Good job Andy. It is a shame that in this throwaway world, so few electricians take the time to actually fix stuff. I guess that there is no money in it for them.

HI, it's a real problem because of liability, if they fix it and it goes wrong again, it's their problem. If they replace it and there is a fault then it's the suppliers problem. That and time management, cheers

Another led light saved from the skip. Good job. Not sure why you had some flicker from some leds at one point - it went away in the final fix anyway. My neighbour's barn has a 150W led floodlight that has one third of its led array flashing _exactly_ like that downlighter you showed in the other vid. - I am going to have a look at it, with some expectation of maybe finding a dodgy cap in one of the power supplies inside it. I'll let you know what I find, just for information. I may have to settle for just disabling the one third that is flashing annoyingly if I can't find the fault. This floodlight is one of a group of 4, so I'm hoping they don't all start showing this fault !! Getting at them up in the barn roof is going to be the hardest part I think... Cheers, Dave

Dave, I suspect the 150w flood will have 3 drivers, or 3 parallel circuits, be interesting to know. If you de-tune them it will extrend the life dramatically, cheers

Andy, yes I am expecting to find 3 power driver modules in the 150W flood, one of which is playing up.... I won't be able to reduce the current through the leds though, as every watt of those 150 (600W total) is required in that barn - actually, it would have been better if they'd put in many more lower power lights spread out further, but this is with hindsight of course, and cost would be a problem. You have a different bench power supply now I notice by the way - very good ! Cheers, Dave

Dave, will we see a video about your LED escapades? Yes a much better power supply, cheers

I think I will try and video it Andy, yes. I keep fixing things and regretting not making a vid about it :o) Lambing will start in that barn soonish, and so the lights problem will need fixing at that point - I think I will try and take the duff lamp down and away to my workshop - that lamp does not point in a useful direction during lambing luckily - but yes, I will record what happens, it might help someone else out with the same problem.. cheers, Dave

A mirror or painting something reflective may improve the secondary lumination.

      Hi, that's worth considering, cheers

Same construction as an led computer monitor

Thanks for this, so monitirs are 4 parallel then in series, clever stuff to produce images, cheers

@@TheInfoworks I think sim6699 is referring to the LED backlit monitors/tv screens.
OLED screens have an RGB LED for each pixel I believe.
