I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. Today (January 17, Epiphany 2), this was our Gospel of the Day. This passage was read at my father's funeral. Also, this passage is read also on August 24, which is The Festival of St. Bartholomew (or Nathaniel), Apostle.
