oil to run our car and planes, natural gas to heat our homes, and dozens of other elements, and yet each of these maintains it's unique identity without contaminating each other. It's almost like someone put them there on purpose for us to use.

    I like your presentation Jim.
I would add that since the fine TUNER is outside the Universe HE'S created, the Carbon Life Forms have been given curiosity, in order to search through the Tuners Universe and reveal HE'S not there but points to HIM beyond it, beyond just the physical. It's HIS signature if you will. Much like we ourselves are.

The only way a "goldilocks" universe could emerge from an infinite number of universes by chance is if the universes are causally related to one another. This is why proponents of a multiverse (for which there is zero evidence) speculate that there must be a universe generating mechanism which constantly spits out new universes, ultimately leading to a "goldilocks" lottery winner universe which supports carbon-based life. But what they conveniently overlook is the fact that such a mechanism must itself be equally fine tuned, as Dr. Stephen C. Meyer explains so well in his book Return of the God Hypothesis. In other words, it just kicks the can down the road so to speak and still begs the question of how the fine tuning originated. The desperation of naturalists to avoid the obvious is leading to more and more absurd speculation. Occam's Razor, guys.

we don't need to create a multiverse to explain life.
there are an incomprehensible amount of stars, with terrestrial planets with atmospheres, magnetic fields, and tectonic plates, in the stars habitable zone. (btw, mars is also in the sun's habitable zone)
it would stand to reason (assuming evolution and abiogenisis is correct) life would develop in atleast some of those planets.
its like rolling a dice hoping to get 1,2,3,4,5,6. roll a dice enough times, you are going to get it, have enough planets with the right ingredients and conditions for life, and some of them will develop life.

A fine tuner is certainly a simpler explanation than a multiverse, but it might be held that a multiversse is possible, if less likely.

  • @CenturianCornelious

If there is a multiverse, then there are an infinite number of universes and so necessarily an infinite number of universes precisely the same as this one in every minute particular. That means those other identical universes are absolutely indistinguishable in every way whatsoever from this one.
But that would make those universes this universe. So there is only one universe.

Another obvious flaw in the argument for a multiverse is the hypocrisy of the argument. To argue against an unseen creator who is greater than the universe, they instead suggest a different unseen source, which is also greater than the universe. They themselves are using a god-of-the-gaps argument, only calling it something other than God. Even so, I like your argument more.

It's a choice. I've spoken to atheists who given the choice would pick an inconceivable number of multiverses as the best explanation over a conceivable God, because the idea is inconceivable. And it warers down the uniqueness of this universe to a random accident multiplied by an inconceivable number of times. Forget rationality. It's all about distance. A God in some OTHER , random, inconceivably distant universe is, to their mind, more conceivable than a God in this one. Too close. Far away, unreachable, nothing to do with them. Better. For that reason, any multiverse theory is entirely acceptable, even preferable, if it allows them the possibility of dismissing the unique design elements of this one. Which requires it to set the God question aside. That's why Dawkins believe aliens did it. Why aliens created aliens. Why a multiverse is an intriguing possibility. It's got Romans 1 written all over it. The nearest black hole is here on Earth. The one made against all logic to embrace the incredible at the expense of the logical. Coz. And pours lives into it to render them meaningless. That, too, is a choice. And pity the person that embraces that.

We know that windows and doors don’t shut and lock by natural processes or at random. We know that clothes don’t pile up and block ventilation by natural processes or at random. We know humans exist and they can lock windows, shut doors and arrange clothes. A human is the logical conclusion for what caused the conditions which killed the woman.
On the other hand, we DON’T know whether a finely tuned universe can come into being purely at random or by natural processes. Highly, highly improbable doesn’t mean impossible. God is certainly a plausible explanation, but unless we disprove randomness and natural processes, fine tuning alone doesn’t prove He is the only possibility (and therefore prove that He exists). Sorry

Assuming you're not a bot might be my first mistake, but I've got nothing better to do right now, so here we go. This video is a part of a longer presentation, but even as such is kept very concise, leaving out mountains of details which you could find on your own if you cared to do so instead of just arguing from a place of ignorance. I just finished reading a book a few days ago that presents the evidence of fine tuning in a more conclusive and especially verbose way. Even still, the author of that book has only touched on the mountains of detail available to anyone who really cares to find it. Basically, the truth is that at this point, every possible hypothesis EXCEPT for intelligent creation has been thoroughly rejected by every branch of science. Only the most sincerely committed materialists (atheists) still hold the idea that the world we live in was not intelligently designed. They have become the religious nuts holding onto their beliefs in spite of the evidence that they claimed they were trying to protect us from.
