The sweetcorn are ready to go in but I had to find somewhere different to put them because my potatoes need more time.

Apparently so, I’ve never had as many as this year. We’ve enjoyed three weeks worth 🍓😊 also the sweetcorn really needed to go in as they had outgrown the little tray and I look forward to them growing now. 🌽😀

I love growing sweetcorn but we have deer that love them even better ! 😮 I have trend fencing around the corn but the deer jump it and wipe out the crop .
It’s 2 years on the bounce now which is a bit disheartening.
Anyway upwards and onwards

oh wow you have deer? I wonder what protection would work to keep them off the corn? Or perhapsd grow loads and loads so that there some for you both. Deer wont be a problem where my allotment is, surrounded by houses but im sure other animals will pop by!

what a waste of strawberries.. someone hungry, starving, or otherwise would have loved them, but you couldnt be bothered UGH

My friends, family & neighbours have all enjoyed many strawberries over the past three weeks and food banks near me do not accept fresh produce. You may not realise but strawberries begin to go soft & get eaten by snails and insects at the end of their season so they were not suitable for human consumption. They will add great value to the compost which I create myself and will use on the plot next season and I will enjoy sharing the sweetcorn crop that is now growing.

@@Bod252525 yes, no one wants to eat a squidgy strawberry with a wood lice or slug in it 😀. We had a really great harvest this year before they passed the edible stage.
