For the record I sold my PCX because I moved to the country. It was the most reliable item I've ever bought. Nine years of constant reliability - not even a blown bulb. Superb little scoot.
Thank you so much for your review! You've really sold this bike to me, I was quite on the fence about it until I watched your review and now I shall be getting mine this month! Can't thank you enough I know I won't be disappointed with it.
You did an excellent job on this review, thank you very much for posting it. I'm looking at the PCX150 for use in the US and it seems like a viable option - basically the same as this one but with a little bit more "umph" in terms of engine power. I'm impressed with how fast you're able to get going after using the engine cut-off switch. As with the other commentators, you have a pleasant voice and a well-organized speech pattern. Keep up the great work.
With regards to Idling Stop technology, I'd like to add that the PCX doesn't have a starter motor. Instead, it has a on-board generator which makes restarting the engine seamless and instant. It's pretty much bulletproof compared to starter motors which wear out a bit, every time the engine starts.
I got the Pcx 150 from Spore and we have to pay the "congestion" charge all the time. Nevertheless it's a great bike, I love the storage, fuel consumption (slightly over SGD10 on a full tank) and the twist and go method. My only gripe was it got punctured a month after I got it and had the hole repaired many times until I changed the rear Tyre today. I do agree it beats the cost of taking the tube and buses. I remember taking the bus all the time while in London to avoid the tube peak hours. Anyway, great review!
Your video is well made. I like to hear your comments. You have a good style of describing and where as I could easily get annoyed listening to others, your description is pleasant, information, and fun to hear. Thanks for the video. Safe riding.
Brilliant review. I am looking at getting one of these at the moment and this covered all the nit picky little bits and pieces I had wondered about. Cheers for the review.
I came very close to buying an SYM GTS for extra storage and leg room but when i sat on it i found it was more cramped! Just recover the seat/cut down the hump and the bike is perfect, i really couldnt justify getting a different bike. Add heated grips, bar muffs and a tall screen then you can ride year round in comfort. Took mine on a 3000 mile trip round Europe going over snowy Swiss mountains. Oh and replacing the indicator bulbs with the Osram blue mirror ones make it look sooo much better!
I'm 62 been a biker all my days and am now going to buy one of these. hope I don't regret it but economy and comfort are now taking precedence, thanks for the review a lot of useful info. A wee tip reference the wind, learn the skill of counter steering, slightly different on scooters but you'll never be bothered by the strongest of winds!
I've only ridden about three times in the rain and they've remained bone dry. Make sure you buy a size that has some space at the fingertips. When your fingers are around the handlebar they'll need a little space at the tips or they'll get cold. As good as these gloves are, in 2˚ weather your finger tips can still get cold, especially as there's no finger protection against the wind on the PCX.
Hi, yeah I was told to run it in for the same period. Difficult to do but basically don't open it all the way and yes, keep to 45 max. During the last month I did odd full throttle moments but don't ask me why. Enjoy the ride.
Hi Thanks for the compliment. Yes, I had a geared 125 Suzuki Intruder cruiser. I just got fed up with changing gears. Also, I found changing gears quite distracting and possibly dangerous. If starting in first, it might take a moment to engage second, by which time the car behind doesn't notice I've slowed down momentarily and drives into my rear. Thankfully it didn't happen but it could have. Anyway,I've noticed even big flash bikes have clunky gears. Just not necessary in town.
You're right on many points. However, having been an experienced motorist and bicycle rider for over 30 years (and without incident) and in my fifties I'm fully aware of my surroundings. The bus stop I pulled up in was for no longer than a few seconds and I was tucked in way before any bus could pull in. Besides, there were no buses anywhere to be seen such is the quietness of the street. Oh, and I sailed through the theory test. So easy.
MrGlendragon you are too kind. Guess I should really be taking my test. A CBT every two years isn't very cost effective. It'll be just like me to arrange a test just as the weather breaks, especially given the opportunity to have done the test all summer. But if I'm honest I'm too nervous to take it. Don't ask me why. Thanks for liking the vid.
I have a Honda PCX. I can honestly say it's the best decision I've ever made. Cost me £2550 to buy brand new, the dealer paid for 12 months tax, a tank of fuel (which lasts around a week and a half for me - the PCX does 135mpg), L plates, a more robust tax disk holder...the lot. I spend about £6.50-£7 every 1.5 -2 weeks on fuel. Great fun to ride, easily quick enough, leaves any car at the lights and goes upto 65mph. If you're thinking of buying one, do it! You'll never look back.
Thanks, I might be getting them, still undecided and still shopping around. I got Oxford Hot Grips fitted so am not worried about the chill, however I do need gloves that are definitely waterproof (and warm of course).
Hi. Thanks for the compliment. I'm mid 50s and pay around £250 with Bikesure. Before that I was with Bennetts. The best thing to do is use the insurance comparison sites like go compare, compare the market etc. Unfortunately age and experience might go against you. They're such rip offs these insurance companies. And quotes between comparison sites are often different, even for the same insurer. Good luck!
Super review! Very well done. Only thing I will say is even tho you feel more protected on the scooter don't scrimp on protection because in any crash you'll be off the bike in a second and only your protective gear will save you. But apart from that 10/10. Really enjoyed watching that.
Just bought one an excellent bit of design. Sent for an after market screen And as it's a 2018 I may buy a flat line seat so I can sit further back (I'm 6,1) Now I know many use them for commuting and they as you say are Fantasic in that roll. But I am retired so it's going to do a bit more than commute. I intend to tour on it that's why I'm doing the Das to loose the L Plates. so I can go abroad should i wish to and use the Dartford crossing. I have toured the UK on a Honda 50 In the 70s so I know it's possible but you just need plenty of time to do it. Having said that a guy pulled alongside me at lights on a Kawasaki Ninja & roared off , I think he was trying to impress me ( two wheeled p extension as you pointed out ) ,obviously the bike left me standing. I caught him up at the next set of lights and the ones after that and the next three sets. He was not a happy bunny. Tortoise and the hare sprang to mind.
I was also thinking about going on a short tour with this bike but not sure if it'll hold up constant speeds of 60mph. My tour wouldn't be more than 180 miles and I was thinking about making two short stops during the trip to cool the engine down a bit. I hope it's possible with this bike.
I have this bike and I love it! I have owned big cc, bigger expense bikes and this is one of those bikes that serve you, instead of you serving it. Despite its lower power/ top speed, comfort, stability and carrying capacity when compared to those big bikes, it's incredibly cheap in every aspect than those big bikes (gas, maintenance and parts, insurance and tax). Could be more comfortable but probably sacrifices comfort for stability and/or economy. Although the bike definitely "likes" to steer, the steering doesn't inspire me a lot of trust but that's probably due to the default tires which I think are a little too slippery to my taste but that's also a sacrifice for economy (less friction, more economy). I just go slower on the turns when the road is more slippery. The only thing I really have a gripe about with this bike is the sub-standard materials used in the chromed steering which will rust unbelievably for a Honda motorcycle. Hopefully there will be some 3rd party replacement for this. Overall, awesome bike! I got a higher Givi screen (chin height) and it helps with the cold winds. Yeah, this bike is definitely not made for frequent use on big motorways but, if you keep to the slowest lane, it'll do "alright" heheh. It's definitely very susceptible to the wind though, due to its aerodynamics and light weight. Having a Gemini alarm on the bike, and not using the bike very frequently, I found that it's better to keep the "idle stop (stop-start) function deactivated since I already had to replace the 1st battery. But if you use the bike frequently and/or you don't have an alarm, that won't be an issue and you can use that function without any problem whatsoever.
That's a really nice video and very well presented. I've just bought my daughter one of these (we live in Germany). It's a great quality bike, typically Honda and I agree with the Apple comparison.
Good comprehensive review, not like most of the rubbish on RUclips which doesn't give any information at all. The 125 is not sold here (in Sydney), only the 150 for about $4800 which is about £3200.
Hello, very good review, just thought i'd mention that a c.b.t expires after 2 years just incase you were unaware of that as you did mention that you completed yours almost 2 years ago. Hope this helps, and ignore me if you are aware already(which you probably are). Cheers
Hi Daniel. My bad - didn't really say that the brakes are adequate. But I'm not sure how well they'd stop the bike in a real emergency. That makes them sound really bad doesn't it? Seriously, I've had no scary moments yet and I've pulled them hard a few times.
Been thinking of getting the 150cc model but for the area that I live in, it would be a rather dangerous purchase, not for safety for me, but for my bike as it has a high possibility of being stolen. So I guess it shall have to wait.
Great review man thank you! I've been reading on forums that the breaks aren't that good, what do you think about them? It seems like a great bike for the city.
great video buddy... i love the honda pcx i am now on my 3rd one 2013 model in white. 1st 1 was in black and done 15000mls on it and it still went like new. but i must say the 2013 is better. and i have been riding around for 12 years on a cbt just do every 2 years and suits me. but wish honda would put heated grips and seat on them as i have just do this and it was the best 150.00 i spent nest i am going to put a hd hero 3 camera inside the headlight housing area. enjoy the summer rides
When you ride a motorcycle your meant to sit up against the tank! I presume that the same rules apply to a scooter, I know their is no tank to sit up against but a sat up and forward riding position would be correct.
+eraldorh hum it looks like that tank goes below the feet?? if so I would say that this vehicle is more stable as mine has the tank on top of the rear tire... thus when its getting depleted one does fill the difference.. as a change in stability... yet... now I am wondering if I could add a second tank... and... yes with the idea of putting it there below the feet... it would increase stability drastically and rage... hummm
thank you for doing this review I just started looking that the Honda pcx as I doing like the Hondas as my dad has a Honda s-wing but this look really good and I am glad all I hear is good good things
I'm really thinking about buying this one now. It's so cheap (prize, tax, ect.) and so much less gas than a car. But one thing: I've heard it needs service A LOT (it doesn't NEED it, but a few tests said so, probably to keep the guarantee): Every 4000km?! If I ride to work every day, and to the store and stuff like thats every 3-4 months?!
Hi there, thanks for the great review! I was borderline until I saw this video, now I'm sold! Do you have any links to those online thai retailers selling after market parts and accessories? I would really appreciate if you could share because I just can't find them with regular google searches
Great review. However, TAX is 17/year not 15 (that's for anything up to 150cc), and I haven't seen a new one for 2300. I've seen plenty for 2600. Just being accurate. Also, what are the service intervals?
Hello, great review I just bought a brand new pcx 125. I also went from a geared bike! What did you do about 'running it in'? The garage I spoke to said don't do over 45/50mph for the first 600 miles! Surely that's a bit over the top? Cheers, Liam
Unreservedly so. It is absolutely perfect for city use. Light enough to manoeuvre, quick off the lights and handles just right. Some good space under the seat but I'd advise getting a Givi box. I just bought the ideal size: E370 Tech. Not too big not too small. Got it from motorcycle planet.co.uk. Happy riding when you get it.
Very good review, thank you .. what's the difference between this one & the Elite ? And would you recommend the Elite over the SYM fiddle 2 ? Thank you again :) cheers
Great review, I almost bought one of these last year to commute to work. But decidedthat I needed a small car instead. I normally ride a kawasaki zx6r sportsbike and I also have a bmw C1 scooter, so I see both sides or the "Get kitted out to ride angle" I'm so chilled when riding my C1 , I can jump onwith just shorts a t-shirt and flip flops if I desire and because of the protection it offers me I feel really comfortable and at ease. However should I jump on my Zx6r then the leathers come out
Good review, I gotta say you sound like a really nice bloke :), I just picked up a used honda dylan great bike aswell, i love honda, BTW you sound like warwick davis
im very tempted to get one, iv heard things about the rear suspension being too soft, i baught a geared bike which is nice but not really great for convenience purposes. wish id of got one of these now.
Interesting video so thanks for that , have you still got it , and if so how many miles on the clock, and have you had any probs at all,i am in the process of looking around for a new scooter .thanks again .
Oh, and I certainly wouldn't pass by parking on a bus stop as someone pointed out me doing in the video. I hasten to add it's a local bus stop that's hardly used. But still no excuse. Ha ha.
hey, amazing review mate. i've been searching and searching a for a half decent review on a 125. Im 19, going to get my cbt, and i'll most likely be keeping it in the back storage cupboard in my home. can you give me a rough estimate on insurance please? thanks alot.
Oh btw: I never drove a car (ok bike) in the UK. Why are the cars parked "against the driving direction"? (you're driving on the left lane and the cars left of you "show your their front, not their back"... it looks like they drove on the left lane, but parked on the right side... or turned around?!... just wondered)
I was wondering what the 'L' tags were at the front wheel and at the back of the scooter? Is that a mandantory tag for motorcycles there? I was only asking from curiousity. A very good review of your bike, mate. I am looking into scooters, and Honda makes a few I am really looking into. From a modded Ruckus, to your model, or even a Metropolitan.... Its hard to decide when Honda makes so many good bikes... ^^ God Bless ya, mate. Kimonoskunk
Kimono Skunk The 'L' plates are Learner plates. You can ride a maximum of 125cc motorcycle on a provisional driving licence. You have to display L plates by law. If you do what's called a Direct Access (DAS) course you can then ride any size bike and not have to display L plates.
only Honda's bikes that i like are Honda's crf dirtbikes.I'm also looking for some 125cc bike and i think i will buy Gilera Runner 125cc scooter because it looks fucking awesome, its really fast, there are awesome aftermarket exhausts for that bike and its really cheap. This Honda looks nice but Gilera is better.
Great review! How much does this bike cost? I recently went to vietnam and rode around on mopeds everywhere and would really like to get one now, could anyone recommend a decent and reliable one for a first time rider that doesnt cost too much?
Depends how much is too much. As value for money goes, you'll struggle to find better deal than PCX125. Unless you prefer flat floor, than something like Honda SH125 is better.
Would you recommend buying a tall windshield I live in a desert in California and I plan to be riding when its as low at 50-60 degree weather, would a tall shield be worth buying and also how convenient is it to have a top case.
I purchased mine in April. I have the 153cc model. Here in michigan I paid $3500 for mine but is worth every penny. I especially appreciate the gas mileage and quietness of the bike. Great review.
Nice to see a clear, articulate and comprehensive review.
Excellent review, thank you for taking the time to make this.
Mikolaj1406 Thanks for that info!
OK, I'm sold. The Everyman's transportation. I love it! Excellent review.
I'm 6'3 and have one of these. I find the hump to not get in the way, and my legs fit in surprisingly well
Brilliant review.

As good as these gloves are, in 2˚ weather your finger tips can still get cold, especially as there's no finger protection against the wind on the PCX.
Cheers Nathan. You'll enjoy every minute of it. I still do.
Hi, yeah I was told to run it in for the same period. Difficult to do but basically don't open it all the way and yes, keep to 45 max. During the last month I did odd full throttle moments but don't ask me why. Enjoy the ride.
Hi
Thanks for the compliment. Just not necessary in town.
we love you mate! great comments and video!!! ))
Cheers!
So easy.

nice video, thanks for taking the time to show this bike so well
You sound like Jeremy Irons. Nice video, many thanks.
Great review!! And the funny thing is it's been filmed in my local park! I like it even more. Gladstone park is the best!!
+Steph C Excellent spotting. I was back in the park a couple of weeks ago to to this update: ruclips.net/video/CHZ5OKsMfu8/видео.html
thx for going in-depth. I loved ever second of the information

Excellent review I must admit. Even if you are a bit tough on the product.
well, that was about the best review on a product I have ever watched. thanks a lot! ps loved the BBC Sherlock!
Just bought one an excellent bit of design.
Sent for an after market screen

That's a really nice video and very well presented. I've just bought my daughter one of these (we live in Germany). It's a great quality bike, typically Honda and I agree with the Apple comparison.
Very informative. Been looking at scooters for my daughter. You may have swung my decision to buy her one !
Good comprehensive review, not like most of the rubbish on RUclips which doesn't give any information at all. The 125 is not sold here (in Sydney), only the 150 for about $4800 which is about £3200.
Great review. Thanks for making it 👍🏻
Excellent video, I'm getting one later this week!
I'd be very grateful if you could remember the thailand site you used for the seat and extras.
Here's a link to the seat video: ruclips.net/video/5Hb4T3AwQQ4/видео.html&spfreload=10
website is powerbypcx.com
Thanks Ofir
I was winging it but hopefully it's not too rambling. So many facets to mention.
Great review mate. About to get one of these!
Great review. The new pcx is coming out in July here in the US. Can't wait to get mine. In white of course. ;-)
I have a spare apple sticker for that bike if you want it ;) Jokes aside, just bought myself the same model and I'm loving it. Great review!
Hello, very good review, just thought i'd mention that a c.b.t expires after 2 years just incase you were unaware of that as you did mention that you completed yours almost 2 years ago. Hope this helps, and ignore me if you are aware already(which you probably are). Cheers
Wow this review was amazing never seen one quite as good i don't think. well done and thanks :)
my mate has one which is crazy stop start technology for fuel consumption
Hi everyone. Thanks so much for your kind comments. Glad you like thevreview
Fantastic description. I'm thinking to buy one also.
Good spotting. Yes, I know. Mine's due in May but gonna bite the bullet and go for the test. God knows I've had enough practice. Cheers
Great review! Thanks.
I want the same bike more and more!
Great review. Been looking at the pcx for sometime as a way to commute to work.
You just made my mind up ,Thanks. Good bye car
Hi SpitzFire
I bought my humpless seat from powerbypcx. They sell a lot of other PCX kit too. Cost me about £150 all in, incl customs and postage.
This might be 10 years too late, but trying my luck: where can I get that silver covering that goes over the end of the exhaust pipe? (2:50)
Hi Daniel. My bad - didn't really say that the brakes are adequate. But I'm not sure how well they'd stop the bike in a real emergency. That makes them sound really bad doesn't it? Seriously, I've had no scary moments yet and I've pulled them hard a few times.

Thanks for the corrections!

You presume wrong then, most of the time the tank is behind you on a scooter and in his case it's below him.

Sadly it doesn't come with an alarm here. I use a Kryptonite stronghold system with fat chain and Xena disc lock alarm while out and about
thank you for doing this review I just started looking that the Honda pcx as I doing like the Hondas as my dad has a Honda s-wing but this look really good and I am glad all I hear is good good things
Thanks for the great review!
Did you previously have a geared bike? And if so, what made you want to change? nice review by the way.
Excellent video. I went through about 5 video's and they all stunk! Good job. What is the seat height? I have very short legs...29 inches.
To this guy that made this video can you send me the link I need to buy one of them sets
Top review.
Gee you love that scooter!.
+Lostmysoul Today I do, I really do. So reliable.
Very good review, thank you .. what's the difference between this one & the Elite ? And would you recommend the Elite over the SYM fiddle 2 ?
Thank you again :) cheers
Great review, I almost bought one of these last year to commute to work. But decidedthat I needed a small car instead.
I normally ride a kawasaki zx6r sportsbike and I also have a bmw C1 scooter, so I see both sides or the "Get kitted out to ride angle"
I'm so chilled when riding my C1 , I can jump onwith just shorts a t-shirt and flip flops if I desire and because of the protection it offers me I feel really comfortable and at ease. However should I jump on my Zx6r then the leathers come out
Good review, I gotta say you sound like a really nice bloke :), I just picked up a used honda dylan great bike aswell, i love honda, BTW you sound like warwick davis
very good review, thank you !
Hello, great review! I've just bought a brand new pcx 125. I also
im very tempted to get one, iv heard things about the rear suspension being too soft, i baught a geared bike which is nice but not really great for convenience purposes. wish id of got one of these now.
Ha ha.
Cheers Matthew.
hey, amazing review mate. i've been searching and searching a for a half decent review on a 125. Im 19, going to get my cbt, and i'll most likely be keeping it in the back storage cupboard in my home. can you give me a rough estimate on insurance please? thanks alot.
Not by parking momentarily at a bus stop as someone so eloquently pointed out!
Thank you ! Very informative !
Oh btw: I never drove a car (ok bike) in the UK. Why are the cars parked "against the driving direction"? (you're driving on the left lane and the cars left of you "show your their front, not their back"... it looks like they drove on the left lane, but parked on the right side... or turned around?!... just wondered)
awesome, thanks for your answer. Would you recommend this scooter for the city?
nice review, thank you
any idea what the max speed is now you have probably rode it more??
Many thanks in return Oli
very informative review :)
Im thinking of buying one
great review, thanks a lot! :)
great great review! thanks!
*Thanks !!!*
God Bless ya, mate.
Kimonoskunk
Why not a vectrix?
Quick question, what winter gloves are you using for riding and what gloves would you recommend?
Omg can you even see the dashboard while driving but a bad design
One more thing, are they truly waterproof?
Excellent! thanks aging :)
