      But with wrongs answer. Airplane rise because of pressure difference. Thats why wings are very large unlike helicopter blades

      @@hcnagaraj its not wrong, lift is caused by Bernoulli's Principle as you described but also by Newton's Third Law

      actually the physics of flight is very complicated. Most explanations are very simple. Flight is governed by the Navier-Stokes equations which are difficult to solve and even that is not the whole story.

      Because people see birds and started to figure out how flying works. And started to build and use flying things using logical measurements. And time by time planes got more modern and better and better. Improving. As nowadays we can experience the highest point of engineering science result.

      What is the meaning of that airplane takes off against the wind not with it plz someone clarify me this

    • @Amfkndinosaur
      @Amfkndinosaur 5 лет назад +5

      Bari Khar
      That refers to the fact that an aircraft always takes off and lands against the wind. (Headwind)
      This is because when it moves against the wind, it comes in contact with more air particles and a greater lift is created for the take off configuration.
      While when you’re landing a greater drag comes into play and helps the airplane slow down on touchdown.
      Hope you understood :)

    Did you forget Santos Dumont? The Wright brothers' flight did not fulfill the conditions that had been set up at the time to distinguish a true flight from a prolonged hop. But Santos-Dumont's flight did meet the criteria, which in essence meant he took off unassisted, publicly flew a predetermined length in front of experts and then landed safely.

    • @Observ45er
      @Observ45er 9 лет назад +1

      +Marco4Racer The criteria back them may not have been very good since those who set them were probably not aware of the most important requirements for useful flight. Maneuverability is certainly a very important requirement. If today's aircraft are the appropriate metric by which to judge "airplane-ness" then the Wrights most definitely figured out and used the type of control used in today's aircraft. As I understand it from my extensive reading, the planes before the Wrights (both large and models) used the rudder to turn like a ship. I do recall that the Belriot/Voisin efforts did, but can't say about Dumont and Whitehead for sure, but it is well known that the Wrights nailed the control and the identification of the three major aspects of lift, power and control.

    • @Observ45er
      @Observ45er 9 лет назад +1

      +Leonardo Guelfi Using a catapult for "airplane" critera is an over simplified measure. If today's aircraft are the appropriate metric by which to judge "airplane-ness" then the Wrights most definitely figured out and used the type of control used in today's aircraft. In addition, catapults are indeed used on aircraft carriers for the same reason the Wrights used one. As I understand it from my extensive reading, the planes before the Wrights (both large and models) used the rudder to turn like a ship. I do recall that the Belriot/Voisin efforts did, but can't say about Dumont for sure, but it is accepted that the Wrights nailed the control and the identification of the three major aspects of lift, power and control.--

      +Joe Smith this argument is literally a hundred years old. santos publicly displayed his research while the wrights kept the flyer secret. by modern standards, the 14 Bis will be first

    • @Observ45er
      @Observ45er 9 лет назад +1

      jiunn wong I haven't researced this, but was the 14 Bis fully controlable like the Wright's was, or was it doing skidding turns? I know some of the first French planes hadn't figured out the banked turn... If we are to use "modern standards" I think controlability should be a requirement.
      ...
      EDIT:
      The 14 bis had only pitch ahd yaw controls. If modern standards are what decides who invented what then the Wrights had it nailed.
      Cheers

    • @LCdrDerrick
      @LCdrDerrick 9 лет назад

      +Joe Smith The first proven flight heavier than air by dynamic lift (real wings, not a balloon or something) was performed by Otto Lilienthal. At this time the important inventions, such as engines of all sorts and certainly wings had all been made in Europe and not in the States. In this still cultureless brute's country one had to go to the blacksmith in case of toothache at the time. The few tycoons that took over Murica and with its human resources the western world cby force ertainly dictate historiography till WW2, but one shouldn't believe what is commonly believed. The Wrights didn't even fly, it was more of a Ground effect hopper.
      With less disgusting proud and infantile view the things look quite different in the whole rest of the world, than in Murica believed. One can say that Murica took the straight line from barbarism to decadence without even trying to reach for the peak of culture. There is nothing of substance over there nor is there an education system that deserves the name. A prison system very well and barracks from horizon to horizon, but nothing sublime. Not even Hitler or Stalin would have wipped out two cities with nuclear bombs. Anything achieved over there is stolen or taken by force on base of war crimes and mass murder.
      But one thought makes me quite happy. I' writing from an 850 years old patrician stronghold with meterthick walls and this very building saw the first wooden houses come in the United States and it'll will see the last plaster board dwellings be blown and skyscrapers rusting away.

    I'm not sure what your target audience is but this is basic to the extreme and not particularly well researched.
    Increasing altitude is achieved by increasing power therefore the flow of air over the wings creating more lift. The Elevator is used to change the angle of attack creating or reducing drag to control the speed of plane. It sounds counter intuitive but that's the way it works.
    While "turning" the ailerons does shift the aircraft sideways the usual turning procedure includes the use of all three control surfaces, the Ailerons to tip the aircraft, the elevators to create a slight nose up attitude and the rudder to maintain a level path. The result of this creates a turn in which the inertia is felt directly through the seat as though you are still siting on the runway reducing the feeling of motion sickness.
    Flaps are not just deployed at landing to increase drag but to maintain flight stability at low speed. Also Landing gear is a big drag component.

      +Craig Cottam Hey, Flight navigation is an extremely broad topic as you might know. What I was trying to do here was to give some basic overview of it. Otherwise the total video length would have exceeded 10 min ! We will soon release a separate video on it. I have made a statement before starting the flight navigation section,"Pilots use them alone or together depending upon the situation". What I meant was all three controls could be used together, even though we will see the operation in an independent way. In this way the explanation became so simple and easy to follow. Anyway thank you for your suggestions.

    somebody should tell me whether bernoully effect or newton's principle brings planes airbone. I've been taught that the shape of the wings create airflow which has higher speed above the wing compared to the bottom of the wing. Higher speed of air has lower pressure so it creates lift on the wing, this is so called bernoully effect. While the newton principles is about action and reaction, wings produce airflow downward and this "action" trigger the "reaction" to push the wings upward. So, which one I should believe?

    It's extremely painful to watch this, so I have to say it. At 0:43 - 1:20 the whole concept and animation of the Wright flyer is totally wrong.
    The Wright flyer was a canard plane, its direction of movement in the animation is wrong. Especially wrong in the animation when the airflow goes over its wing. It hurts to see that. The nose of the plane is that what you think is the tail of the plane.

    Wright brothers' plane actually was not capable of sustaining flight, it just planed a little bit longer then if removed the propellers, the first true air plane was 14-Bis from Santos Dumont

      +Learn Engineering How high can a airplane fly ?

    • @EdwinMarquezredwings
      @EdwinMarquezredwings 8 лет назад +1

      Gaurav Ghosh It depends on the airplane and its equipment. Usually a small plans cannot fly too high for the following reasons:
      1. The pilot is not equipped with pressurized cabin.
      2. A small plane is required to fly VFR (Visual flight rules), which means a pilot needs to use their vision to maintain aircraft separation. They must be able to see land marks and cannot fly near or through the clouds, it also depends on weather.
      3. A small plane needs to fly lower than an airliner since the the highest airspaces are more for military and commercial aircraft.
      4. If a small plane has an engine failure, they must be at a safe altitude to glide down and land safely.
      5. The structure of the small airplane is weaker than a plane designed for higher altitude and faster speeds.
      The big airplanes depend on how big they are, usually the more engines they have and the bigger the airplane is, the higher they can fly. And if you want to learn more about airplanes, do not watch this types of videos. The cockpit is totally not like that, and the airplane does not makes sense.

    Creating a lift means creating a force stronger than gravity. That requires really complex engineering. The fact that we get to experience that at such a low price amazes me.

      The flight is the definition of an object to defy the gravitational pull of the Earth's gravity and its atmospheric pressure.
      Even birds do glide and just rockets or rocket-based aircraft are able to move fastly enough to minimize the effect of Earth's gravity and pressure. NOTHING flies, snowflake.

    Guys here's the ans.↓↓
    A plane's engines are designed to move it forward at high speed. That makes air flow rapidly over the wings, which throw the air down toward the ground, generating an upward force called lift that overcomes theplane's weight and holds it in the sky.

    The lift is also generated by Bernoulli’s principal. The wings of an airplane has larger curvature on top. As a result, the airspeed on top of the wings are greater than airspeed at the bottom. By Bernoulli’s equation, greater speed results in a lower pressure. The pressure difference results in the lift force.
