Is it just me, or did Urva and Alugra seem to have some kind of chemistry between them stronger than friendship? I’m not sure if it would be romantic quite the way we may think of (if at all) but it felt like there was something there. Maybe there’s a video to be made just in their relationship?
Archer had a dream. It was about me making this video. And here it is! I had written a response to another comment in the Ur'su video that questioned why the Mystics didn't all commit suicide to help save Thra since Archer did so clearly it was something they were capable of doing. I'd mentioned that I thought it was perhaps because the Mystics actually do fear death, but unlike the Skeksis they don't let this fear rule them. They instead the spend much of their existence making peace with it. That said, I figured they'd still have some hope to be reunited. That perhap's Thra itself is sending them signs to hold out; signs like the prophecy in the Dark Crystal Movie that says a gelfling will be the one to heal the crystal and merge the Skeksis and Mystics into one again. But after watching this vid I was reminded of how the Archer was sort of an lone wolf among his kind. His stronger connection to Thra and will to protect it was likely what drove him to make the ultimate sacrifice. Since Ur'su was all for staying out of the affairs of Thra then this might be why none of the other Mystics wished to take their lives.

Such an epic character! My favorite mystic for sure even if it isn’t fair since he got more screentime pfft. His staff secretly being a bow is so clever, and his skills almost seem supernatural, it makes one wonder that the extent of magic is in the dark crystal universe.
So I have a theory about the Archer's death. I don't think the Archer's death killed the Hunter, I think the Hunter's death killed the Archer. If you look at the scene the Archer and Hunter begin to disintegrate before the Archer hits the ground. My theory that when the Hunter saw through the Archer's eyes and realised what they had done and that he was about to die the Hunter literally died of Fright and the Archer in turn died before he even hit the ground
Interesting theory, but the Hunter would never die of fright i think! And plus it takes away from urVa's sacrifice. I love it the way it is. But never stop theorizing!:)
@@DreamfastwithMe i get where you're coming from but consider how proud the Hunter was of having survived Death, realising his impeding death might have really thrown him for a loop. I also don't think it takes away from the Archer's sacrifice because he still choose to end his own life to end the Threat of the Hunter. I have a theory on a Possible storyline that could have been done in season 2 if you'd like to hear it
We all know that most of the UrRu are similar and/or fittingly opposite to their Skeksis counterparts. But most are one or the other. UrVa and SkekMal were very similar and opposite at the same time. 0:52 , 1:01 , 2:08 and 2:28 Both UrVa and SkekMal were very tough and independent, which was unusual for both races. But of course the light and dark balance between them is clear nevertheless: The light came from UrVa’s harmony with nature and selfless acts, while the dark came from SkekMal’s blood-thirst and selfish desire to kill. 4:44 to 5:16 Ultimately, both UrVa and SkekMal were the toughest and bravest of their kinds. Just in mostly different ways. Hopefully, the UrRu and Skeksis automatically rejoin as UrSkeks in death.

If the Mystics had really wanted to protect the world, they would have just killed themselves. This would, at a stroke, have eliminated the Skeksis, and saved all of the Gelflings. No amount of good the Mystics could ever have hoped to do with their regular lives could have matched that.
