  • In the video Pete demonstrates a couple of techniques to create a path pattern for a series of holes that will cover both flat and curved surfaces. We'll utilize both a design sketch and a projected sketch to help parameterize the pattern.

Man, whilst it may not work in Inventor 2022 in the way you said, I still managed to get it to work. Thanks for the help!

Super glad you were able to make it work out! What were the differences that you discovered and how did you overcome them? Might be helpful for others.

I've got a colleague that does the happy-clappy Steve Balmer dance while yelling "Parameters"..."Parameters"..."Parameters"..."Parameters"...

Autodesk inventor has broken this. In inventor 2022 the holes go off the plane that they are selected from and don’t follow the curve of the surface and you get weird warped holes that were patterned.

Maxim, I'm sorry to hear of your troubles. I just rebuilt the pattern in Inventor 2022, following the steps in the video, and the patter worked correctly. Please be sure that you are choosing the "Start"ing point at the first hole in the flat portion of the part, otherwise it won't look quite right. Hope this helps and have a most blessed day!

@@Team-D3 maybe a recent update has solved this. I started at a new job and they are still using 2020.
