I have just begun my journey with a mobile bar business. My husband has been a caterer for 25 years, and we are expanding now to include our mobile bar. We started this because we needed to start thinking of retirement. We bought a $500 trailer to start renovating and am currently in the research phase. Im loving your videos! They are helping me brainstorm. Im sure you’ve heard the expression “you don’t know what you don’t know”. That’s where I am right now and you are bringing things to light that I hadn’t known I needed to know. Thank you so much and please keep’em coming. PS I moved from York/Gettysburg area about 5 years ago to Idaho. What area are you in?

Currently do a ton through Amazon & webstaurant store but I am going to get a storefront going here on our channel to make finding my favorites much easier!

15:08 I have a question about staffing. We r just getting started, our camper trailer is being renovated as we speak. Hopefully it’s ready by July. We have friends lined up to do the bartending that we have faith in to get the job done well. I worry though that because they have M-F jobs and lives that they may not be reliable enough to count on year after year. What has been your experience with the longevity of staff??

Would you be willing to do a one on one meeting of some kind? I am interested in starting a busy like this. I have the necessary capital to get going with a trailer but I have some questions. I would appreciate any kind of advice/mentorship I could get.

As the owner and operator of my new business, I do have a responsibility alcohol management cert, but do I need one for the business as well?

If you are the sole proprietary even with an LLC ...your business is still considered owned by yourself. So getting the certs for yourself is fine. You need insurance for the business name though

Hello Kaelin, love your videos, I have a question regarding wedding events , I also operate as BYOB , I work with my client to figure out what ingredients will be needed and they are responsible to purchase, I don't have liquor license and I just had the situation where a couple of venues are asking for it , else my client is not allow to have me there by the contract they singed , do you have some information about this you can share ? I've been looking in to the process to have the license but I wanted to check with you first, any help is appreciated

Hey @kearo, so I have never had a situation with a venue where they needed a liquor license. With that said, there is a lot of education that the industry sometimes needs for what we do as it's a particularly gray area.
I try to communicate with venue owners and staff that for private events as a dry hire bar all we need are liability insurances and in PA ... RAMP Certifications. Once they do some looking at the info the are better educating and understanding. I also encourage my clients to book their event insurance through wedsafe.com as they are able to elect extra liquor liability insurance at no extra charge which is great!

I've been charging 10$ per person including (ice / cups / garnishes / all necessary mixers) and my all in (meaning alredy using all my services rentls and such) brides love it. My clients on the other end usually won't add it till last minute when they don't want to lug everything in.
