Note: I don't own any of the photos; they are from the internet.
This reminds me of growing up in the 50s. There was always a week off school at Easter time and my family would go and visit relatives at Easter time and as we’d drive listening to the radio, this song would play. What nice memories!
I love the memory of my Daddy when he used to wake our family up every Easter morning playing this album on our phonograph! His attempt was to awaken us gently, reminding us it was Easter morning and the Easter Bunny surely had left eggs in our shoes! After the this tradition, the next tradition on Easter morning was of my Boumann Family of 13 (11 children and Mom & Dad) took up a whole pew at Church for a Mass! 🌷✝
Was my Mom my dad was an ass. Glad ur dad was great. Happy Easter n best memories
❤❤😂❤

Wow. My Daddy woke us up every Easter morning singing that song. I'm now 60 and never forget it. Sweet memories. Loved my Daddy💙💚💙
I remember many many years ago my wife and her sister making easter bonnets for my daughters Emma Michelle and little Lucy. And of they went to school so proud xxx
I started sing this yesterday because I was down but it made me happy and that I can make it through covid-19 no matter how long it takes
Glad to hear !
That’s what’s up. I’m so happy for you
Bing Crosby sang this in the movie "Holiday Inn" which also featured Fred Astaire Fred Astaire and Judy Garland sang this song towards the end of "Easter Parade." Irving Berlin was well known for placing his songs in several filmed venues. It shows up in "Alexander's Rag Time Band" sung by Don Ameche. I recall reading somewhere that Brits don't know what a "rotogravure" is so in England that word is replaced with something else, like "photoplay"--but I'm not certain of that.
Omg I haven't heard this song in years......I'm playing cause my wife and were sitting here talking about it on Easter evening 4/16/17.....Happy Easter to all......
So funny that my daughter & I are in the video. That was a good yr
jayleigh11Happy Easter!
@@65Seasons I'm 65 now and Love it Too
they don't make like this anymore.... fond memories listening to this on the phonograph ... as a kid..
What a beautiful and memorable song especially for us boomers
Love bing Crosby and Fred Astaire who each had their own flings with this song
I learned this song in music class, I think second or third grade (late 80s), and have loved it ever since.
lovely song
Hi great movie happy Easter everybody thank you
So uplifting thank u Jesus, YOU ARE ALIVE
Love this song 🎵
My grandma use to sing this song to me
This Easter is a sad one with this Coronavirus going around - but we’ll get through it! Let’s do this gang!
Yes we will!
Because its the FEAR VIRUS!
bing was the master.
It's Easter, so had to hear it at least once. I dont know if Easter parades still happen.
I remember him singing this to Marjorie Reynolds in " Holiday Inn " . I loved Bing too . Always have , Always will .
I read, recently that Bing said "Frank Sinatra has a once in a lifetime voice but why did it have to be in my lifetime?"
You have no idea how hard it is to find this song...thankyou sooooo much!!!
There is olny one Fifth Avenue...and Bing Crosby Says it all!
When I was a kid, they still called those magazine sections of newspapers the "rotos". Am I really getting that old?
ro·to·gra·vure (rt-gr-vyr)
n.
1. An intaglio printing process in which letters and pictures are transferred from an etched copper cylinder to a web of paper, plastic, or similar material in a rotary press.
2. Printed material, such as a newspaper section, produced by this process.
You’re recalling and immortalizing your younger days🗽🇺🇸☮️
On this occasion, most auspicious, I proclaim your bonnet
to be the grandest chapeau in this
Easter Sunday processional. Really quite epic in its photographable appeal.
My sister-in-law l-o-o-o-o-ves Easter bonnet hats, closet full. 2018 Photo please?
It's surprisingly hard to find this song. Thanks for uploading!
Those hats!
Real Easter parade God Bless USA
Recall singing this in school choir
Pretty :))
@ComedyStuff76 - this was originally uploaded in my previous channel (65Reasons).
@ComedyStuff76 I was wondering that too, I was looking for the part from the movie with them in the horse and buggy.
Are u alive 😳
This delightful song goes back to the times when men were gentlemen and the ladies were elegant. Why did it have to disappear? All we are left with is "culture" with 'wardrobe malfunctions,' nudge nudge, wink wink. 'tis to weep...
I’m here because of Randy Marsh
Yes! South Park is love. South Park is life!
lol i just had to know what song he was singing
Me as well
To ComedyStuff76 - You haven't really found the song. The wording has been changed in this version to include "5th Avenue" and "rotogravure" version the orginal version of "Roanoke Review". Suggest you check out Al Johnson's version.
"Teh photograpuhz... will snap uhz." Obviously a New York accent is implied here, as the "5th Avenue" mentioned here most likely takes place in that city.
thank you south park.
Huh? Didn't Irving Berlin's original lyrics include "Fifth Avenue" and "rotogravure"? Everything I could find lists those lyrics as original, and the Al Jolson version of the song I found had these same lyrics as well. I can't find anything about the "Roanoake Review" that has anything to do with this song. What am I missing?
